However within the school year he was actually excelling, not because the school is easy, but because he had a true support system. His teacher would work one on one with him and gave him extra assignments that would help him get the concepts in a way he could understand and practice. It was a lot of work for my brother, but to finally be on A honor roll was priceless! I knew I wouldn't want my daughter to go anywhere else after seeing my brothers transformation. They focus on true principles and helping the students learn for themselves and enjoy the process. We love this school and feel so lucky to have found them! We also love the new campus!

It is amazing to see how far this school has come. I feel that the skills I learned from attending this school from 2nd grade through middle school have carried with me until this day. My reading and writing skills are strong and this school truly prepared me for college. As an adult now, I read quite often for fun. This academy truly focuses on a classical education, which is not a focus in public schools today. Scholars learn cursive and multiplication/division starting in second grade. These skills stay with them for the remainder of their schooling. This academy does a nice job focusing on building the skills they've learned brick by brick each school year. Now as an adult, I hope to send my own children here one day so that they can experience the same type of educational experience I had in my childhood. American Heritage Academy has a warm, friendly feeling the moment you walk in. Scholars are beyond excited to come in each day and see their classmates and teachers. My child is somewhat awkward like most preteens and has been hurt by the very unkind words of peers. Always the teacher involves the vice principle who speaks to both students and follows up with me afterward. Administration leaves classroom issues to the teachers at Coral and if they do address a situation they do not attempt to notify the student victim or their parent to "protect the other family's privacy." The teachers that we had at both schools were GREAT (6th grade teachers at Coral and 7th grade teachers at Pinecrest.) No complaints there. Administration is more communicative and helpful at Pinecrest.

They have the confidence to join clubs and teams becuase they were given leadership opportunities at St. . Viator. My sixth graders is involved in so many extra curricular activities and keeps a full schedule while being held to a high academic standard. St. Viator keeps God at the core of all they do. This school teaches to give back to volunteer and help others less fortunate through campus ministry and homeless lunch. They learn this important life skill from PreK and continues past St. Viator. This school also has every extracurricular activity you can imagine: chess club, cooking club, band, choir, cantor, art club, pottery, book club, student government, cheerleading, numerous sports for grades 5-8 and even some sports for grades 3&4, and many more. There are incredible events both social and fundraising including back to school BBQ, Halloween carnival, fish fry (with the parish), winter festivals, movie night, jr high dances, fun runs, fashion shows, foundation galas, and many many more. The most special events are those for 8th graders including their class trip to WA DC and all the events in the month of May. The curriculum is superb, and I have been impressed with the education and support our children have received. We are also very happy that some of the teachers from our previous school are now at St. Viator. My oldest has known some of these teachers since kindergarten, so having familiar faces and teachers who already know our family has made the transition and experience even more special for us. When we first arrived, I felt that the administration needed some attention, but I have definitely seen improvement over the years. One of the biggest blessings for our family has been the St. Viator community. Coming to Las Vegas without having family here, having a school community that feels supportive and welcoming has meant so much to us. We are happy with the school and staff. Coming from the over-crowded, over-stretched public school system, we are relieved to see our children accepted and not just doing well, but thriving. The upper campus kids especially love the block scheduling, as they are able to truly get some valuable class time in each subject. The homework is a perfect blend of rehashing the days learning and getting prepared for the exams. The teachers actually get to know the kids since class size is never a problem. My 4th grader loves his teacher, and with that comes respect and a desire to be the best student he can become. And being a Christian school, the true focus is on a rounded and grounded Cristian education. As with all schools, there are mistakes that have been made, and there are the occasional small problem. But the difference is that the staff and leadership truly will try to correct them. A parent is always welcome to speak with any of the staff, and the superintendent holds monthly meetings where anyone can come and voice concern or praise. What more could a parent want?
