I don't like to write something negative BUT, I had $7,000 worth of crowns done by two different dentists as the first one left and the second one has also left and now there is a third DDS there. The problem that the second DDS put the crowns in wrong and I now lisp, I can't chew on that side because my teeth hit . I also have to sleep with a night guard! The third DDS, a nice man, didn't want to file the crowns, for free, because he didn't put them in. Mind you my check was to Gentle Dentist not Dr Joe, DDS. So, I am now talking with Nancy a manager and she will not call me back with any solution. Paid bill and have been receiving harassing phone calls and bills with increasing balances stating I never paid, I asked where I could send the receipt and proof of deduction from my bank account and was told I couldn't. The office and this this third party billing company do not communicate. This is just another big box dentist like Aspen now, I have subsequently left their care and will be looking for a private business where I feel ethics and integrity are at play. Real shame also, been with this dentist for years, but It went completely down hill once the original Doctor retired and sold it to another souless conglomerate company looking for a cash grab with subpar service. read more

I am old/good for 74. My wife 78 has dementia. I had a broken old molar with a crown and old root canal that was loose and broken after 20 years. No saving that one. Had never been to this dentist before but reviews were good and close to home. Just needed a rotten tooth pulled. Good they got me in 4 days later. Seemed okay about 78 wife's condition to stay in room with me over the phone. Sign on door said cover mouth as necessary call before entering. Took our temps upon entry. Okay. Then one of the receptionist insisted if my wife (who has issues breathing thru a mask) either wear the provided one or have to wait in the car. For an hour? With dementia. Seriously. There were no others in the waiting area. A UPS man and some other lady came and went without any mask. Finally solved that issue with upset wife for the rest of the day. So got xray of one tooth. Dr. Who? Didn't introduce himself - took a look with a mirror agreed tooth needed to come out. DOH. For the first time in my life a dental tech took my BP. Twice. She said it was too high. End of treatment. Got a form to be filled out by my GP authorizing them to do work. What? Couldn't get them to do anything without the form. Okay. Went home very upset. Which makes my wife upset. Had Explained to them my BP elevated due to 24/7 with dementia wife, Anxiety about getting tooth extracted and slight root infection they indicated. They were convinced according to the form that I would bleed to death. I'm on no meds. Not even an aspirin that day. Later that evening using my tongue and finger I removed the tooth. It bled a little. Good. So what. Why was I charged $89 for a one tooth xray a quick look with a mirror by a man in a gown and a 24cent Rx for infection avoidance (which I had to ask for)? This was a total fail in my mind. I won't go back. 3rd useless Dentist I've gone to in Spring Hill since our old ones retired. Check your BP before showing up at this place. They don't take stress into account. Yes they were friendly. So what. No results. Waste of time and money. As is advertised: "Gentle Dentist" will not touch you. At least I saved alot of money. My complaint is regarding what they charge. I went for a deep cleaning, I was told it would take about 2 plus hours. Charged me $462.42 cents. Paid up front when making the appointment. Seems since I have upper dentures, I was done in 45 mins. I was told that's because you half a mouth of teeth. The more I think about it, the more upset I get. $462.42 is outrageous for half a mouth. I think it's absolutely horrible that Rory Vosburgh left a review regarding the Gentle Dentist on Google when she actually works there and has for years!! i specifically stopped going to this dentist because of her. My Mom passed away over a year ago and she actually gave me such a hard time about me having to cancel my appointment so i can be by my Mom's bedside when she passed away. And even more ironic, right before COVID hit, i had the worse tooth infection and was in so much pain. Couldn't sleep or eat. When i called there explaining my situation, she told me I would have to wait a week to see a dentist for this emergency. Needless to say I haven't been back and absolutely don't recommend it. Could not have been happier. My front tooth was capped by another dentist and it was just the temporary. Here in Florida for the month of January and the temporary cracked, even though I did have a mold to make a new tooth and have it replaced, the Doc was able to just smooth up the chipped temporary and leave it in. My family and I had to change dentists and went