I'm so glad I did this because I actually ended up finding a paddle that would have never been on my radar otherwise. Finding the right paddle for my style has absolutely elevated my game. So many people throw hundreds of dollars blindly on a paddle they've never tried. Im glad I didn't do that as I'm now more confident in every part of the court with the right equipment for me. You get so much more for your money when shopping at a place like this. On top of the obvious value here, their customer service is top notch. They had great communication throughout all of my demos and were really helpful making sure I was able to try every paddle I wanted in a timely manner. On my visit this week I called ahead to and confirmed proper staff avail, and headed down to purchase my range ammo. The bad news is they were out of most things on their email savers coupon. The good news is these two staffers ( manager and trainee ) made the purchase kind of fun. The manager assured me that the stores are hiring more people and that ammo sales people will be on duty more often. And I did get a July 4 discount. All good. It gets quite busy at the bike department (esp in the summer with kids wanting to get out with new bikes!). Froy also took the time to teach me the mechanics of the bike that I'll never forget since I want to try to maintain my bike myself. I highly recommend becoming a REI member if you aren't already one! Amazing perks such as discounts all the time and you get a return warranty up to 1 year instead of the 90 days. I also like their credit card which gives you 5% back! If you already know you're a regular customer for REI, why not! You'll also get higher cash back on full priced items too. Telling us she strongly recommends we sign up without knowing what our needs are. As soon as we were able to get a word in to politely decline, her energy shifted from pushy to straight up cold. I worked with Raymond and you can tell he really knows his stuff. I've been to other pro shops that do the minimum, but Raymond takes the time to ask you questions about your game, how you throw, any physical limitations or other factors that will help him determine how to drill your ball. After a few days when my stuff was ready, I had the chance to throw the ball and they felt really good. Comfortable in my hand and just the perfect fit. I'm 36 and the last time I bowled league I was 16. I've been bowling in leagues for the past 7 months and my current league average is a 195. I didn't think I'd get to a 195 after 20 years away from the game. So I give a lot of credit to Raymond for his knowledge and getting me set up correctly. Current high game since getting back into bowling is 261. They also have a little bit of everything, shoes, shamy pads, bags, apparel, thumb tape, etc. just a heads up, don't expect a pristine pro shop, the spot is small, there are bowling balls and equipment everywhere. We've been to the store several times, and everything that we looked for they had the right and best items in stock, and the price is very reasonable. We knew nothing about Lacrosse (and our Lacrosse expert friend told us about the store), and are truly appreciative to have the advice and service in person, like cutting the stick to the right length for our young daughter, or getting everything in hand right away so that she could practice in the same afternoon. Most importantly, the staff explained to us the differences among the sticks and our daughter was able to try them out before picking the one that she was most comfortable with.
