As we walked in, co-owner and chef Shannon was trying to get the perfect photo of their baked potato for content. As we talked about her version of the baked potato, my husband and I both said we've got to try it tonight. So, we did just that along with the filet. Here's the special part, this steak was fork tender and cooked medium rare plus perfect with incredible flavor. We just had dinner at a steak house downtown Fort Worth for restaurant week last Saturday night. It was a wonderful evening and meal, but Oma Leen's filet blew away Saturday nights offering. Being old timers with small appetites we customarily share an entree, but when I learned that an order consists of two, not the customary three tacos, I ordered a plate for each of us. Big mistake! Hahaha. These tacos are humongous! I'm afraid I totally failed to fulfill my duties as a responsible Yelper and take a photo of the presented plate. Attached is a pic of one, but the pic does not adequately provide for you a sense of the taco's actual size. We each had to work to finish one each. This creation is a work of taco art. A taco masterpiece. The tortilla appears to be house-made. The large pieces of chicken breast, perfectly seasoned and breaded; and crisply fried rest on a bed of some of the tastiest cole slaw ever. The fried chicken is then topped with a couple sauces that sing with the chicken and finished with house made hot honey. This taco is worth the drive to Hico from FTW for lunch. Service was once again very pleasant and attentive.
