So we got "squeezed in" 30 minutes late and it was treated as a favor to me. When I asked for a bucket of balls ($15 on a $500 round for 4) the guy at the pro shop pushed back telling me he had no proof and this rarely happens. Yeah it never happens to me so that's on you. He finally gave it to me after a conversation. The tee boxes are really rough. With direct sunlight feels like an effort/cost saving measure, I'd understand if they were covered by shade and idk trees but that's not the case. Lastly the greens were just punched, which I understand this time of year, but they clearly cut back on the sand. Every other punch hole was empty of sand causing the greens to play like a plunk board. I give two stars cause the fairways and rough were decent. $125 really not worth it. read more

This was a great volunteer opportunity for Women in Golf Foundation and TGA. The grounds were kept very well and the staff was super friendly. I can see how people can lose track of time out there. It was so peaceful and the HBCU athletes really did a great job! The food selection at the banquet was pretty good and the favorite was the brisket that was unexpectedly tender. read more

I stopped playing Cinco Ranch (we started calling it Stinko Ranch) golf club years ago because of the terribly slow pace of play. Unfortunately for me, it is the closest driving range and putting green to where I live in West Houston. I went to the driving range on Friday late afternoon in hopes of hitting some balls and working on my putting. The young man at the Pro Shop stood there and stared at me, waiting for me to engage him, complete lack of customer service. Every time I enter the Pro Shop it is clear that I am inconveniencing them. $15 for a large bucket of balls...ridiculously expensive, especially for what you get. Then, have to take your receipt and go to the surly gentleman working in the starter shack. No words spoken...snatches the ticket out of your hand and gives you a partially-filled bucket of old, nasty range balls that look like they had better days back in the 1990's! The only redeeming quality the starter has is that he plays good music! The putting green was closed because apparently they are unable to grow grass in Houston. The driving range is a joke. No grass to hit off of (at least you can practice your right lies!) and hardly any poles / flags to aim at: I lasered targets at 40 yds, 90 yds, 130 yds, 190 yds and 240 yds. Not sure about others but some semi-standard flags distributed across the range at reasonable yardages can't cost all that much...especially at $15/bucket!! 50 yds, 100 yds, 125 yds, 150 yds, 175 yds, 200 yds, 250 yds makes sense to me! read more

Went here to hit the range with 3 of my buddies, then got harassed by the starter hut worker, I think his name is Milton. But we had a member in my group and the worker thought we were sharing those balls but we each had bought our own bucket yet we got harassed for it. This sucked because I was in such a good flow state that got ruined. I went from locked in to geeked. Simple mistake on the worker that got handled poorly. Lowkenuinley disappointed. read more

Been a member to this course for a year, Love its layout and management. Pro shop people are super friendly and respectful. Need to replace the starter shack guys with the same vibe that pro shop offers. A lot of people including myself have been offended multiple times by the starter shack staff. It's a damage to the reputation of an organization. My friends have asked if I would recommend them to be members at cinco and I have always been hesitant just for the above reason. Course is beautiful. Had a great time. The course general is a turd though. Power tripping I guess. Showed up p 2 hours before tee time and checked in. You have to go to the shack to get range balls and your cart. The head dude out there refused to give me a cart stating that there are more golfers coming. There were at least 30 carts available and I stated that I didn't understand his logic. At 12 minute tee time spacing there was no possible way that he could fill all those carts in the 15 minutes he had me wait before I could get a cart. Everyone else there were great. Only advice would be an attitude adjustment at the cart shack. His rude attitude and tone were ridiculous. read more

There are a few wonderful people who work here and really care for the golfers/customers. The course is on decent shape and very busy. The grumpy dude at the starter shack is only nice to you if you stroke his ego/or if he's in a decent mood. He is a detriment to the club and pisses many nice people off. A good club manager would be looking for his replacement. Grumpy is there most of the time and picks and chooses favorites. Everyone else he treats like an annoyance simply for being there. I used to love this place. I guess under new management things have really changed to include the prices which are ridiculous. None of the carts have GPS, the beer girl was only seen one time. Sorry to say but the new management is horrible, but just give it time I sure the GM will get fired here soon due to $$ and lack of experience with his staff. For this price, I'm going somewhere else, with friendlier staff, and better equipment. For other golf courses around I would definitely take advantage of this and take their members away. Played here on Sat, Nov 12 ......... I do not have a problem with the course itself, just the amenities. The course: I would give it 4.5 stars : The greens, fairways and traps were all in good to very good shape. The golf cart was a piece of crap with a chunk missing out of the seat and a transmission that felt like it kicked you in the seat every time you hit the gas. Price's : Not a $100 + facility anymore. The inside bar/restaurant was closed (this was at 2:30) ....... The snack bar outside : $6 for a Diet Coke and Snickers bar ? $12.50 for a beer and a hot dog ? Customer Service - Using EVERY TIME is not an exaggeration. Every time you call to speak to someone at the Pro Shop or Member services there is no answer. No call backs. No help. I have canceled my membership since it's not worth it. I had the guy at the range shack question my use of 3 buckets of balls and say if I need to use 3 buckets I need lessons because I shouldn't need that many balls. Unreal. read more

