This information can be verified with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration - Publication# 73. I visited Legacy Jewlers to have my wife's rings resized. Upon the initial visit I met with one of the owners, Kevin who was very friendly and was able to assist us with determining the proper sizing of the ring. He mentioned it would take about a week to complete. The cost to resize (1 size down) a gold ring and platinum ring was $120. When picking up the rings I met with the other owner, Nick. He included sale's tax even though CA sale's tax is only applicable to purchasing materialistic items and not services. I explained that CA sale's tax is not applicable to services and he could verify this information with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) which is the CA State Department that administers the Seller's Permit which is required to operate the business. I even offered to show him exactly where this information could be found on the CDTFA website since he had a computer nearby. He declined and said he wasn't changing how he charges customers even though he refunded me the illegally charged sale's tax. It was interesting to encounter a business owner oblivious to the law while declining to learn and apply the law to prevent an audit, fees, and potential Seller's Permit revocation by the CDTFA.

This place rocks. I have sold gold in here that I was quoted a lot less for from other places. For a place like this to survive in our tiny town they are doing something very right, which is having a very low markup on what they make on gold/silver! very cool! I've been searching high and low for a solid gold Miami Cuban chain and I decided to go with Gold Digger because Regina gave me excellent customer service and also had the best quality for the price. This is the only local coin shop I can recommend in the ENTIRE Sacramento county area. The transactions are straight forward, the prices are the best hands down, and he always seems to have something available (unlike the other places I've been which, I'm convinced, play with their inventory to get you to pay a higher price). I had some jewelries to sell and wanted to get some quotes. I was helped by Ngoc. I asked if they buy back golds and jades. They only buy golds. She looked through my jewelries and weighed them. 24k and 18k have different prices. She gave me a quote and it was really generous. Of course it is based on the current gold stock price. During the whole process, Ngoc was really helpful, patient and not pushy at all. She didn't pressured us on buying or selling. My sister asked if they clean golds and they do. Ngoc looked at my sister's necklace and told her that it still looks good so it doesn't need to be cleaned yet. Really trustworthy and reliable. We ended up selling our golds here. Ngoc made sure that I placed the money in a safe place like inside my pockets until I get inside my car. Putting them in my purse is more dangerous that way. Wow, she's just amazing. I will definitely come back here if I ever need to buy or sell golds in the future. Oh, Ngoc speaks really good English!
