It really started off poorly when the driver asked us if anybody on the tour had a pass to enter the Grand Canyon. He said his boss requires that they ask so they can save money. My wife had to get out of the tour bus (van), go back up to our room and return with the pass. They saved $25, we got nothing. The price was extremely high per person for what you get. I thought you we would get to go places that you could not get to by car but all we did was drive to places on the rim, go out and read the plaques. They did provide a Safeway version of a lunch but it was so not worth the money. The Tour guide was nice and mentioned that we were the best group he's had, the reason being: we all spoke American. The only reason to take this tour would be to bypass the parking if the park was full. We went off season and felt totally ripped off. I can drive. I can read plaques. If you can make your own lunch, drive and read then avoid the tour.

Alex we did Antelope canyon, horseshoe bend even some other bonuses. So absolutely wonderful and so worth the tour! Alex was great telling us all kinds of details and tidbits. Was attentive to all of us! Lunch was stupendous with plenty of snacks water and soda if you prefer. We did bring extra 3 waters which we could refill with the cooler of just water they had. Corry we had the following day for the Grand Canyon and several extras as well. He was also very detailed and kept us from crowded areas to make sure we had great views for Grand Canyon! He even had a telescope too attach to his phone to show us rafters and kayakers in the waters of the Colorado. The gift shop they both took is to was absolutely great!! Lunch was spot on yet again. We did bring our water bottles that were insulated to keep water cold. The difference of heat and winds was crazy but tolerable and Corry had van open and ready when we got back! Took a trip to antelope canyon and horseshoe bend with them…read more Rocky made the trip fun and very informative throughout the whole trip. Learned a lot about AZ Flagstaff the Navajo reservation. He always kept us informed of our itinerary and kept us on schedule without feeling rushed and allowing us to enjoy our journey. We even had a picnic style lunch. Plenty to go around. Marqua Transport, DQ, our driver was the only one who answered our call and promised to be there. One other place didn't even respond at 7:00 p.m., one said he MIGHT be able to do it but wasn't sure and one said no. It was real peace of mind to know we had assurance of a ride. We highly recommend Marqua.

The owners, Dave and Natalie, are highly experienced on group and adventure travel. From your first night in a hostel to 19 more nights (Alaska Salmon Run) at various levels of camping you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself in the wilds of Alaska. You will see many animals that you may never have thought to see in their own habitats behaving as they should. You will see amazing landscapes and have the chance to walk on a Glacier. The value for your money is excellent. That said there are some things you must bring to the venture. You need an open mind. This is a group experience and you will meet many different personalities - most from other countries. Some will be critical of you or difficult and some will be delightful. You need a strong will. The trip will challenge you physically while you adjust to temperature extremes and various hiking opportunities. You need to be flexible. The phrase "this is Alaska" covers all kinds of happenings around timing and resources. Dave and Natalie do their best but not every detail is under their control. You have to be willing to fully participate. Setting up and cleaning up campsites and meals are a group effort. Dave and Natalie work hard to accommodate diets. We are vegan and although some of our meals were uninspiring, we did not starve. The tents are spacious and easy to set up. There are plenty of camp chairs, dishes, and utensils. We recommend you bring a 2-3 inch (5-7.5cm) sleeping pad (REI has good ones), and a sleeping bag rated ro 30 degrees F (-1 degree C) as well as a camp pillow for comfort. A liner for your sleeping bag is a big help keeping you warm. You don't need lots of clothes - just layers. There are at least 3 places on the trip where you can do laundry. Finally remember the wilderness is not next door. There will be at least 4 long bumpy bus rides from one location to the next with a few shorter bumpy drives as well. You will often be surprised by animal sightings and amazing vistas for which Dave stops so you can take pictures. This was not a vacation, it was an adventure for us. If adventure is what you seek and you are willing to take advantage of the many opportunities that Dave and Natalie will provide, this is the travel company for you.