Came for Father's Day as they were the only course with an early enough tee time. Didn't realize how nastily overpriced they are. Carts were garbage and the plastic seats were torn and kept pinching the backs of my legs. Fire ant hills were all over the course, so trying to avoid them was a pain. The bunkers were rock hard. You'd think that they would take better care of the course when they're charging golfers $96 a round. The starter was rude, the carts weren't ready in the morning, and we were just overall disappointed. The course might have been worth it for $50 a round. Take your $96 and go play Blackhorse instead to get a day worth your money. read more

This place has gone downhill. Tee boxes are chewed up, greens are not maintain (use to be the best in town), fairways are bad shape etc. I use to excited about playing this course but now it's junk. We used to play here all the time and just like everyone else is saying it has gone downhill but the price has not. When I went to pay for my round and he said $94.50 my response was "I'm just paying for one." Which he must hear all the time because he barked back "That IS for one." What does that tell you about the cost value relationship here? This place used to be $60-65 dollars. I've paid $100 bucks at other places before but the course was immaculate, the carts were brand new and had GPS. You could even order food from the cart. Long story short, this course is definitely not worth $94.50 a round. If you are going to increase cost you have to increase value in some way to make it worth it. read more

Decided to spread my wings and play at a non cypress course. Booked the t time and was a little leery of them asking for a credit card to hold the spot. Sure why not? Show up and the green fee is EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS. Their "weekend price". Holy crap. I've played at golf courses designed by famous golfers for about the same price this place must be top notch. Nope. Range balls? Extra. Really? You charge for range balls that I got for free at pinehurst with my green fee? Everyone acts all uppity there. So to the course. They do have gps in all their carts so that's awesome. But 85 dollars awesome? Negative. The course was dry for the most part. Not in bad shape but not 85 dollars in shape. Just not worth the money. I attended a golf event with the Houston Players this last Sunday at Cinco Ranch Golf course. This place has changed a lot since they changed management. The carts do not have the GPS devises any more. The golf ball washers were all empty on 17 holes. We only found one with water on the entire golf course. The game was very slow... it took us 5 hrs to complete the round. The kitchen is disorganized and very slow on prepping the food. We only saw the beer girl twice during the 5 hrs of playing. No wonder the "Ladies at Cinco Ranch" don't play there any more and changed their name to "K Ladies".... read more

GM asked me to reach out to him, sent him two emails and a voice mail and he never followed up. Our golf cart died on 8 and took over 10 mine for someone to come. Next visit it rained but Shane assist golf pro would not give a rain check, and that we needed to wait it out. Shane had poor people skills and was not friendly. The neighborhood golf course with a professional staff and nice practice area. Of all the times I played here, not once did the staff mistreat me or anyone at the course. Which is nice considering how snobby most course attendee's are. Not too long or challenging. Black: 6922 Blue: 6396 White: 5822 Red: 5167 The course it's self is in ok condition minus the greens, which is not too bad considering the drought we had in 2011. Carts all have GPS which is awesome, and the layout is pretty nice, especially 11, 12, 16 and 18. There are some huge turtles and snails here, better Keep a club with you for self defense at all times. Minuses: 1. Green with tons of dead spots, very slow and uneven. 2. Flags for all pins are the same color(Red) which makes it tough to get distances unless you have a range finder. Food: Club Sandwich- Pretty average, but not bad for a club house. Turkey sandwich- Decent, bread a bit soggy. Over all not too bad for club house foods, but I'd skip that and focus on the course. read more

While on a course a man started yelling slurs and getting physical towards young women of color doing nothing to them and in response the worker follows the ladies to the parking lot calling THEM aggressive. Alongside that, almost 100 for a course covered in ant hills and the carts were torn and worn out, not worth anyones money. read more

For how much money this golf course brings in you would think they would have a decent driving range or invest money into their facility a little more. You're hitting on dirt 7 days a week 365 days a year. Half the range balls you get in a bucket are absolute shit. They're dead, cracked, missing the covering, horrible. Pace of play is atrocious. Be ready to play a 6 hour round of golf because they never have a marshal on the course to keep the pace up. Again, this is the busiest course in West Houston so you know they're making dough, a lot of it, yet nothing ever changes. read more

