Gonna get busted at Busty's This is my favorite dive bar in Austin. This place has personality and charm oozing out the wazoo. You can already tell this place has got character and kitsch to spare. The interior design has an old 70s biker bar with pool tables galore. When you go outside, there are so many artifacts of old on display making the ambience much more immersive. As for the food, I got the chicago dog and onion petals and my friends got various other dishes that we all shard. Perfect bar food. It's bar food so you just gotta expect bar food. But it was all still really good. The fries and petals were seasoned really well and I also got an espresso martini which was heavenly. I wish it had the bean though. My boyfriend and I have been regulars here for the past year, coming in every 1-2 weeks, spending $50-$100 per visit, and always tipping 20%. Last week, I tried the Mezquito. The drink was good, but the tab felt high. I had watched two bartenders pour a strict 1 oz of Mezcal Union, so I asked the bartender today how much the drink cost. She told me $13. When I noted that felt a bit steep for a 1 oz pour, she shut down and said she didn't set the prices. Later, I was chatting with my boyfriend about how neither Busty's nor Frazier's list drink prices on their menus. The customer sitting next to me jumped into my conversation and said she was just saying the same. I mentioned the Mezquito was $13 for a 1 oz pour. The bartender overheard, looked annoyed, and snapped, "It's actually 1.5 oz." I am unsure why she did not say this earlier when I had first asked. I later tried to smooth things over, suggesting that maybe a newer bartender had just under-poured last week by mistake, adding that 1.5 oz was completely reasonable for the price. Instead of de-escalating, she told me I was cut off because she "didn't appreciate" me talking about the prices to other guests. I am writing this review right after leaving and I think it's clear that I'm not drunk. I have never seen a guest treated so poorly--let alone a regular--simply for discussing menu prices. I love Busty's Bar & Jukebox DOWN. To HELL and back. But let me start with what I don't like about this MF-er: these fools do not know how to give you a receipt for what you order. Many things don't have a price listed so you have to trust in good faith that what you pay for is accurate. When I chose to print a receipt? NOTHING. When I emailed the business for one? NOTHING. When I called the establishment? NO ANSWER. When I followed up on social media? IGNORED. Speaking of calling...when you call, you get a porn chick voice recording and then the call ends. Blue balls and no progress. This is frustrating, confusing and hot??? Lol I hate this place. What I love: it's A retro bar with 70s and 80s porn vibes, chartreuse velvet seating, and an eclectic/varied/assorted drink and food menu with throwbacks to fast food menus from Generation X and millennial childhood. Porn posters on the wall. 70s color scheme and decor. And so much inside and outside seating that you wonder how it doesn't translate from the outside. From the outside, it looks like a mid so-so burger joint...but inside, it's huge and it has all of these different outside areas. It has inside/outside vibes. They shield the outside areas from the drama/noise of the city with big plant covered fence walls and other fences. It's nice. I loved the vibes. Loved the staff. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the parking. The parking lot FEELS like it's going to be tight but the truth is there is lots of parking. It's just a popular place with parking filled up all of the time. Loved the mix of the crowd. Loved the food menu. Everything was a hit. Flavorful bar food done very well. I loved my spicy jalapeño flavored loaded waffle fries. I can't tell you how much they were with the add ons and no receipt (shady people) but I want 10 more orders of them. F!ck it. My mojito was so refreshing. After the World Cup final this past Sunday a few friends and I stopped by this bar for some snacks and drinks. What a fun vibe! Everyone was super nice and helpful. My phone was about to die. It seemed like everyone's iPhones were getting overheated that day because it was so hot and the World Cup final was happening, and they kindly gave me a charge which I very much appreciated! One friend got some snacks as well. I forgot to get a photo of the food. I think one was fries and the other was ribs. I took a Monday trip to see a matinée, something out of the ordinary according to 3 Stacks, at AFS and was stunned to see that the drive back to Hutto would be well over an hour thanks to rush hour traffic. My co-worker that I attended the screening with suggested taking refuge at Busty's right across the highway. What goes on at Busty's? 8 ball, a working jukebox with CDs, huge tables, Die Spitz photo shoots, and plenty of Miller High Life to go around. Busty's feels straight out of the 70s with a little touch of modern flavor. They have a vibrant menu with tons of specialty drink options like their BUSTEES spiked ICEE clones, piña coladas, Blue Hawaiians, plenty of beers in bottles and cans and on draft, plus numerous High Life-based drinks. High Life is easily the best beer to ever exist, so a few different ways to get it is awesome. They sell frozen Spaghetts with frozen High Life, Aperol, and orange juice, which I tried and was stunned by the flavor. Cold drinks like that aren't normally for me, but it was good. It's just something you have to drink slowly. Their turbo time section of the menu offers two boilermakers of either a High Life pony or High Life draft with a shot of Jim Beam. They also have what they call a Monte Carlo, which is a pony with Montenegro. I know a boilermaker is about taking a shot with a beer, but as someone who lives on edge, I dumped my shot of Montenegro into my half drunk High Life pony and mixed the two like a Spaghett to excellent results. The rest of the night I proceeded to play a very terrible game of 8 ball and throw a dollar or two into the jukebox to listen to Sade and Willie Hutch. Their jukebox is filled with only 8/10 or better albums. If $1 can get me to play all of Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters, I'm all in. What a selection, worth checking out yourself. The only downside is you're paying Austin drink prices at Busty's, but other than that it's a great place to hang out, especially while trying to wait out the rush. First time visiting Bustys and I will be going back!!! What an eclectic place to hang with friends and have snacks and cocktails. We arrived and decided to sit outside in the shade. It was comfy and perfect day to enjoy sunlight. The menu is so amazing. They have taken chemistry to new heights with all the creative drink combos. They have ones with slurpee mixed in and all you can dream up. They also have full bar if you have a favorite