Let me start by saying we are locals and come here frequently. The food is always very good. Service in the restaurant has always been efficient and welcoming. But twice now, we have ordered takeout and gotten home only to find we were missing the salads. This is annoying and disappointing. No, we do not want to drive back on a winter day to pick them up. We will still patronize this restaurant because the food is great, but a word of advise, if you place an order to go, please check your order before leaving the store. read more

The Grapevine is a really excellent restaurant to grab a meal that is on the healthier side. I have ordered take out here several times and I love it. The Spanakopita is amazing. This place has really gone downhill. I ordered for pickup on 7/29 and the food was not up to par what so ever. We ordered one gyro sandwich, one falafel sandwich and one chawarma sandwich. All of the meat on each sandwich was luke warm and overly salty. The bread wasnt warm or grilled either. There were like three tiny pieces of lettuce on each sandwich and barely any tomato. When I first drove into the strip mall parking lot, my expectations plummeted, but the food, service, and price were all fantastic. I ordered some ice tea and the vegetarian platter. The total was around $18. The waitstaff was friendly, efficient, and had good recommendations at the ready. The starting salad that came with the platter wasn't great--mostly iceberg lettuce, with some tomato, cheese, and a little too much dressing, but the dressing was quite good. The platter itself was excellent and it came with warm pita. Because it was so good, I ate more than I should've and now I'm feeling over-full, but the baba ghanoush, hummus, falafel, and tahini made it tough to stop. I went to Grapevine with a friend and really had a hard time choosing what to get because everything on the menu sounds delicious. We split some pita bread with their garlic sauce which was absolutely amazing. I ordered a chicken shawarma with no onions, and asked for chips as my side. I ended up a whole lot of onions and rice as my side. The onions were easy enough to pick off and the rice was excellent, though, so I can't fault them too much. We were there on a Friday night and it was busy, but service was pretty slow. We got our food in an average amount of time, but it took quite a bit to get our check and our boxes to go. The place is BYOB, so we were able to bring a bottle of our favorite wine, which was a nice addition to dinner. The dining area is small but it's clean and comfortable with nice decor. In addition to the restaurant, they have a food cart, as well as a food truck that can be found all over greater Utica, often rain or shine. The owners are the sweetest people and their restaurant/food trucks are truly their passion. This can be tasted in the high quality of their food, and seen in their amazing service. I personally prefer the Lamb Gyro, add feta. I often get this with a side of grape leaves which are perfect. Cute little restaurant located inside a strip mall. Feels like you're in a restaurant in Napa. It's a little tight inside and gets packed easily during dinner time. I found the seasoning of the hummus and lahmi to be underwhelming as well as the chicken for the kids meal. The portion sizes were also small. A hidden gem in the New Hartford shopping center. (I hear they are expanding. They definitely should!) I got the 3-combo of Chicken Taouk, Shish Lahmi and Chwarma. The Chicken Taouk was perfectly spiced. Loved it. The Chwarma was awesome, it had such a unique blend of spices that made it almost sweet to me. Very interesting. (I don't have that refined of a palette, but my dad does and he was very impressed). My parents were oohing and aahing over the specials they got (unsure of the name, check the pictures). This review is long overdue. Every time I have come to this place I get super excited. The food is consistently made with top quality ingredients and very tasty. The service is also excellent -if you don't know what to order, the waiters/owners always make great recommendations. This place has a very homey feel to it because of the great hospitality and kindness of the owners. I highly recommend the Shish Lahmi. The lamb kabob is perfectly seasoned and so tender. The hummus is so addicting that I always have to ask for more pita. But honestly everything on the menu is worth trying. You will never find this type of quality food reasonably priced with generous portions. This place is perfect for a couple or large groups. This place is, as has been said, a hidden gem. All four of us ordered the Thursday special, Jez Nui, two with shaved lamb and two with chicken. It was a phenomenal Utica twist on a mediterranean dish and I would die time and again for some more (which is good, because it was such a decent sized portion that I have a second helping all set for lunch tomorrow--oh my). Good pita. Good small greek side salad. But, more than having a delicious, fairly priced ($15), beautifully plated meal--I cannot sing enough praise regarding the great service. Our waitress was warm, helpful, and attentive (bonus: there was no rushing us out as we sat chatting about our day for a good 30+ minutes after we had finished eating). The environment was warm and welcoming (although I was a bit thrown by the big curtains at the entrance...not really a big deal). Overall, casual, intimate and potentially romantic. Ideally, this would be a date night spot--but no complaints for small groups. Based on size, it seems like it could become crowded and loud, but I hear rumor they are expanding into the building next door. I will definitely be coming back here! Terrific Middle Eastern food makes you forget you're in a strip mall in New Hartford. We somehow missed the fact that there's no alcohol (but by all means BYOB), so we ordered plenty of food to make up for it: the "Trip to the Middle East" is an all-purpose mezze platter (with smooth but bland hummus; solid meat/veggie stuffed grape leaves; and crisp-on-the-outside falafel, among other things). We added some excellent spanikopita and a tasty kefta kabob (accompanied by a totally pointless side salad). Pita is fluffy and delicious, and there's lots of it. We were too stuffed to order dessert, but the bill was very reasonable. The interior is attractive but easily overwhelmed at busy times. Our server was obviously harried. I think business is good enough to hire more servers and/or to expand. There's only one happening place in this strip mall, and the owners should make the most of it. read more

I too can't believe there are no reviews about this place!! It's a little hard to find in the New Hartford shopping center due to a banner sign (next to the buffet place) but once you find it you won't be disappointed. I went with a party of nine and we had excellent service. Our server, Jeremy was a really down to earth genuine person. The food was fresh and flavorful. We started with several appetizers including two orders of the Trip to the Middle East, Khyar Bil-Laban, and Feta and Olives all served with warm pitas. I couldn't stop eating! For my entree I got the Shish Lahmi which was recommended by our server. It came with one skewer, rice pilaf, and salad which was perfect since I ate so much beforehand. This place is BYOB which I love. As for dessert, I couldn't stay away from the brownie sundae even though I was already so full. Our entire party split the bill and I believe it only ended up being $25 per person at most which is very reasonable for the amount of food we got. We were lucky enough to chat with the chefs/owners of the Grapevine after our meal. A very friendly and authentic couple, definitely say hi if you get the chance.
