We arrived 20 minutes before closing and knew exactly what we wanted to get. Staff was extremely rude, pushing us out. There was definitely profanity, commenting how they could not believe there were people in the store that close to closing. Extremely rude and disrespectful. read more

I had heard about Ollie's and also seen flyers in the mail about them, I was curious. Since I was going to Best Buy I decided to stop and check it out. To me it was like a overgrown Dollar Tree. This store had quite a few things to offer but for more than a dollar. They had discontinued products, close out items etc.. And I must say they had a variety of things. From kitchen appliances, to some clothing, cleaning products, car items, sporting goods, food, and books. Books galore! The store didn't appear to be real clean, the floors were dirty and several items were cluttered. But if you looked closely you could find a bargain. It's definitely worth a stop, but I would check a flyer or call the store and ask if they do have the item you want before hiking over there. read more

This place reminds me of one big garage sale...things are placed all over, prices are marked down and you never know what you are going to find here. A lot of items turn over fast, so if you find a good deal... stock up cause it might be all gone next time. Other items are always there... like the large selection of books when you walk in. Everything from novels, home improvements, kids books and everything else. Lot's of throw rugs and carpet sections piled high. They have a decent selection of food items, mostly snacks and spices. Check the expiration dates. Great prices marked on these. Iv'e gotten pop tarts, crackers and k cups. Everything has always tasted fine. Sometimes I fine a good deal on beauty products, similar to clearance prices at the bigger named stores. They do have a rewards program and it can get can you discounts on your entire order. Free program sigh up right at the store. The place is not super organized or clean but with discounted prices and that warehouse feel I get it. read more

I don't quite know what to say about this place. My husband wanted to check it out. It's like a close out/overstock/grandma's basement vibe. If you have a good eye you can find some treasures but.. always a but. Some prices are excellent on let's say dried herbs at .97 cents but they don't have all of them. They have completed close outs that they got on Rachel Ray Plates and etc price as marked. They had a Chefman Coffee Grinder $9.99 always good to have another and you can grind your herbs. They also have Air Fryers, Instant Pots and whatever but you can get the same prices at Wal-Mart if other places. They have clothing and rugs (some were pretty attractive oriental carpet wise) they have some foods, beauty products, stuff for the garden. Books, books, books or yea and Tiki Torches! I give them a 3.5 it smells like grandmas basement. But like I said if you have a trained eye you can find some good deals. They share a lot with Kohl's, I'll be back for the extra coffee grinder I believe. read more

I have to say I am a big fan of Ollie's. I love finding things with good deals. I particularly like this outlet better than the one in Greece. I went there one Friday evening after having dinner with a friend not expecting to buy anything and came out with some nice bed sheet sets, shower curtains, a nice throw pillow for my couch and some bakeware to furnish my home. The quality of stuff they have is nice and designer brand but you just have to be willing to take the time to look around and hunt around for things. Will definitely make it my regular hunting ground when I am looking for things at discount prices. read more

So close to 5 stars! I was visiting Rochester from out of town and was very excited to find exactly what I needed for a great deal! As I was walking around the store, there were many signs posted that it was an Ollie-day and all items had an additional 15% off. I was even more excited and picked up a few more items. After cashing out, I realized the cashier didn't ring up the Ollie-day discount. It's definitely worth a stop however pay more attention at the register it there's an Ollie-day! read more

Good stuff cheap! Even *not* so good stuff! Caveat emptor, folks... when you buy a refurbished or blemished appliance here make sure you keep abreast of manufacturer'rs recalls. Case in point, we purchased a "Sylvania" dehumidifier here only to find out that it was recalled due to faulty wiring & several had already caused fires (!). Luckily, we were on top of the situation, followed the instructions and received a full refund from the manufacturer. While you *can* find some deals here ($12 Dockers, $10 designer jeans) I'd be careful buying major electronics. Could be a way for some brands to dump their dangerous goods! read more

To me, Ollie's is the TJ Maxx of grocery and hardware store goods. Unlike other discount chains that sell their own off brands, Ollie's sells brands that you will recognize at a great price. They have a broad-range of books at very discounted prices. If you're shopping for cookbooks, religious books, children's books, self-help books, or puzzles you are in luck! Many times I peruse their book section for gifts for my and my husband's coworkers and their children. Ollie's beauty section is always interesting. Several times I have found high end European hair care products that I had seen in my travels. Other times, they have brands that I had not seen in decades, and evidenced by the the dust on the bottle, probably were manufactured at that time. I have purchased some great made-in-Italy tomato sauces and made-in-Spain olives at ridiculously cheap prices. I find their bed linens to be of an inferior quality. They pick up overruns from Wal-Mart and Target, but also have brands that I'm sure were manufactured for deep discount stores. Their electronics are fantastic! Headphones and iphone, ipad, and ipod accessories are greatly priced. Nearly half the price of what you would find at Best Buy. I have purchased high-end stationary for bridal and baby showers at Ollies and have been extremely pleased. I have even found great odds and ends for wedding and shower favors. The staff, while overworked, is normally helpful. Don't be put off by their kitschy marketing: they have an Ollie's Reward program that actually does offer discount coupons. You just never know what goodies you may find at Ollie's. There are times when I walk out empty-handed, but many times I don't. It really is worth the extra trip to stop by Ollie's and save a few -- or more -- bucks. read more

Ollie's is the greatest store of all stores. Is it high-end? No. Is it medium-end? No. Is it low-end? Even that might be a stretch, but you can actually find some really quality products at this store for really cheap. You walk in to the store immediately overwhelmed with the incredible selection of all the products that couldn't sell at other retailers. It's an Island of Misfit Toys for American consumerism. The book section is surprisingly good, some great finds in fiction books, cookbooks, travel books, and coffee table books that are significantly cheaper than even Amazon. The kitchen supplies section is also great, cheap appliances, really cheap cookie sheets, really really cheap candles and Febreze-like products. The selection of cleaning products is always very deep and usually a lot cheaper than Wegmans or Wal-Mart. Bedding and curtains are also usually a deal if you have the patience to dig through the selection of things that often look like there was a reason they didn't sell at a "big box" retailer. The real gem of the store though is the food section. The depth and variety of products is simply stunning. Organic kids fruits snacks, Starbucks or Caribou Coffee, high-end popcorn, fancy salad dressings, and organic cereals can all be found. But also found here: crab cake flavored chips, hot dog flavored chips, Toys-R-Us animal crackers (who knew those even existed), Taco Bell chocolate-flavored taco shells, and a variety of simply bizarre products that makes shopping here part entertainment. The staff is usually too sparse, but it's not a place that you go if you are looking for a pampered shopping experience. Love, love, LOVE this place! Great selection of pet supplies. Beautiful flower pots for next to nothing. Rag rugs for $3.99. Toys and games for half the price of other "discount" stores. Can't say enough -- Ollie's is my FAVE! read more
