The collection in the store has been very well curated. We didn't have to dig through a lot of junk to find treasure. And the prices are so reasonable! And to be able to sip a drink while browsing is just the chef's kiss. The only potential downside is that they have nothing to eat. Even hipsters need a place to hang in Santa Fe, and Jamie W. and I believe we found it here on the corner of Guadalupe and West San Francisco. Over our brief vacation here, we discovered Guadalupe Street divides Santa Fe between the tourist saturation happening toward the plaza on the east and the quietude of the residential neighborhood on the west. That's what makes the location ideal for a low-key shop that sells quite simply books, vinyl records, and coffee. The somewhat contrived formula appears to have worked for over a decade according to a local blog I read. I found this surprising since it reminded me a bit of the Scotch Tape Boutique on the early years of SNL. Just kinda too specialized even though I was in a nostalgic haze when I saw album covers featuring the Thompson Twins and Men at Work. But I have no idea where my hi-fi turntable is, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one. We did, however, need to wet our whistles on our walk back to the hotel, so a couple of $3.65 Iced Coffees sounded refreshing (photo: http://bit.ly/2Xy88dF). And they were as they were good cold brews well executed. Maybe I'll buy a record. OK, probably not. This precious corner cafe has awesome selections of second-hand records, cds, tapes, and books (both fiction and nonfiction). Prices are reasonable with many "steals" in the mix. Would be extra dope if they carried more current records too (but then that wouldn't be vintage now would it). Fun place to ease drop on people talking about the intellectual rhythms of Bob Dylan's early years vs. that weird Christian album he put out. A spot that is nice to reminisce on the early years of my hipster life. Coffee is good and browsing is fun, prices are high.. but sometimes it's good to treat yourself. And if your like me and now a not-so-cool mother.. you can count on inexpensive children's records that will make your damn day! Love this place. Have primarily gone for the books - don't think I've ever ordered from the cafe, come to think of it, though everything looks nice. But the owner is a super nice guy and the book selection, as it should be in a space this size (many other bookstores should take note), is very well-curated, meaning you're not going to see much junk or filler. I had a perfect cappuccino here today. Full espresso bar and light nosh. As I understand it the espresso beans are locally roasted and single sourced. The owner/barista/record player operator was very friendly. Nice collection of vinyl and books...a few sunny tables and cool sunglasses, t-shirts etc. The Good Stuff is a funky little place in Santa Fe that is not overly priced and very close to the downtown area. Reasonably priced records ranging from Scott Joplin to The Eagles to modern releases. Cheaper than my local record store. Cute souvenirs (t-shirts and coffee mugs), plus coffee as well (although I didn't get the chance to try it). Certainly worth browsing if in the area. read more

The beverages are delicious (everything from matcha lattes to a strong shot of espresso), the books are varied (a wide range of used gems plus new selections, art books, local authors/presses), and many-genred vinyl to peruse. Incredibly disappointing. You would think that Santa Fe's only vinyl record store would support local acts and record store labels, but this is clearly not the case. I walked in asking if the Good Stuff supports local acts and record labels and was given a flat, "NO" response. I asked if I could post flyers for touring musicians and was told "no flyers", we only distribute handbills (Note that there were no handbills in any view-able spot in the entire store. I did browse the collection of vinyl and it was severely lacking in current releases. I asked about this and the person on staff, Ken, the owner told me he will not carry music from any bands currently releasing music on vinyl. My take on this is that this isn't even a record store. This is a store that caters to rich old people who like jazz or blues or country. I did find one obscure record by the Damned's Captain Sensible, but it was overpriced and I can probably just get a copy from him the next time he comes into town. Avoid this place unless you like coffee and a privileged attitude. read more

Small but well-curated stock of used vinyl - most in VG+ to NM/M condition. Heavy on the jazz, high quality country, classic rock from 60's-80's. Found some Really Good Stuff that I'd been looking for (Roxy Music, CSN&Y, Bob Wills) that I didn't want to get through Discogs. Excellent book selection. Funky vibe, but neat, clean, well-lighted place. Definitely will come back next time I'm in town. read more

NO SYRUPS?!?! What kind of coffee shop is this with no syrup? Also they only have whole, soy, and almond milk. Someone I was with also spilled their latte and instead of helping clean up the mess and offering to remake the drink, the owner just handed her rags to clean the mess up even though no one was waiting at the counter. I love this store. Ken is laid back, but very knowledgeable about his products. I live in Santa Fe "half time" but every time I am here it includes a visit to the shop. And for a small collection, I am always able to find something I didn't have or have been looking for. His inventory turns over frequently, making every visit seem like the first trip. This was one of my favorite out of town record shopping experiences to-date. We arrived close to closing (10 mins till) because parking was a bit hard to find since we weren't familiar with the area and hadn't allotted enough time for that part, but the guy behind the counter, possibly the owner (?), was super nice and just went about cleaning up the place/chatting with us as we made our selections from books, records, shirts, and CDs. He even brought me out two copies of an original pressing of Bowie's "Heroes" and examined them each with me and wasn't pushing one or the other as I deliberated. I ended up with some great albums at what I think are reasonable prices for the quality of old vinyl/the rarity of the find. Also because the place was closing, I was trying to be mindful about not taking too long, so somewhere in there I forgot to throw in an older CD - which was in perfect condition: no scratches, album booklet was mint, case wasn't falling apart - with my original haul and he was nice enough to throw the CD in as a bonus even after he rung me up. And when I asked if I should leave a tip he was like "Nah, you're good." read more

I definitely appreciate the concept of a coffee shop that has some wax, but the inventory has been stagnant for quite some time, leaving a picked over selection which is just taking up space that can be used for more ambitious ventures. This is a classic example of a hipster capitalism scheme, but unlike the slow drip coffee, the records are watered down.... Leaving the long time local collectors shakin there heads in shame and dismay. read more