drink. We ordered two drinks each and was kind of surprised there are no prices on the menu lol we didn't know how much each cost until checkout. The service is good here and our drinks came very quickly. This has easily become my favorite spot in Austin. The nostalgia, the VIBE, the wings, all IMMACULATE. If you want the most delicious wangz of your life, hit them up on either a T/Th but don't discount the rest of their menu. They were voted one of the best burgers in Austin this past year, and I'm happy to confirm, the burgers definitely SLAP. Parking is a bit chaotic and space can be tricky to claim but it's all part of the charm/fun. I want people to know about this place so it stays open but I dont want too many people to know about it because it has now taken top spot in my heart and I would be devastated if it becomes too cool for me to love. They also have a regular menu with items ranging from burgers to breakfast buns, with a tons of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to choose from, and all within a reasonable price. The bar itself is gives nostalgic vibes with the juke box, cigarette dispenser, and photo booth. You are welcome to seat yourself but the staff were friendly and very attentive. The 70s are alive and well (in the most fab way) at Busty's! One of the owners also owns several other popular and fun spots throughout Austin. The walls are adorned with vintage-style beer adverts and there's a Corvette hanging from the ceiling. They've got a large patio, Photo Booth, billiards room, and more. My favorite is Bustees, the frozen drink machine! Because, you've guessed it, they're amazing. Bar fare that reflects comfort food at its finest. Food and booze prices are really affordable. First time at Busty's this past Thursday around 7! It is self seating (not my fave) and all the inside booths were taken but we snagged seats at the bar. There is also plenty of outdoor seating. The two female bartender's were lovely, very attentive refilling water and drinks. I had a dirty martini (it was good, but very dirty. My fault for not specifying lightly dirty) and my friend had two cocktails off their cocktail menu and she loved both. I found the prices to be very fair for drinks in Austin- $12 martini and $14 cocktails. I love that the food menu has a cool random assortment of things that are all ordered singular and priced very fair- like an $8 turkey wrap. Perfect for when you want to eat and don't want to be tempted by fries! But don't worry- you can add on their famous, sparkly waffle fries for $7. They were AMAZING. Good portion for two, fried so crispy and seasoned so well, plus, they have edible glitter sprinkled on! We also shared the mushroom queso- good portion for $7 and the mushroom cheesy taste so good. A little two many jalapeno slices for the small cup size but if you love jalapenos you will be happy. I really enjoyed the cool retro vibes and you have to make sure to check out the bathrooms- cooler than the restaurant themselves! A group of us went here for a drink and was a fun find this is. It's new and has a retro feel to it. Our waitress was attentive and the drink menu and bar is extensive. We got a cozy semi circle booth and enjoyed the atmosphere. I tried one of their frozen tequila drinks and was told it's handmade and not on one of those premade machines. The manager was extremely rude and as it was our first visit. I would never be back unfortunately not due to the food or drink quality, but due to a very rude manager and poor structure. After a stressful week, this was a great place to let off steam with a drink and snacks. Glad to have this place nearby. Kind of a modern dive bar with an ode to 60s/70s. This used to be the Cenote space and they've totally transformed the interior. There are two outdoor areas. One in the front and another to the side and back. The front outdoor area has a pool table as well and the one out back has a covered area to it as well that is perfect when it's raining. Inside there's a large bar top and plenty of banquette style seating. You can order from the bar or from the staff circulating the bar. The drinks are super cool. I really liked their blue Hawaiian. There's a sizable parking lot as well but I can imagine that it gets pretty busy here right after work so might want to go later if you are going here on a weekday. read more

I think 4-stars is perfect for Busty's! It is one of my favorite dive-style bars in town. Food is tasty, priced right and varied enough to be interesting. There is some occasional inconsistency with the seasoning and prep, but overall, this is exactly the kind of food I crave when I'm having a laid-back beer. They have a nice patio area out back for the pups. Service is normally good, but can be a bit slow at times if you happen to be there at shift change. The drinks and food are all priced fantastically low, and our city needs more of that. I wish I could give them a 4.5, but they just don't do quite enough to elevate to a full 5-star. read more

The upside-down Corvette is fun, but I didn't drink enough to feel comfy sitting under it. The crowd was fun. I had the strange feeling that I knew the people who flowed in, even though I didn't actually. My boozySlurpee was great, but they also have a solid and reasonably priced bar for non-froufrou drinx. Food wise, we tried the Onion Petals, which our lovely server described well as a "deconstructed blooming onion." The Taquitos were okay but pricey at $3 each. Last night was my first visit to Busty's, and I was impressed! I went with a group and we all paid separately, which I know can be annoying for servers. But Michelle didn't seem to mind at all - she was amazing. She was attentive without being intrusive, gave a great drink recommendation (Melon Baller FTW!), and was incredibly kind ... even after I accidentally gave a thumbs down when the survey asked about service when I obviously meant the opposite. Oops! Which leads to my one small request: please add a "back" button to the questionnaire in case some idiot (read: me) hits the wrong button. This place is an experience for the nostalgic. We were visiting Austin to spend time with family. My niece took us to Busty's. When we sat in one of the many large circle booths, 8 people, I immediately thought of the Regal Beagle from Three's Company. The decor was very vintage 60s-70s upon first glance. Old Pearl, Jax and Lone Star beer lights adorned the perimeter of the main room. I did not eat there but really enjoyed the several Pit Stop, Miller High Life pony bottle and shot of Jim Beam. Delicious food and drinks, their waffle fries are so good and probably the best I've ever had. The seasoning they use is amazing, although pretty salty. The burgers taste homemade, and they have a nice selection of sweet drinks to choose from. However, when we arrived, we went outside and nobody ever came out to get our order.
