Very fun atmosphere and great happy hour M-F til 7. And $5 wells all day! They have pool tables, darts, etc. with a variety of seating options. Plenty of nearby parking, too. Golden Horn also has Yellow Ranger onsite for food, which has vegan options!

The Golden Horn is such a swell spot. It's got a spacious layout with pool tables, decent size bar and seating. I like that they have traditional seating along with 70s-style upholstered booths, sofas, etc. Depending on the amount of people in your party, there is seating to accommodate. I'm a big fan of frozen drinks and they make some really good ones. Like knock your socks off good and be careful not to drink too many good. So it gets pretty busy at certain times but I like that whether it's super busy or not you're still able to grab a seat with friends and be able to hear each other talking. It's such a friendly place to spend time and we've actually met a lot of new friends there. Food is yum, from Yellow Ranger and that will be a separate review. It's also cool that our dog is treated like a king when he's there. Because, well, he is.

Very cool bar that's good a lot more atmosphere on the inside versus what you see on the outside. Good prices also.

Finally came one Saturday because heard great things about the bar and yellow ranger. Dark and moody, it's a good place to grab a drink or hang with friends. Not sure if it was that day, but there was no AC and it was extremely warm inside (even warmer with all the people). Bar seating is limited, but there are tables and chairs in the back near the bathroom. If you come to watch a game, recommend sitting at the bar only as this is the only place with a tv. The seating in the bar has no tv. For bar service, it's okay. The initial person at the bar seemed in a bad mood and avoided all customers, but she could have been having a bad day. Another bartender came over and took our drink orders, he was super friendly and helpful with navigating the beer and cocktail menu. DRINKS Espresso martini- 5/5 Not sickly sweet, strong coffee flavor. Rim is chocolate Old Fashioned-5/5 This one is on draft, but great balance and recommend if you're looking for something to sip on Jellyfish IPA-5/5 You can never go wrong with a jellyfish lol FOOD So food is not actually by The Golden Horn, but another business called The Yellow Ranger which is right by the bar area. To order food, you can the QR code (you will find a bunch around) and order your food. The staff will then bring it over. Egg rolls-4/5 Deliciously crispy, not cheap on the filling, great with the chili dipping sauce. And not overly greasy and salty. Good for a quick bite at the bar Queso dip-2/5 Loved the combo of ingredients (especially the black garlic) but WAYY too salty--so much that it was hard to get the actual taste of the garlic and chili. Served with chips and a side of steamed broccoli. The broccoli really helped cut all the salt and fat. But because the chips were already salted and the queso was salty, it was salt on salt Loaded Fries-3/5 Nice thick slices of fried potatoes topped with green onions, lime aioli, chili crisp, cilantro. The top pieces were good, but by the middle and bottom they were extremely salty (same issue like the queso dip), greasy (soggy with oil). Recommend coming here for a drink, but unfortunately wouldn't come back for the food.

Cool bar with dart boards. The problem? They only have two boards. Beyond that, the food is pretty good and the drinks are as well.

There are a lot of tables and there was a big screen up to watch basketball when I visited! I haven't sat inside, but it looks nice as well and much quieter / at least when I visited. Service: 4/5 Had no issues, just ordered at the counter and voi la! Friendly person took our order & the only complaint is there were no cups outside for water - think it's just busy and this happens! Food & Beer 4/5: I had the magic carpet sour and it was very good, although I will say it isn't as sour as a typical sour would be. Nice drink overall and I think someone who isn't a sour fan may still enjoy it - it gives more cider honestly. My friend and I split the veggie quesadillas and the chips and salsa. The veggie quesadilla was good, the mushrooms they put in it were fab - I wouldn't say it's exceptional for the price but it was good. The chips and salsa were also good, but the salsa was a much thicker green and cilantro based something - I wouldn't exactly call it salsa, but it was good, just a bit misleading. I think they should add a descriptor on the menu, salsa usually means red unless otherwise noted imop.

