We're known as the "coffee church" because our incredible hospitality ministry treats us with coffee (or tea) every Sunday morning. Come early for great fellowship. Worship starts at 10:00-sharp. Don't miss the first worship songs because that's when the Holy Spirit truly enters the room and you don't want to miss that experience. Children's ministry ROCKS by the way. This is a no judgement zone so worship as loud as you'd like and bring the dance moves to praise the Name above all names! Come alone, with friends, or family! This church holds more to conservative Christian beliefs but that in no way means they are lacking in compassion. They have an interesting blend of worship with music and worshipful dance that is done by regular people who feel so led to worship in this way, and since the dance area is behind the seats it is not at all distracting if that isn't your thing. The worship service felt intimate and real. What drew me here was their Jesus Ministry Conference http://www.newhopechurch.com/jesusministry/conference/jmconference.html When you go to church a lot, like I have, I believe you become desensitized to the things taught. These simple truths in this conference really were eye opening and refreshing. How truth really does set you free. And how Jesus can empower you to make healthier choices for your life. That you in fact can make that choice because of the power of the cross, the realization that you have that choice, is where freedom is found. This is a church that if you have some church background and are looking for a place to serve and to know Jesus in a deeper and more meaningful way, this church, its staff, its people, are all very hungry for the same thing. I felt very welcome here. If you are new to church, it's not a bad place to check out. The pastoral staff is warm and genuine and so are the people. Again, they hold to a more fundamental Biblical view but that by no means, means they are lacking in compassion. This church was there when I needed some prayer and a kick start to my faith. And, well, God really spoke to me here. And when it comes down to a review of a church, that's all that should really matter. There are lots of places to worship God. But if you are interested in or are of the Christian faith and you are dealing with the same problems over and over and can't seem to get free of them or if you are lacking in your faith, the Jesus Ministry Conference has some practical tools to learn how to deepen your faith. Its more than happy feel good sermons. Its something you can use every day. I'll be going to a conference again the next time I am in the San Diego Area if the timing is right. And if you miss the conference, there is still much to be gained from attending services here. I know I will return to either a service or a conference myself my next trip here. I was burnt out on church. From the politics to the people, I was in need of a change. I wasn't…read moreburnt out on God. I was seeking for a place that I could call my church home. I explored countless churches for over a year, even did church at home, before finding New Hope. I felt a genuine sense of acceptance and welcome. New Hope communicates to me that we are all God's workmanship and in process at multiple phases and appearances. The worship, teaching, and community align with my beliefs and I even felt that if I had a difference of opinion that I would still be welcome here to worship God in my own way. As a huge bonus my kids loved the kid church and even asked if they could come back tomorrow. This was a first from my kids. I recognize that not every church is a fit for everyone but I believe that New Hope is a transparent and authentic group of people who love God and welcome other people to love God with them.

I went there this morning for services and I have to say without a doubt the NICEST group of church…read morego-ers I've ever met. Period. It's a small church, maybe 30/40 people? Hard to count. The pastor is a kind man and his wife is a gem. I explained to them, and a few elders, I had never been to church before and they were very helpful to me. The service was well put together and the lady who sang was just superb. After service we had coffee and cookies... I mean who doesn't want coffee and cookies? I chatted with a few more people and then we had new member group. Again, very helpful. I never once felt like I was being judged; which I find amazing. I will definitely come back and I'd recommend this to all looking to find a nice church. ps services on Sunday from 09:30 to about 10:30. I recommend getting there 10 minutes early to get seated (and get a parking spot).

(I'm looking at you Pastor Nate and Carlie). I love the women's ministry too! Just a fantastic group of ladies of all different ages and walks of life worshipping God and having fun. I have met more people here in 7 months than I did the entire seven years at another church. It's not me- Im not different. This CHURCH is different. Jesus is for everyone and that's what this church lives out. I wasn't sure I would like watching the sermon on a screen (the main campus is in Vista.) But I'm so used to it now- It's not a big deal to me. The messages are fantastic. They are planted in scripture and I've learned a lot more about the Bible! I have felt nothing but kindness, love and support from North Coast Rancho Bernardo and I'm so so so grateful. My kids also really like the youth group!! If you're a christian- you need a church. What a beautiful church!…read more St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Poway is beautiful, large, and well-lit with natural light coming in. The layout of the church like a cross with beautiful Spanish-style arches. I love how big the property is and the beautiful Blessed Mother statue at the top of the hill. They have a church hall that can also accommodate events like wedding receptions. The priest was very welcoming and friendly. And the wedding coordinator was wonderful. The organist played and sang beautifully. This is a wonderful Catholic Church in Poway and I would love to visit again when I'm in the area.

Lately, though,…read moresince the old pastor retired and a new "interim" one has been appointed, things have really changed, and not for the better. For example, a friend who has asthma respectfully requested that incense for the Triduum be done in an appropriate, but "lighter" way, so she could attend. She loves the Triduum, and attending means a great deal to her. The pastor flatly refused. She was heartbroken and practically in tears at his insensitive treatment of her. She has been an active member of this parish practically her whole life. I could easily cite other examples of negative things happening at this parish. The interim pastor should be gone in a few months, but the damage is being done and may not be so easy to reverse. AMDG.

I first came here to visit during a conference some years ago. A friend of mine knew of this place and invited me to check it out, I can say that throughout the years, the only changes I've seen are in the decor; the ambiance always feels great.
