I went there for a haircut for the first time and I'm not disappointed. They were fast, courteous and friendly. I will be back.

My sibling went in for a haircut, showed many reference pictures on what he wanted. It was all done wrong one side is a little longer than the other ending all of the full thickness of hair he had , then the stylist proceeded to tell him it was "too" thick to cut with scissors and she would "have" to be there longer and proceed to use a "shortcut" method of the razor, to be honest is that not the point of a hair stylist to actually know what the client wants and know how to actually at least try and achieve that style, rather than passive aggressive comments that ultimately led to disappointment overall. You ruined a teens self esteem! This really took a toll on him mentally, his hair means everything to him. Instead of giving him what he wanted, you gave him what you wanted which was honestly really bad! Imagine how a he feels with a haircut that looks like way different then what he wanted. I have been coming here since 2007 when I married and moved to Hercules. Since then -- marriage came and went; job turned to something else; and moved to Walnut Creek. This is still the best place for a tremendous haircut. I don't know about some customers who aren't happy over shades of color.. but Oahn works hard as a single mother with 2 kids; looks terrific and is gentle and warm. Totally messed up my color. I asked for brown on my highlights and grey coverage, showed a photo too, but after the service my hair is all just black. They ruined the highlights I have. Charged me for the full amount too. I thought it was weird they just did the greys and highlights together and mixed it all up, didn't separate the hair. They really don't know what they are doing and terrible service too. She even got defensive when I said it's not what I asked for, told me to see it in the sun and that I was in a rush so she mixed it altogether (when I just asked how long it would take). read more

Oanh and her husband Sean have been cutting my hair and my family's hair for years. We've gotten to know the hard working couple over a span of almost ten years, including the threading lady. We're proud regulars here. Cleanliness is well kept here from restrooms to the work stations to the waiting area. I appreciate any business that takes sanitization and cleanliness a priority. Sure a business/barber can learn all that they can during their cosmo/barber school but will they actually apply it? Not many do. It's a must to sanitize. I've been coming here for the last 3 years and the cost is half or more of what I used to pay and my hair looks and feels just as fabulous than the much higher priced salons! The bonus is that I'm not sitting in the chair for hours and I can usually make an appt a week out not 2 months out. She always consults with me and makes recommendations just like the higher priced salons but much nicer in my opinion! read more

Paid $35 plus tip for a really bad haircut. The cut itself was uneven and rushed, but what bothered me most was that they do not sanitize their equipment. Clippers and tools looked dirty and were reused without cleaning, which is unacceptable and unhygienic. For this price, the service and cleanliness are far below standard. Not recommended. read more

I have come here several times now for a haircut. I usually make an appointment and it's pretty straightforward. It is best to call in advance to make an appointment as they can get pretty busy. If you are looking for a super cuts kind of place, go here. They do standard cuts, nothing special. I'm sure they are fine for that. However, I have curly hair and let the person know when making the reservation. I believe the owner was the one who cut my hair. I watched in horror as she butchered my hair! I already had a great cut, just needed a trim. I'm still trying to grow it out 3 months later! For kids or simple cuts, they're fine and seem very friendly. I tend to be very picky about going to new hairstylists after getting a bad haircut at a salon, but I reviewed the reviews of this place before coming in and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I called in to check whether the place was busy or not & I was told that it was, but they were able to get me an appointment the same day! l came in looking for a layered haircut and showed the stylist some inspiration, I asked her to cut it to the length she think it's best since this is my first time asking for shorter layers. After consulting, she got right into work, she was very quick and precise with her work. After she finished cutting, she blow dried my hair and styled it, and it came out looking amazing! I paid $35 not including tip for the service. I couldn't get her name but she has short, brown hair, I definitely recommend. I will be coming here from now on :@)! read more

Made an appointment for 4:15. I get there and 4:15 comes and goes. I inquire about getting started and they said the one worker finishing a cut still had another person ahead of me before they would even start with my haircut. So- 45 minutes late. I went here about a year ago while looking for a haircut. The lady who answered the phone was able to come out to give me a haircut, which I'm thankful for. I was a little surprised that the haircut ended up being not that cheap when my layers were done by those shears rather than what I'm used to by hand. The haircut looked fine, but if you are used actually getting layers that are even all around by the stylist, which is what I'm used to. I did end up finding somewhere else that costs less and which does do this. read more

I said we want to keep it long/grow it out and for it to be cleaned up and evened out. Shawn/Sean first quickly chopped the front and I said "that's too short" but it was too late. Then he chopped the rest of the hair and it's completely uneven. I wanted him to even it out but decided that it wasn't worth the risk bc my child would end up with a buzz cut. I'm a fan. I get my hair cut maybe twice a year. I don't enjoy spending more than $40 on what is a relatively simple haircut: straight shoulder length with wispy long layers in the front. I was able to call in a Saturday appointment at 11am for a 4pm appointment. I asked for Hoan because she cut my sister's hair. I had read the reviews and was ready for a terse experience. I was delighted that she was able to see me within ten minutes of getting there (so, by 4:05pm). I told her what I want. She spent maybe 15-20 minutes cutting my hair, and it was done. She charged me $19 which is the standard for her haircuts (and not the $22 "long layers" price). No more dead weight. No more dead ends. And yes, I have movement back in my hair for less than 30 minutes. What a winner! I'd come back, although she recommends *not* on a weekend. read more

This was my first time here! I was in and out with like 10minutes? I got a trim and the lady, I believed her name was Won? Wan? Super fast, she knew what she was doing. She offered to cut and inch off my hair, and I hesitated and said half inch. She convinced me that if it wasn't the inch and to keep length, then the half inch wasn't worth it. But, she do it, I that's what I wanted. I gave in and said let's do the inch! She asked if I wanted layers, I said no, for now. I'm not sure what I want to do with my hair but I just know I needed a good trim. I'm very happy with my hair. I feel like I should've cut more but I'll go back to her in like 8 weeks. I'm hesitant to try new places, but I'm new to the area and I can't keep making a day trip out to my old home town for the basic stuff I need as girl!lol but I'm very happy with my hair! Wow! My hair grows crazy fast, and honestly maintaining my long bob was getting out of control cost-wise (I see a wonderful stylist in Oakland who also does my balayage a couple times a year). I really needed basic upkeep in between that wasn't going to cost $100+ and two hours. So I started searching for small salons near my new home in San Pablo with good reviews, and found this place. I called a couple days in advance and scheduled an appointment for 11:30am on Wednesday. I ended up in Pinole early so I checked in a bit after 11. Oahn sat me immediately. She is no nonsense! I showed her a photo and described the blunt cut, slightly angled lob I wanted. Twenty minutes and $30 later, my hair is absolutely perfect. Personally love that we don't need to keep up small talk or waste any time! I'll be returning every several weeks for maintenance. Oahn is amazing, this place is a gem. They were booked solid with walk ins and only had two stylists, so definitely make an appointment in advance. read more

I first came to Hailie's haircuts back in 2017. I have been to a lot of fancy salons and while they are nice and fancy, it also comes with a health price tag $$ that for me personally, it's not worth the money! Hailie's is cool. I've always been able to make same day appointments, the prices are super reasonable and they are kid friendly! I also brought my 5 year old here for her very first haircut and they were great with her! My daughter loved her haircut and she said they made her feel happy and comfortable.
