Hello, I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at Top Notch BarberShop. After my 6-year-old's barber of three years unexpectedly passed away, I found myself in a tough spot, trying to find someone new--especially with my son's birthday right around the corner. After an unsatisfying visit to another shop, I was really feeling the pressure to find the right fit for us. That's when I walked into Top Notch BarberShop, admittedly a bit anxious. From the moment I arrived, the team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I explained what we'd been through, and I was grateful for how understanding and attentive everyone was. To my relief, they were able to fit my son in the very same day. I can honestly say I felt a huge sense of relief, knowing we've found our new barber, Brandon. My son left looking and feeling great, and the shop's positive energy and supportive team vibe made the whole experience even better. Oh hell no. My son went for a simple undercut before a big trip and received a BS lazy cut. The line is uneven the person missed spots AND managed to cut into the part of his long hair. The literal area that needed tightening up is like 1.5 to 2 inches. What a joke. Should be Butchershop not Barbershop. I don't even write reviews on yelp anymore but I had to come out of retirement on this one. read more

After another barber flaked on me, I called the shop and they were able to book me the same day. Interior were my favorite colors red & black so an immediate bonus. Haven't gotten a cut in forever and finally felt like it was necessary. Got recommended here by one of my best friends and I gotta say, the service and atmosphere is where it's at. They're friendly, easygoing, and make you feel at home as if you're talking to your best friends/brothers. My barber was Brandon and he did an amazing job on giving me a clean cut that was fast, not rushed at all, and just the way I wanted it done. If you're looking for a place to get cut in the Pinole/Richmond/Hercules area, shoot through on over here and give this shop a try if you want to look good for a date/event/or just in general! Not sure if it's cash only or credit card accepted but most barber shops are cash only so I would recommend bringing cash. read more

I went to a barbershop in Richmond CA for my picture day but they messed it up completely. too short I asked for a 3 but it was a 2 and the line it went to my forehead to my eyebrow and there was still hair on the line . So I went to this barbershop and they fixed it completely. The cut was fresh. the line was awesome no hair left and the side were amazing the service is very good. Their nice and they keep you entertained with music and movie's. I will HIGHLY suggest you coming to this barbershop. GOOD LUCK! read more

Brandon did an excellent job in cutting my 5 year old son's hair. Not only was my son comfortable in the chair but he ended up having a pleasant experience. No crying or whining, thank goodness ! I usually don't make yelp reviews but I had to make one just for this shop. Just moved to the Bay Area about a year ago and never found a good barber until I came here! Service is fast and price is great for what you get. The shop has great parking, has flexible hours, the area is nice, inside the shop is always pristine and clean. I don't live in the area but I make the drive because it's worth it! Been getting cut from Brandon for about 3 months now and he's never let me down. I change my style a lot and he always manages to make my haircuts better than what I expect. Easily 5 stars, would recommend to everyone. read more

A great up and coming barbershop that offers FANTASTIC haircuts with great attention to detail. I personally was helped by Mr. Brandon & received a very nice, Mid- Bald fade and beard shape up, and Mr. Nate suggested we use fibers to enhance my cut, and the results were top notch as their name suggests! I went to this barbershop actually a few weeks ago just now getting to giving the place a review. I found it while driving down Pinole Valley Road. I noticed it and then drove back around (to see if it was a barbershop that cut black folks hair) and went in found out that it was and thank goodness they took walk ins so I took a seat. I really was getting tired of the previous place I went to either it was full or the guy was "out on a break" or "he'll be here in a few" (unfortunately they did not specify a few hours) The person who cut my hair is Brandon he was super cool and asked me what I wanted and also he had the style guide listed on the wall so I just told him what number I wanted and he did an excellent job. Nothing sucks worse than some barber not cutting your hair right I always ask if they can do a bald fade it was so bad I used to come in with a picture on my phone to show them what I wanted and they still couldn't get it right not only did Brandon do it right he did an excellent job. I almost hate leaving this review because pretty soon word is going to get out and he will be busy also. Is a very chill place and is very laid back. They charge the standard price and take cash and have those things on the phone that takes credit cards as well. I cant recommend this place enough and will be back. PSA directed towards Pinole and the surrounding areas: The new barber shop in town is now my neighborhood barber shop. It's been a task finding a place that really knows how to cut my hair being that I have an ear to ear scar on my scalp which can be tricky to hide. Not only am I pristinely trimmed (with style of course) you'd have to perform a triple take to notice the scar at all. A down to earth atmosphere and skilled barbers will ensure a future return. read more
