Tis the season for spring gardening! This past weekend we checked the garden factory for the first time. It was HUGE! Definitely bigger than I expected. Tons of plants to choose from flowers, shrubs, trees, etc. Service was very helpful too. We ended up purchasing two susan magnolias and I cannot wait to see how they blossom! My experience: I bought six yards of black mulch, laid it in my garden bed and literally two weeks later it had discoloration and looked old. My old mulch appeared to be darker then the new mulch that I've purchased from garden factory. I spoke with the manager and she stated the die didn't take good and that she would just give me more mulch to top it off. I chose to shop somewhere else. read more

Five stars cause it's a fun little hangout / go-for-a-walk spot with the pups. Always so much to see and smell. Staff is always friendly and our pups have so much fun. This is my go to place for plants and fun outdoor and some indoor decor. They have so much, it's a huge space. It would be surprising if they don't have what your looking for. There's a very large greenhouse like space (my favorite part of visiting here) that has tons of very happy healthy plants like lemon trees, yucca and cactus galore. This space makes me feel like I'm visiting a botanical garden but you can take the plants home with you! It has such nice vibes and the plants are all so healthy and vibrant. There's also quite a variety of different pots to choose from so you can make sure your plant is extra stylish before heading home. Inside the store there's so much outdoor decore sometimes it's fun to just browse. They change their stock seasonally so there's always something new and if you want to get your decorating on they probably have something for you. They then also have a huge outdoor space with plants for outside your house. They run decent deals at times. I feel they have the best healthy plant to price ratio in Rochester. Sure there may be a cheaper plant somewhere but it may not be a healthy plant and then there are certainly more expensive plants but honestly I've never had a problem with anything I have bought here so I don't see a reason to go spending more. The motherland of gardening and plants in Rochester! WOW! I hadn't been here in years (like...10+ years) and was so happy to read that they were open for in store browsing and curbside pickup. I really wanted to have the experience of picking out plants myself, so I threw on my mask and headed inside. I was looking to fully decorate my mantel with live plants, and the indoor plant section of Garden Factory did NOT disappoint. I only spent $80 on 4 succulents, 4 new houseplants, 4 succulent pots, soil, and grow pots! WOW. There is no easier source of joy than walking in here and looking around at the goods. They have a huge selection of gifts and a staff of hardworking people ready to help you with whatever you need. I was in the area and excited to check out a new plant store, and so happy I did! The Garden Factory supplies all necessary plant needs. It truly is a one stop shop. The plant options went from fairly common to wow I never see these! The nutritional needs and other accessories options were great. Beyond what you'd find at a big box. One of the largest selections for your landscaping and garden needs around. This place has it all.... from plants, trees, flowers, shrubs to all the products needed to maintain them. I love walking through the patio/greenhouse section with all the fruit trees, cactus and the large trees with all the sunlight coming in. Inside there is a seasonal area, with all sorts of decorations, hanging signs and ornaments. Lot's of beautiful fall wreaths from the simple arrangement of basic leafs to the extravagant. I've purchased a few items from their bird area, seed, scopes and a bird feeder. The quality is outstanding, so the prices reflect that. They have a lot of onsite activities and special events through the year. Fall family fun is awesome, with games, rides and hands on arts and crafts for all to enjoy. The Garden Factory is a great place to explore for your seasonal plants and for your landscaping. Many churches rely on them for Easter and Christmas flowers - lilies and poinsettias. Fall is mum's galore. I actually got some azaleas to replace 30 yo yews that were taken out in my front planting area. Plus natural cedar mulch. The staff is very helpful and supportive. I love coming here in the spring to add new plants and get my "must haves" like mulch, soil, mushroom compost...and at Christmas for the poinsettias and the amazing train display...I have been coming for close to 35 years and never disappointed. Today I want to especially thank Marisa for going above and beyond. I tried new co to do mulching but ordered GF same mulch as always. New landscaper told me 2 yds short...never happened before and then wanted to charge me more than 2x GF rates to go and pick up. I called GF and got connected to Marisa who arranged delivery for within an hour today...even though typically only deliver to this area on Wednesdays, so mulching could be finished today. Thank you! Went in today. Bought 25 bags of mulch ... had my tail down on my truck with my bed extender on. Loading took my extender off my truck while i was being loaded without asking then claims to have thrown it on top of my 25 bags of mulch on my Chevy Colorado. I would have seen it up there immediately in my rear view window...also...i drove home on 531 extension. I would have known if my bed extender flew off. Long and short ...guy took my bed extender off...without my permission...and then kept it. Also got home and discovered i was shorted 5 bags of mulch. When i called the manager backed up the guys story and refused to help me or even apologize....$500 for a new used extender plus my shorted 5 bags. My family regularly spends upwards of $10,000 a year there ...been loyal customers for over 30 yrs. Never ever again. I visited The Garden Factory on a sunny 30 degree day and their solarium was such a break from the elements for the half hour I was there! It was so warm and refreshing. They have such a wide variety of indoor plants including succulents, money trees, cacti, hanging baskets, and so so so much more! There is such a wider variety of pots that will satisfy anyone's need as well as decor for your garden. The grounds in general is HUGE. Garden Factory always has a great selection. Don't mind making the 30 min. drive. Purchased 2 aborvides bushes based on the salesman's recommendation that they were deer repellant. 3 days after the planting one was virtually destroyed by deer. I took pictures and went back to the store and spoke to a woman at the from desk. I showed her the receipt and the before and after pictures. She said they were not guaranteed against deer. I bought them based on the sales reps. advice. A 50% refund on the new sale price was available only if I drove the 60 mins. to dig up the damaged one and bring it back. This is a giant store. Use your head and try to make the customer happy. I would have been happy with a slight discount on the new bush. Very disappointed in the customer service. You need to train your people at the front desk a little better. It doesn't take much! read more

