Not so impressed by their service when I went to get a coffee to go. £2 for the coffee and they refused my £20 note and insisted I pay by card which charges 50p for transactions less than £10. Coffee is good but do they really expect to compete with Costa with service like that?!

    Pancakes and porridge. Amazing

I'm from the states and this is the first time I've had porridge. Nothing to compare it to but I could eat here every day! I've also had pancakes (which I learned are scones) and they are amazing. Eggs Benedict was good although I got salmon when I ordered ham. No big deal since I like both. Service was excellent too when it was empty and packed.

Like Rob I stumbled across The Georgian while looking for a late coffee at 9pm to fill in time before my boyfriend got back from work. Costa was closed. I'd never gone past Nicolas but thought I might find somewhere. WOW. What a somewhere to find! This is the most beautiful coffee shop I've seen in ages; I loved the mismatched chairs and tables (sounds very over and familiar, but seems fresh and lovely here). There are shelves filled with colourful china and pictures, and a really pretty fruit stand, plus the usual suspects of cakes in glass covers. I had the most enormous black americano for £2.50 (very good) and if I hadn't had a box full of food ready for supper, I would gladly have persuaded the chap to stay for something to eat. Really enchanting and definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. Needless to say, will not be bothering with Costa again anytime soon.

A great addition to the local scene, their twist on a full cooked breakfast is brilliant!

Adorable little cafe featuring traditional Georgian fare, and (in my case) traditional English breakfast.

At first, the decor makes no sense. Tissue paper, dried chilliest, etc. I finally asked the…read morewaitress, Cindy about the decor and I was treated to a short history lesson. Bill the owner of 80 plus stores, originally had a shop in Brighton. All of the decor was what he had in his shop. The meal I had today has been the best meal I've had since arriving here. The service was excellent, decor a little weird but pleasant. Cindy was (our waitress) so lovely. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and was able to make suggestions in regards to the menu and of course gave us a history lesson about the company. My steak was cooked to perfectly, chips lovely, watercress just complimented it all. I also opted for a bernaise sauce to accompany it all. There is an option for garlic as well. FYI: they also have a two course or a three course menu which is available Monday to Friday, noon to 7pm. From what I saw it's a great value and the starter, main and dessert choices were very good. I wish I had dessert but I could barely finish my steak. Next time. Bill also sells a wide variety of Bill products. Oils, condiments and sauces all for sale and displayed quite prominently at the front of the store. Please see attached pictures. I really enjoyed my meal today - great good and excellent service. Thank you Cindy!!!
