This review is for Anthony. He cuts my toddlers hair and let me tell you-that is a bear of a task! My son had never felt comfortable getting his haircut. He used to cry, kick, scream...and be terrified of the clipper sound! Until I took him to Anthony. The first time was the usual tantrum. The 2nd time, a little less squirming and crying. The 4th time, my son barely moved and not one tear was shed! Anthony is super gentle and patient. My boy loves him and I won't take him anywhere else except to Anthony at the Gentlemens Room! We fell on this place by accident, but it wouldn't have hurt us to have missed it either. Went in with the husband for a routine haircut. We normally go to Bob's or this place in San Francisco, but we decided to give it a try. I was shellshocked when I saw my husband's head. He asked for a fade and they shaved his head. They left a bit on the top and the line was great but what happened to his hair? Maybe communication was lost somewhere I don't know, but they even cut his head. Bad clippers? This place is not bad at all, the ambiance was quaint, they were polite and greeted us on the spot. Tucked away in the Creekside Shopping Center, one of only three in the entire city. The shop has a trendy appearance and appears not be very involved in the Hercules community, but not any worse than most of the business in the city that just collect revenues and don't create ,support or engage community programs, such as the arts, education, senior, etc. Seems to be the Hercules way. Anyway a nice place for a cut or groom, as all shop only as good as your favorite individual barber or stylist. read more

This is the busiest barber I know and very well respected by his clients that some he's know all of there life. I enjoy just sitting and listening to stories, watching a movie,or even shooting a game of pool. I just moved to the area so I turned to yelp for a legit barber shop... This is not the place if you plan to have hair longer than 2cm.. I USED TO style my hair with the dapper combover part but now I have no idea what I'm going to do.. It was obvious from the gates that the OG cutting my hair had no idea what he was doing.. He didn't even use the spray bottle to wet my hair.. Even worse, another barber had to step in cuz he knew he was already fckin up.. Be professional.. If you don't know what you are doing, tell me.. I've been getting my haircut done at the Gentlemans Room for a couple years now. They just moved out of Hercules into Rodeo and as it's a new shop there is still remodeling to be done to the place as they haven't quite settled in yet. With that said, I ONLY let John touch my hair. He always knows how to cut it right without me even needing to say anything. I trust him touch my hair and making it look nice. This is one of the best barbershops in the Bay Area. The entire staff are excellent Barbers. The atmosphere is friendly and open to conversation on any given topic. I went to Ed, an old school exceptional barber from New Iberia, LA who cut my hair just the way I liked it without having to be told step by step. He took his time took a little off to ensure that the cut would be right to give himself room for correction instead of diving right in and taking too much off. This my third barber shop since moving to the bay area in 10 years as I am loyal to my barbers and only trust a few. This shop is the best in the bay for quality, service and affordability. Despite this small salon being in a desert-remote area, I can't come up with any benefits of coming to this salon. Cuts are over-priced. Business is shady because I get charged different prices each time I come. The freaky thing is that the owner Ish is the one that charges me differently each time. That being said my barber/stylist John Solis is that man! Every cut i received was top notch and overall fresh. John is a man that takes his time (without being slow), very precise in giving me the style i wanted ever time. I don't even need to look in the mirror after my cut due to my supreme confidence in his abilities. Not only is John a master barber, but he is also very personable and great company.