I like to support family businesses, so I went to the garden factory. My mistake. First off, the tree I purchased looked a little bit wilted, but I was told once it's planted and has water it'll be fine. Well, it wasn't fine it was totally dead within two weeks. I took it back and was rudely told 50 percent in store credit only. ( Lowe's and Home Depot are 100 percent refund) The rude lady gave no apology , digging up a tree, wrapping it and returning it was not easy! I tried to use the refund on some garden decor and was told that I could only use it on another tree or bush and there would be no warranty on it. ( I spent over $800 at the store when I purchased the tree. ) Sorry Garden factory, you fail in every way, so much for going out of my way to support local family businesses.. read more

Garden Factory has been a staple in Chili and surrounding areas for several years now. It has grown by leaps and bounds which is nice because they have such an enormous selection of pretty much anything you're searching for in gardening. Our whole front yard is filled with various plants, trees and bushes from the Garden Factory. As far as prices go, they do have sales on a variety of flowers, mulch and much more throughout the summer. For quick price comparisons, I would say that Home Depot across the street did have a cheaper deal on a few flowers. However, Garden Factory beats Home Depot on mulch and other flowers that are on sale in bunches of 4 for $12 or 5 for $20 deals. Overall, the quality of Garden Factory's flowers appears to be a step above the rest. I should note that if you're looking for cheap items, this should not be your first stop. Going to the public market might be a better option for those on a budget. Be sure to check out their weekly ad on the website for reference too. If you're looking for an experience and options for your personal or professional needs, this is definitely the place to go. read more