one star is a generous rating considering our horrible experience with staff and specifically Tera. There are no specific hours of operation and they close sporadically depending on how the staff feels. When I asked when they close and if we could stop in for a quick drink between the 18 holes we were treated as if we were the scum of the earth and given attitude for simply asking questions. We were also told we could not sit inside to enjoy a beverage and warm up and I have never heard of a nice golf course or club house treating it's guest this way. We were considering a membership but there is no doubt we will take our business elsewhere and make sure the golf community in this area knows what a horrible experience we had. Today was our first time playing here and our last. I paid and told the cashier that I never played there before. He gave me the receipt so I assumed the golf carts had the keys in them however that was not the case. We had to go back in and ask, where do we get the keys. The cashier just answered, see starter. Well, where is the starter?? The cashier, who was in his late 40s/early 50s was just rude. Then we went to get beer and the bar/restaurant did not have beer....?? So, we had to go to the snack bar to get the beer. So, once we got to the starter, we were 4 mins late. The starter then said to my father-in-law that we had to pull over and wait. So I asked, how long do we have to wait and was told 20 mins. So in the end, my boyfriend asked and we were allowed to play. The people are just rude there. We play golf all the time. Their range opens less than 50% of the time. They close for no specific reasons. If there was sprinkle rain they will close for two or more days. They said there will be golf group classes 5 times a week, but that also rarely happens. Im looking to cancel Archis players membership. read more

The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is a good public golf course and is kept in great shape which is quite an accomplishment with all of the traffic it gets. I used to be a member but quit for two reasons. 1) They allow fivesomes on this golf course so you have to constantly wait between shots. The fivesomes will never let you play through and don't care how slow they golf. There is one fivesome that will play from the black tees on a couple of holes even though they play from the white tees on the others. When talking with the management they either tell us that they don't allow fivesomes or they play faster than a foursome which is totally untrue. 2) The golf course can't be used to establish an official handicap because it has not been rated by GHIN. I have asked them for the last year and a half when they are going to get the course rated by GHIN so you can use your handicap at different courses for tournaments. Each time that I asked they tell me next month. This has been going on for the last year and a half. I don't think they have any plan to get this course re-rated. read more

When I booked our tee time at this course, they didn't bother to mention that the course is under renovation and three holes are closed. We found that out only upon reaching those holes. Moreover, we're in the middle of the coronavirus restrictions, yet they insisted on two players to a cart in direct contravention of both CDC and Fort Bend County guidelines. This will be an initial review for reasons explained below: 1) Went here 5 times to get the dust off the clubs, and my swing, for the driving range- at $10 a large bucket--a bit hefty but I get it--it's a muni. Not a problem in and of itself but that on my 6th time the person in the clubhouse JUST told me about a membership for $55/month for unlimited balls, $20 greens fees after 2pm, 20% off anything in the clubhouse-----uhhhhhhhhhhh, maybe could have told me from day 1 before spending that much in balls already? Okay 1/2 a strike 2) So I show up today in the a.m.--card works like a charm for the balls--and hitting better now-about ready to play a round in a couple of weeks without complete embarrassment, so I go to head back after the storm passes because it was BEAUTIFUL out--well I show up and no one was in the starter shack for my balls--go to clubhouse--manager says they have shut down for the day because it was too wet.....storm stopped a couple of hours ago?!?!?!? and no standing water on the pitch that I could tell from my walk over there. So....I'm not golf course snob and I obviously get the fact I did not pay $10k for a membership here--but holiday and golf go hand-in-hand---a bit weird for it to be closed and folks were still playing their round--daylight was out in full force and it was beautiful. I still plan on going and going again over here--it is right around the corner from my buddy's place where I'm staying for right now but I hope that is the worst of the issues---I can deal with the fact that they don't keep water buckets on the practice pitch consistently, or that they don't have bag racks their consistently either, or the #1 issue listed above---I just want to play golf--no hassles, no drama, just me, the ball, and my clubs--- I'll write another review when I start playing some rounds over there... read more

I went here last Saturday to play super twilight. It was only $25 per person with cart after 4PM. We started a little after 5PM. Apparently a lot of other people had the same idea and it was pretty packed when we got there. There was a group immediately before us that we had to wait on, which forced the group behind us to wait as well. The course is not particularly challenging. I would rate it medium difficulty, and this is coming from a total hack. There are some obstacles and places to easily lose balls, but there are no real intimidating fairways. For the most part, the fairways were flat and straight. There were some large water hazards to avoid, but the GPS carts made them more than manageable. First thing that comes to mind is this course is huge. I don't mean distance wise, but it is very spread out. You will cross many bridges and zigzag through various residential areas. You could easily get lost trying to find a shortcut back to the clubhouse if you are not familiar with the layout. The course was very well kept. Greens were firm and fairways were well groomed. I particularly liked the GPS carts they provided and found them to be very useful and fairly accurate. We were unable to finish the full 18 because we had to wait for the group ahead of us (it became too dark to find your ball). However we did finish 16 holes which is more than enough for me to provide a fair assessment of the course. Despite being crowded, I found the pace at Cinco Ranch to be comfortable. If you are playing solo and just want to finish a round quickly, super twilight may not be the best time for you to give it a go. Due to the GPS carts, fair prices, and well kept condition, I rate this course 4 stores and recommend trying it out. I know I will be back to try this place out during normal business hours. read more
