While these are typical muscadine wines with good body, complexity, and finish, they still came through for someone who likes dryer wines. The store was fun and we picked up a few extra local jams and a honey as we checked out. They had cheese and other pairings to compliment the wine. Service was fair. A person walked past our group a few times and could have jumped in to help move things along, but she did nothing. This left four of us sitting idle for a while. The only negative is the location. Great day trip from Marietta/Atlanta. There isn't a real vineyard there, but they have enough variety that everyone should find something they like. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cheese plate was delicious. They even sell things like wine stops or corkscrews. We ended up buying a case after we did the tasting. I like somewhere between sweet and dry wines. I usually go for a Reisling or some Moscatos. Rhett was a winner for me! I also enjoyed a glass of the Tailgate Red, it's on the sweeter side, but its perfect for just 1 drink. My husband is way more into wine than I am and he likes Cabernet sauvignon the most, he really liked theirs. He also liked their Reisling. Alex was the (for lack of a better word) bartender today and he was so kind and patient with us. His recommendations were spot on. We definitely plan to go back some time! read more

My husband and I attended the wine tour today, given by Adrian. He was the grandson of the doctor who started the winery and was very knowledgeable of the whole wine making process. After the tour, we went to the bar to do the free tasting with Hannah. She was also very knowledgeable about the wines we were trying. My Mom and I have been coming to this winery since the beginning of summer, all thanks to Jaden who we met up at the Rock city booth.We come here almost every other weekend since. I tried a really good green salsa that also went well with my tacos and the wine slushies are awesome. I enjoy trying the "special blends" created by the awesome staff. Please remember Georgia is not one of the premier regions of the world for wine but know this place is fun. When we arrived there was only a handful of people in the tasting room. I did the "dry" tasting and my girl did the "sweet" tasting. I tasted a couple of hers and she a couple of mine and I can say all are either sweet or citrusy. From the dry tasting, I enjoyed the Chardonnay although it tasted more like a Sauv Blanc than Chardonnay to me. Of the sweet tasting I like the blend Georgia On My Mind which was very sweet. After the tasting, we each had a glass and shared the small cheese tray. I had a glass of the Chardonnay and my girl a glass of the blueberry wine, while good, it tasted like Kool-Aid to me. If in the area, this is a fun spot to spend an hour or two. Personally, I would not travel very far to visit this winery. read more

I changed my initial three star assessment to four, because a winery shouldn't be penalized for producing wines that don't appeal to my palate. If you like sweet wine, Georgia Winery is for you. They do a lot with muscadine. Apparently the vintners know their clientele, as the place was bustling with customers when we stopped in for a wine tasting. The tasting, by the way, is great. Five samples either sweet, dry or a combination thereof. And free! The dry reds were a bit young, not wonderful. The chardonnay, priced ~ $19 was refreshing. We bought a bottle. The sweet wines -- and they produce several blends -- may be good for a sip or two post-dinner, but as said, not my bag. This is a family owned and operated business. I noticed everybody hard at work when we were there. If you're driving down 75, take a bit of a detour and check them out. They're located pretty much off the interstate. read more

They had lots of sweet to semi sweet which is unusual. My favorite was Chattaniiga Blush while my husband loved Georgia On My Mind. We also purchased both blackberry versions--yum. Location and parking: Location is right off I-75, really easy to find. Plenty of parking spots in their lot, so it would be stress free! Drinks: We did ten wine tastings, and honestly it was really hard to pick a favorite. This winery specializes in sweet wine and each one seemed to be better than the other. Two names that come to mind are blackberry blush and tailgate red. They have a four page menu of whites, reds, to dry wines; Priscilla was beyond knowledgeable about the wines, describing each wine to what kind of grapes were used and how it was flavor packed. ALSO THE SLUSHIES!! They had a frozen mojito and a frozen peach bellini and we were able to sample both. Could not pick a favorite. On a hot day, all I want are those frozen drinks. Service: Is there a way to give more than 5 stars? Because service was extraordinary. We walked around the pretty little store looking at their souvenirs, and tasting some of Georgia's finest wine. Price: The first five tastings are free, and for an additional five its only 3$. That's right, only 3$. 3$ for ten tastings. At first I thought I misheard, but y'all it is true. We went home with two bottles, each priced between 12-15$, so they are not going to break your bank either. Call it the Accidental Sandwich Diversion. During a return from a work road trip to Tennessee, I decided to be good and pull off the road for a Subway sandwich - instead of yucky, other fast food. In doing so, I inadvertently stumbled over The Georgia Winery. This was a rare find, not for the booze - but for the local jellies, jams and cheeses that they have there. I scored a number of gifts and stunning cheeses (tomato herb and garlic pepper) that were big hits with company. They were made locally, as opposed to mass-produced, which is a big deal these days. I plan on giving away the jellies as gifts, too. I did end up hitting Subway, but it was way less of the story than this place. Highly recommended for a stop if you're on I-75. read more