In fact when they were expanding, years back, I brought several tons of gravel in with a "flowboy" tractor-trailer. I even recall the owner on a bulldozer leveling the gravel out as I came in with my big truck. He even had his young daughter driving the dozer with him. She was a good operator, LOL! This past few days, from street talk to TV news, News10 I believe, I heard about his holiday Christmas event with his huge train set-up plus carnival rides. I decided to visit. The place was packed, everybody was there. Mom's Dad's, Grandparents, kids galore. Everyone was having a fun time. The train set up was my favorite. ( see my video above) . The owner and his employees put a lot of time and effort in to setting that up, impressive! I've always respected the owner and employees,good people! The Garden Factory has pretty much all of your lawn and garden needs. Seed, mulch, shrubs, plants (indoor and outdoor) bushes, trees. If you don't see it, just ask, I'm sure they'd get it for you. The Garden Factory I went to The Garden Factory Saturday July 2, 2022 to purchase a yard of Pink Salmon Quartz landscaping stones. The cashier was very helpful, even going as far as to help me gauge how much us be able to carry per load. I returned Sunday, July 3, 2022 to purchase another yard, and got a different cashier. I could not help but to notice how polite and professional she was with the gentleman in front of me. She inquired if he was a "rewards member" and concluded the transaction wishing him a pleasant rest of his day. Upon greeting me, there was a blank stare. I proceeded to tell her what I wanted, and admittedly, I think I botched the name. She displayed her displeasure in "correcting" me, confirmed I wanted a full yard, told me the price, took the payment and handed me my receipt. In complete contrast with my interaction and more inline with the gentleman before me, the perk returned to her voice and the first thing she asked, as per her training, was "Are you a rewards member? Needless to say, I took notice to the stark difference in attitude. The gentleman in front of was caucasian, the woman behind me was caucasian, which leads me to draw the conclusion that this behavior is reserved for Black men or, Black people as a whole. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years with this company and I no longer feel that I, nor my money is welcomed. I did speak to a manger who said he would address the situation, but seemed to want to downplay the actions of the cashier more than anything; going as far as to suggest I looked like a "landscaper", and she probably mistook me for a contractor. It would be perceived to be honorable to blatantly say your money isn't welcome here as opposed to pretending and receiving the economic benefit. That said, the garden factory need not worry about me burdening them for their lack luster service EVER AGAIN! read more

This weekend they were selling pumpkins at .24 cents a pound, gourds at .49 each, corn stalks at $5.99 each and a mum plant for around $5 or $5.99. This has been my pick for finding house plants. Their selections and prices are great compared to competitors and they are well maintained. I've picked up succulents, medium size plants like Christmas cactus, jade, and larger varieties like snake plants and more. I shop here around the holidays for Christmas Cactus's (I love them) and some small Christmas gifts. Last year, I was able to buy a Summer grill dirt cheap, and have it set up for a reasonable cost as a Christmas gift for some friends. Staff are nice to me, selection is incredible, it is pricey, but you get what you pay for in selection, quality, and service. The Christmas train set up is incredible to see as well, so if you go around the holidays, check it out. Went with my family to the Garden Factory this morning. Since it was the first weekend it wasn't as busy, but as the a.m. went on more came. Make sure you get your tickets if your kiddos want to go on a ride, 2 or 3 tickets a ride and to purchase tickets varies of course. However, you can pay for a ride, example: 2 tickets or 2 bucks. We loved the Halloween light show, they played 2 songs. Plenty of room to sit and take in the lights. Also there was face painting, decorate a mini pumpkin, marry go around, big slide, and some more. Oh yes, food too. Pizza, hot dog, nachos, pretzels etc. There's tables here and there, but nothing you wanna seat 10 people together. The kid's had a good time! read more

Store was closing so had to go back to garden section to find a different plant was told the store is closed and rushed along as if i was a burden. If they had competent staff helping paying customers, I wouldn't have been such a burden and they could've closed on time. As if that wasn't bad enough it was raining like crazy and one of the employees closed the door on me as I was trying to seek shelter from the rain. Thanks for a wonderful experience. So many venders. I bought the cutest pet crafts. My favorite is when they set up for Christmas. They have their train set village, a light show, tress everywhere, and so much more.
