Passing thru on our way to NM, stopped at noon today, Friday. My husband and I shared the chicken caprese sandwich. Boy did it surpass our expectations. One of the best we've ever had. Good service and menu. The fries were super hot and fresh. Good side salad too, clearly fresh ingredients. Nice place to stop if passing thru. They are open only Thu thru Sat it appears. When asked to substitute a salad for both the mashed potatoes and corn, we were each served a slice of meat (mine... salmon, my date... steak) on a bare plate. It was weird and the salad was definitely in lieu of 2 veggie portions, but was a very tiny salad on a small plate, not really equal portion at all. We still paid full price and left hungry. The restaurant had opened at 3, we arrived at 5 and there were maybe 3 other parties in the restaurant with us at the time, but both the men's and women's restrooms had the large paper towel trash cans overflowing the bins with paper trash all over the floor and there was no toilet paper in the ladies room stalls and the ladies room small stall trash cans were also full. The trash was clearly from the day before (or longer...). It was really gross and uncomfortable and disappointing. Right below the sink was a plugged in heater which was close to the water and it felt unsafe, even with the heater off since it was 75 degrees outside and not even needed. It seemed hazardous. This was our second time to eat there and for a $65 meal for 2, sadly, it just wasn't the quality we expected for the price. read more

I bought tickets today to see Ted Nugent this morning for a concert on 4-20-2024...tomorrow I called this even to find out what time Ted goes on stage. They told me they had to reschedule for May 10th. I asked about a refund and they say they would not be giving refunds since they rescheduled. I told them I live nearly 3 hours away and cannot make the new date. The tickets are sold through Event Bright who notes refunds are through the organizer....The Grain. The Grain refuses to give a refund. I have been going to concerts for nearly 50 years. In the very few times something like this happened, I was able to get a refund. I have never been to Tye Grain, and now will never go to The Grain. Very poor policy. I have been a Nugent fan since the 70's, if he doesn't make this right, to hell with him as well. read more

After a week on the Riverwalk in San Antonio we visited friends in Hamilton, Texas. They suggested this place for Dinner and drinks. I ordered the Steak Fingers, gravy and fries... I was warned that the 2 finger portion was enough... holy cow... they brought me two great chicken fried steaks with a bowl of fantastic gravy for dipping. Then there are the drinks... $3 for a very nice pour of Crown Royal on the rocks... this place will fatten you up.. And get you buzzed on a budget! Service was EXCELLENT friendly and fun. Great food... great drinks... great service... and great atmosphere.... yep five stars. read more

Went for a concert but wanted to try the food before the music. Hubs got the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. He enjoyed it and I got to sneak a bite and I approve too. I got the 4 piece steak finger basket. Steak fingers were HUGE and made with really tender meat. Gravy on point. Fries were nice and greasy just like I like em. Honestly the best steak fingers I've ever had. Server was super sweet and friendly. Can't wait to go back for the next concert and have my tummy full again. read more

We reserved a table for two (for $35) to listen to a friend play music here tonight. When we arrived (on time at 8p when the show started as stated on the tickets ) they did not have a table for us. There were two tables (reserved for other people) that were empty, but rather than offer us one of those tables we were brought a very short, round dirty table and no chairs. I stated I wanted one of the regular tables. The owner, Justin, showed up...he didn't apologize for not having a reserved table for us. He doesn't offer any discount or any suggestions to make the situation right . He isn't concerned at all that he failed to provide a paid reserved table. Instead he is defensive and speaks to us in a very rude and angry tone asking "what's the problem"? "I gave you a table" We were told that if we didn't like the table that was brought we could leave ...he actually said "there's the door" ...he said that to us a few times. We accepted our full refund and left. We drove an hour and a half to visit with our friends, listen to music and and try a new restaurant...only to be treated rudely by this owner. He is an angry, horrible business owner with absolutely no customer service skills. He and THe Grain do not belong in a town whose motto is " What a Hometown Should Be". read more

Friendly wait staff casual dining. Bands on the weekends. For a small town eatery they do an excellent burger. Large juicy patties with fresh buns. Fries are good the onion rings are even better. Good for families and large groups with a large bar area in the back. read more

We popped in here to watch some football during a very long basketball tournament. This place was very inviting. The drinks were good but the best thing is Justin converted (me) a non lamb eater into loving lamb chops. I highly recommend trying this place out. read more
