I took away a star, because the restrooms were horrible. They were dark and it appeared there was stuff smeared on the stall walls that looked like it wasn't 'new" - I gagged the whole time. I noticed it a while back; this place was definitely loved hard over the past decade plus, so it's nice to see these upgrades! This is still my go-to theater: 1) I like the ease of choosing my seat and ordering my ticket online ahead of time. We've never had an issue or glitch with this. We just show up, use the little machine to scan our barcode, and it's as easy as that. 2) I like the annual Premium Popcorn Pail deal (even if the bucket is 20% smaller than it used to be). We always trade ours in at the end of the year/beginning of the new year for some kind of genuinely decent promotional deal. On average, throughout the year of using it it seems it costs us anywhere between $11 and $17 to get it filled and get one large soda (that we could get unlimited refills on if we could be bothered to leave the theater). 3) The "luxury power recliners" themselves are, for me at least, bigger and more comfortable than some of the couches I've owned. I crawl into my seat, hit the button, up go my feet, back goes my upper half, and I'm immersed in a cloud of comfort (without annoying anyone the way this same action does on a plane). And they're SPACIOUS: I can have my jacket in my seat next to me, my purse, my food... and there's still room. 4) I like that they show old movies!!! TAKE MY MONEY, I want to see Jaws here every summer. 5) FREE movie on your birthday (all you need is your ID to prove it's your big day)! Admittedly, during really busy times, it could use some additional TLC: 1) The soda area can get quite wet and sticky. 2) The bathroom trash bins are often overflowing (and actually, I think that's on you, future customer. Can you please just kind of push your towel down into the bin instead of laying it on top of it?). 3) Why are the bathroom stalls SMALLER than airplane bathrooms? I'm a small person, and I still have to contort my body to close the door. Still, it's comfortable and (mostly) clean and the staff working here can be really charming and goofy and I love that because THAT'S what a movie theater staff should be.

I've been going to this drive-in with family and friends since I was a kid. It holds so much…read morenostalgia for me. Drive-in theaters nowadays are few and far between, and this one is a true gem. I absolutely recommend a visit. There are two screens, and every night they're open is a double-feature on both. Heads up: CASH ONLY! There is a building on-site that has a huge snack shack and lots of clean bathroom stalls. For more information, definitely follow their Facebook page where they post the movies and other info each week. On my summer vacations to Maine from Connecticut growing up, I loved to go here with my mom, brother, and sister in my mom's truck, back it in, and lay under the stars to watch a double-feature of the latest movies. We'd curl up in sleeping bags and pillows, and there was no greater family bonding time. Nowadays, I like to go with friends, especially those who have never been to a drive-in. It's such a unique experience for all to enjoy. Being outside enjoying movies really has a special feel. The previews and "commercial break" reel during intermission transport you through time. There's lots of fun little animations, old cartoons, and vintage ads. This drive-in makes the experience of being at a drive-in truly special and timeless. They also do "retro nights" in the summer where they do a double-feature (as usual) but of classic hits like Ferris Bueller, Back To The Future, The Princess Bride, Spaceballs, and more. The first floor of the museum gave so much mining history and lots of information on minerals from Maine. The second floor has more minerals and gems on display, and has space rocks to check out. It took us about an hour to do the whole museum. Outside of the museum sections, they have a discovery room that is free to check out with drawers full of gems and minerals from all the world. They also have a fantastic gift shop with lots of different gems and minerals. Also don't forget to check outside the museum where they have even more minerals on display!