here last week for first time. From the moment I walked in door we were greeted by the girl behind front counter. She was so welcoming and friendly. Then I met Janine the dental hygienist. She was amazing. She was so knowledgeable, she told me many things that no one ever had about my teeth. She is so professional but yet so friendly and she cleaned my teeth better than anyone ever has in my 30 + years going to the dentist. The dentist was very nice as well. Absolutely LOVED the dentist AND staff! Everyone was so super nice and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They explained everything perfectly and made sure I was informed completely in the process of my treatment plan. I have a broken molar (resulting from an untreated abscess) that has been getting infected and causing me serious pain and discomfort. I originally went to Dr. Akel bc of his great reviews online. No offense but he was kinda cold and would ONLY talk about my broken tooth, not any of the other problems I listed on my paperwork that I really wanted addressed. He told me there was no way to save my tooth and that he could only do a bridge or I could have an implant put in by an oral surgeon. I knew my tooth could be saved. Then he left and a woman came to tell me I would have to pay $1880 AFTER the $1500 my insurance covers. Obviously I went to get a second opinion. At the gentle dentist he told me he could save my tooth no problem and made me feel so comfortable. They even put a pillow under my head for the exam! He going to fix my tooth for a third of Akel. Sooooooo disappointed in Dr. Lash's work with my crown on #18! He prepped it twice while I endured pain each time. The temp crown fell off many times in between. I made trips to have the temp crown re-cemented from Hudson, which cost me in gas and inconvenience. The office is cold! I asked for a blanket and they obliged. The staff is very nice. After 2 crown preps and a perm crown finally cemented, my tooth still hurt!!!! This is months in duration. Finally I asked if I could see Dr. Kandy on a Friday to evaluate the crown. After several visits with him and adjustments, he finally diagnosed that the crown was ill fitting. It didn't completely cover my tooth! It was too big. Dr. Lash had to have cemented it knowing it was not right. Dr. Kandy re-prepped the tooth and cemented a new crown at no charge to me as I said I would certainly not pay for! The new crown is fair to barely adequate. Since then, the tooth still hurt. I changed dentists and found the tooth was now destroyed and needed a root canal. I paid for that expense from a wonderful endodontist in Spring Hill, and still have pain! He said it will hurt for a long time, but it's been months. I have an appt to see my new general dentist in Hudson, to evaluate the crown again! There has been constant food impaction between this crown and the tooth ahead of it. It is NOT a tight contact by any means! I'm guessing I will need to pay for a new crown, as this one is still not right! I do not recommend The Gentle Dentist, Inc, in Spring Hill, FL! Dr. Jergens left and I wish I would have left when he did! Still in pain, and not happy! read more

Since the doctors changed, this place has taken a turn fore the worse. The Dr tried to yank out my husband's wisdom teeth with some tools! After of course failing and putting my husband in so much pain for a week, requested him to go to another doctor to get them surgically removed. Trying to pull out wisdom teeth from a 28 year old is the most stupid thing I've ever heard of! Then about 3 months after our last appointment we received a random bill for $200 with a date claiming we were there which we weren't. I called up asking for an explanation and they told me to throw it away, and they're confused why we received it. Another 4 months later another random $200 bill was mailed to us with a different date that again we weren't there for. I left a VM at the office and regarding them to explain the bill to me, and I was never called back, so I threw it out. We then went to our 6 month appointment yesterday and they told my husband he owed $200! I explained how we received these random bills twice over an 8 month span with both different random dates claiming we were here, and they looked at me like I had 2 heads. I also asked why we have been here since we received a bill and nothing was said until now about an owed balance. Asking them to explain the bill, they immediately claimed their "computer was down", and they would call me to let me know when it's back up. My husband and I like our hygienist, but how the doctor is trying to scam people by randomly billing them plus putting people through unnecessary pain is enough for us to go elsewhere. We never had any issues when Dr Jerggins was there. But this isn't a "Gentle Dentist" anymore. I do not recommend this dentist for anyone! read more