Gonna get busted at Busty's…read more This is my favorite dive bar in Austin. This place has personality and charm oozing out the wazoo. You can already tell this place has got character and kitsch to spare. The interior design has an old 70s biker bar with pool tables galore. When you go outside, there are so many artifacts of old on display making the ambience much more immersive. As for the food, I got the chicago dog and onion petals and my friends got various other dishes that we all shard. Perfect bar food. It's bar food so you just gotta expect bar food. But it was all still really good. The fries and petals were seasoned really well and I also got an espresso martini which was heavenly. I wish it had the bean though. The hot dog really got me correct.

Many things don't have a price listed so you have to trust in good faith that what you pay for is accurate. When I chose to print a receipt? NOTHING. When I emailed the business for one? NOTHING. When I called the establishment? NO ANSWER. When I followed up on social media? IGNORED. Speaking of calling...when you call, you get a porn chick voice recording and then the call ends. Blue balls and no progress. This is frustrating, confusing and hot??? Lol I hate this place. What I love: it's A retro bar with 70s and 80s porn vibes, chartreuse velvet seating, and an eclectic/varied/assorted drink and food menu with throwbacks to fast food menus from Generation X and millennial childhood. Porn posters on the wall. 70s color scheme and decor. And so much inside and outside seating that you wonder how it doesn't translate from the outside. From the outside, it looks like a mid so-so burger joint...but inside, it's huge and it has all of these different outside areas. It has inside/outside vibes. They shield the outside areas from the drama/noise of the city with big plant covered fence walls and other fences. It's nice. I loved the vibes. Loved the staff. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the parking. The parking lot FEELS like it's going to be tight but the truth is there is lots of parking. It's just a popular place with parking filled up all of the time. Loved the mix of the crowd. Loved the food menu. Everything was a hit. Flavorful bar food done very well. I loved my spicy jalapeño flavored loaded waffle fries. I can't tell you how much they were with the add ons and no receipt (shady people) but I want 10 more orders of them. F!ck it. My mojito was so refreshing. God might not want anything to do with this place, BUT GOD I LOVE THIS PLACE. BE TRANSPARENT WITH YOUR PRICES AND HOW YOU CHARGE, PLEASE.

As a fellow Asian, I was…read moresurprised at the quality of Asian food the restaurant is churning out and must say very impressed. Also as a vegetarian, I absolutely loved the plethora of vegetarian options available to me. First off the atmosphere is so great. I love the bar vibes and interior - it is cozy and slightly more upscale than a dive bar with comfy chairs. They have a pool table and dim lighting but not too dark where I need a flashlight to see what I am eating. We came on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too crowded and we were able to find a table for 6. You just find a table, sit down and order via QR code and someone brings you the food. The dishes I got included yellow Ranger fries which were really sliced potatoes that were perfectly crispy served with aioli and chili crisp and was absolutely delicious. I also got the Dan Dan noodles with tofu which was a good size portion - the tofu was perfectly crisp and the noodles were Al dente and the sauce was pretty good though I wish it had just a little more sesame paste. As a table we shared the black garlic queso and oh my gosh was that delicious I was worried the black garlic may overpower the queso, but it didn't and added a nice umami punch without making it overly salty. Drinks wise that's where the bar comes in and they do have a water station. Parking is free with lot attached and it is small so there was plenty of street parking as well. Also the reviewers rating the place lower because of QR code menu is very strange to me as since COVID I feel most restaurants have shifted to using QR codes to browse menus and order. We came in as a group of 6 and we all found it much easier to order via QR code and individually pay for our own food. Not sure why others had issues with it. We all have our phones and printed menus often come stained/items out of orders/prices aren't accurate.

The Wok Fried Green Beans had a thick sauce, like one that's been corn-starched. I didn't like this one either. The green beans were very undercooked. My dining companion said the Taiwanese Fried Chicken was just so so.
