My 2 y/o son has been attending The Goddard School (specifically E. Starr location) since October 2023. Prior to Goddard, my son had never been to daycare as he was always with either myself, my husband or a family member. We were pretty nervous when it came to looking for daycare options. We had toured multiple daycare facilities prior to finding Goddard and none felt like the right fit. Some were questionable, some weren't clean and some didn't feel safe enough. This one, however, checked all of our boxes. Right when you enter, you are greeted by either Jen or Sam (who are the sweetest and always have a smile on their faces). And can I just say how much I love how clean this place is!? In the beginning, my son was very shy, to himself and was a bit delayed in his speech. Now almost 8 months later and after moving up 2 classes, it's as if he's a whole new person (in a good way!) and I wholeheartedly believe it's all because of his amazing teachers: Ms. Alesea, Ms. Evelyn, Ms. Kash, Ms. Janae & Ms. Tammy. They are all so sweet, so gentle, so patient and nurturing. They've provided my son with a safe space that has allowed him to grow in many ways! His speech has improved drastically (I can actually understand what he's saying now), he sings songs, he can acknowledge his classmates by their names and looks forward to going to school every single day. My husband & I can't express enough how grateful we are for The Goddard School & their staff and look forward to watching our son continue to excel.

The teachers and staff were always caring, kind, and genuinely excited to see the kids. They also did such a great job making things fun. My girls still remember the foam parties, bounce houses, Trunk or Treat, Santa visits, and all the different taste-testing activities. There was always something special going on, and they made so many happy memories there. We always felt like our kids were safe, cared for, learning, and having fun. They entered kindergarten a step ahead and had an easy transition into elementary school. We are so thankful for our time at Coronado Prep and would definitely recommend it to other families.

The staff is kind, dependable, and deeply attentive. They treat each child as an individual, taking time to understand their strengths, needs, and personalities, and they go far beyond basic childcare with activities that support social, emotional, and academic growth. Thank you, Miss Summer and Miss Maria for their daily warmth, patience, and encouragement. Jen, the owner, is exceptional, and her passion for helping children grow is reflected throughout the entire team. Knowing my four-year-old is in such loving, capable hands brings incredible peace. I only wish I had found Coronado sooner for my older child. Five stars doesn't feel like enough--we are so grateful.

Daily structured activities, along with pictures of child sent a few times a day engaged in the activity. We liked those aspects a lot. We didn't like the chaotic staffing, inconsistent communication (after-the-fact informing), or our child being sick, often: two hospitalizations due to contracting double viruses that led to agitating respiratory distress. We get that germs happen in daycares. We were disappointed that children with obvious green mucus dripping/hanging from their noses were allowed to attend in that condition. Even having a "sick room" and removing those cases would have been prudent and thoughtful. Parents were allowed to fully enter the rooms with shoes on in this brand new facility. It seems that right protocols could have kept it clean, in more than one way. The straw for us, besides our child constantly keeping a cold, was the need for staff to double up from other rooms "until" the scheduled later arriving staff showed up. We checked the place out a week after it opened. It was calm, appeared appropriate and still had some empty rooms. A few weeks later was another story. Chaos. It was hard to understand why they built a facility with that amount of potential without planning properly for staffing...in advance. There should have been staff standing around the first week waiting for children instead of 3-4 weeks into opening, children standing around waiting for staff. That's too bad. Maybe it has turned around since that time (3 months ago). We hope so.

This daycare resembles a correctional facility more than a nurturing place!! Sure there is an adult in the room but kids just do yard time around the room. You get a photo of activity but I dare u to stop by at random times and u see no one in doing anything educational. In short 4 months where our toddler attended here less than 3days a week, we have experienced the following 1. Multiple occasions I picked her up with dried stool in her diaper. Once she ended up with UTI 2. They say diapers are changed every 2 hours but based on how often they ask us for replacement and Procare timelines that doesn't seem to be at all accurate 3. I have seen kids get yelled at. Our toddler is terrified of going in 4. In one occasion that I know of a kid gained access to a broom handle and hit another kid on the head. 5. We have picked up our kid with soaked cloths in 40 degree temp . No one knew how long she was sitting in wet cloths and why she wasn't changed 6. We picked her once wearing just a T shirt with no pants in 40 degree temp another time. Excuse was that she doesn't have any other clothing. They found 2 when we asked them to look in her cubby !? No one bothered to look ?! 7 room smells like dirty diaper at 7 AM and 5 pm regardless of when u go in . If u do a tour plz open the door and smell for I wouldn't recommend anyone to leave their kids here ! Negative reviews are 110% accurate !! Front office and maybe a couple teachers are nice but the rest just don't seem to care

My Experience With KinderCare -- Please Read Before Enrolling…read more This establishment has honestly been one of the worst experiences I have had to deal with while becoming a mother and caring for my nephew. My mother was murdered on April 18th of this year, and I had to step in and obtain custody of my nephew. His biological mother also passed away on May 21st. During this extremely difficult time, I was dealing with grief, family responsibilities, foster/kinship licensing, classes, and trying to make sure my nephew was properly cared for. When I registered him with KinderCare, I specifically asked multiple times whether there would be a copay based on what the county subsidy voucher covered. I explained that my funds were extremely limited and that, if I had a copay I could not afford, I would need to find another childcare location. I was repeatedly told that there would be no copay and that the county subsidy would cover everything. Based on that information, I enrolled my nephew and continued using the center. Then, approximately a month and a half later, I was presented with a balance of around $1,000. I was extremely upset because I had specifically asked about this before enrolling and was told there was no amount I would have to pay. When I explained the situation to management and what I had been told when I signed up, I was told that the employee who enrolled me had not been properly trained and that the manager had not been there at the time. The site director eventually told me that the balance would be removed and gave me one week to find another school if I was not going to pay tuition. I followed those instructions and made arrangements to move my nephew to another childcare provider. Despite that, KinderCare continued keeping my child in their system and continued charging the account. I had difficulty getting anyone to return my calls, and eventually the communication I received was from a collection agency attempting to collect the balance. After months of dealing with this, the situation was finally resolved. But the amount of unnecessary stress this caused me and my nephew during an already devastating period of our lives was unacceptable. There were also concerns regarding how some staff handled my nephew's personal care. One teacher told me that she had been pulling his foreskin completely back while caring for him. I noticed that this was irritating him and causing redness. I researched the proper care of an uncircumcised child and became concerned that this was not appropriate. I immediately addressed the issue with the teacher and asked her to show me exactly what she had been doing so that we could make sure there was no misunderstanding. I clearly asked that she stop pulling his foreskin back. I also experienced situations that I felt added unnecessary emotional stress. There were comments and implications about whether my nephew should participate in Father's Day activities, which was especially hurtful given everything our family had recently experienced. There were also suggestions that I should bring additional food for my child, even though providing food had never been a problem. Overall, I felt that my family was not treated with the understanding or compassion that I would have expected, especially after explaining the circumstances surrounding my nephew and our family. I am sharing my experience because I believe parents and caregivers deserve to know what questions to ask before enrolling their children and should carefully review exactly what their childcare subsidy covers and whether there are any additional charges. If anyone has questions about my experience, you are more than welcome to contact me. And if you would like to support our family during this difficult time, you are also welcome to support our GoFundMe. I hope sharing my experience helps another family avoid going through the same situation.

Our kids love going every day and come home talking about their friends, activities, and everything they've learned.