We are traveling from LA and RANDOMLY pulled over, deciding to do a tasting. Being close to that part of the world, we've done a few of these in our day but THIS one was hands down one of the best. Alyson (the woman who helped us) was so warm and welcoming and freakin KNOWLEDGEABLE. She was not only able to answer lots of wine questions but she answered lots of Georgia and Tennessee questions as well. :) I want to give 5 stars but we were annoyed that the credit card system here DOESN'T ALLOW someone to tip. As someone who's worked in the service industry, this is absolutely terrible an uncool to the workers. In 2019, close to everybody uses credit cards. If you don't allow an option to tip, workers don't get tips. But other than that, our experience was great and we would definitely come back. :) read more

You can't see the whole process, but our guide was amazing and of all of my wine tours, this was the most informative of not only their process, but also, wine in general! They specialize in Muscatine wine, and if you are from the west coast or anywhere out of the southern humid region, it is a sweet wine and you can't usually find it in the best quality elsewhere from my experience! Reading all of the days distressing news, feeling cooped up at home like an animal in a cage, and worrying about possible job layoffs has had me and my wife stressed to our limits. Defiantly we ventured out to Georgia Winery. To our great fortune, we met Pricilla. Her genuine caring and interest in our well-being brought us back to the comfortable norm of enjoyment and adventure that we had taken for granted only a few months prior. We paid a tiny bit extra (maybe $3) to get a Premium Tasting of ten wines. Pricilla explained each wine to detail, as if they had their own personality. First things first, those who have toured the wineries of Napa, Sonoma and Washington State will appreciate the low-keyed and unpretentious Georgia Winery. Whether the wine itself, or the winery's pricing, are appreciated is a matter of personal preference. The local vines are represented by some very sweet, and frequently, fruit flavored offerings of low complexity. I personally sampled a peach flavored white and a Syrah (dry and not unpleasant, but neither rounded nor mature). The family, however, enjoyed the peach wine and we spent $17 on a bottle and an inexpensive corkscrew-- more than a little pricey. The folks who run this shop are pleasant and eager to please. There is a wide selection of jellies, jams, honeys and syrups, and those which I sampled were very good-- albeit not worth their asking prices. They have made a lot of changes over the years and have allot of events. If you are interested in wine-tasting, this is a good place for it.

I have visited many wineries across the country, and I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Georgia Winery is the worst example of a winery I have ever experienced. Why? 1) The tasting room in Ringgold, GA was very disappointing as compared to other tasting rooms I have visited across the country. It seemed very commercially oriented, and did not have a warm and welcoming feeling. 2) The staff was rude at best. The wine waitor would only tell us the name of the wine, and I had to ask questions to pull any additional information from her. On more than one occasion, she pointed to the wine menu and said "it tells you right there". 3) The wines were not that great. I found out that their top sellers were extremely sweet wines that seemed more like juices with alcohol in them. 4) They had an area outside that you could enjoy a bottle of wine you purchased, but it was little more than a couple of unshaded picnic tables on the side of the building. The nearby freeway was loud and intrusive. The visit to the Georgia Winery was a supremely disappointing waste of time. Please do yourself a favor and skip this one. read more
