The salmon was apparently wonderful too, from what my partner said. And I ordered the macaroni and cheese from the kids menu but it was huge. My baby loved it and since it was so huge there was too much for her, so I had the rest at a later time. They had a really good strawberry lemonade, of which we (my daughter and I, because of course she had to have some) drank several glasses. Our server even brought me a to-go cup of it because she said it looked like we were slowing down and may be near finishing. I didn't ask her to bring me a cup of it to go, and wouldn't have thought to ask, so I was very happy she brought it for the rest of our ride to Cleveland. But perhaps my favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We ordered some macaroni and jalapeño bites which were a hit as far as myself and the little one were concerned, with not too much heat that she could enjoy them. The restaurant has a Brussels sprouts appetizer, but they do it as an "of the week" special. The week we were here it was inspired by elote, so it had some corn and cheese and stuff on it and they were so good. I love Brussels sprouts, and will happily try them prepared in a new way. As of June 2026, I think they are short staffed. Our food took a little longer than usual but that was ok; it gave us a chance to chat and relax. Just be patient if you visit in the near future since they are down an employee or two! My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. It sits in downtown DuBois with plenty of parking options nearby. The restaurant is good sized but it also does a lot of business so plan ahead on the weekends. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2. This is not a chain; it has character, it's not polished but it's a true gem of spot in rural PA. I'm glad places like this still exist!

When I got inside the restaurant, the carpet in front of where you order was sticky and the person working the counter was slightly disheveled and partially toothless. Also, I kid you not, the napkin holder at the table I was sitting at ran out after one napkin. The food was quite the mixed bag. I don't have the pallet of a chef, but if I had to guess I'd say they use mayo instead of butter on the outside of the grilled cheese given that it reminded me of the mayo Burger King uses. Not my favorite by any stretch. At least the burger patties were cooked and seasoned well, and the tots were crispy, and the order was ready quick.
