I ordered Zoysia from Dual Citizen Landscape for my front yard. Garret Oats ordered it from The Grass Company. It was installed on March 21st. Over half of the sod was Nutsedge weed. A perennial weed that broadleaf weed chemicals won't touch. It has rhizomes (bulbs) in the soil which makes it extremely difficult to get rid of. It came up in 4 days after install when I was watering daily. My yard is ruined and this will be ongoing for years. Many other pieces did not have any grass at all. I am 4 weeks into this mess and it keeps getting worse. Dual Citizen Landscape told me to mow it. Be very leary, they are capable of ruining your lawn. read more

First, they started great. Well, atleast i thought so. 10/4/2025 i bought a half pallet of what I was told was "celebration" bermuda. Loved it. Beautiful grass, excellent sod pieces. Went back 10/11 (Sat) for more, they were out. Thats fine. Told me monday theyd have more. called first, they didnt have any. Said Wednesday. Went Wednesday. At first they said they had no Celebration. But then came back and said they did. Took 20 pieces of sod. Very loose, they cut it too thin to keep it together. I didnt mind since it was going in the dirt same day. Got it home, and it is CLEARY a different grass. After taking pieces to a different grass distributor, the half pallet i bought was actually TifTuf, sold as Celebration. And the 20 pieces i took later were actually celebration. I texted with them and they said come get 20 pieces of tiftuf. I told them to confirm i would not be charged, i could bring them back their celebration- they never confirmed and never responded after. Disappointed. read more

He would take phone calls and text messages to answer any questions we had and we had a lot. He still continues to support us even after our install, great team all around. read more

Pasqual was very friendly & loaded up a half pallet of sod in my hatchback right at closing time on a Friday. I don't have much sod experience & thought it looked kinda dead, but compared to the sod I got the next morning from Del's Grass Farm, it was easy to lay (thick, solid pieces; not falling apart like half of the pieces I got from Del's) & started turning greener after just 1 watering. Prepare to get jerked around. First Howard agreed to deliver 2 pallets of sod. Then he ignores texts and calls for a week, so you can't get delivery scheduled. Then he decides there's a 3 pallet minimum. What a waste of time. Shady and inconsiderate. This guy is the reason yelp exists. read more

We ordered 4 pallets of grass from them and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday. They were a no show. They said they would deliver on Saturday at 9AM - no show. They would not respond to text messages or phone calls. I called from a different number and they answered - told me they were running late because of staff problems and issues with the truck. I said delivery at noon was ok. They called and said they were on their way and then called again and said they would move the delivery to Sunday at 9AM and we decided the company was not reputable. We had help at our place to lay the grass on Friday and Saturday with a bunch of lost time. Their cost per pallet is comperable to other dealers but their delivery cost ($80) is a slight bit higher thank other sellers. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND NO CONSIDERATION FOR CUSTOMER'S TIME. read more

I recently had sod installed at our home by The Grass Company in San Antonio. We were very happy with the results. They were extremely quick to deliver and install the sod, leveled and tilled the soil, and laid down fertilizer. They removed rubble and debris from the yard, and did it all in a day. And all at a very reasonable price. Another nice thing was that they were able to get the work done while I was at work. I left the gate open for them, and when I got home from work, we actually had a lawn at our home! I highly recommend them. read more

We used this company to sod our backyard and only have good things to say! Howard was kind and courteous and provided us a reasonable estimate for the project. We were able to schedule a time with his team, who were also kind and respectful. They leveled our yard, put additional soil down, and picked up a few blocks we had in the backyard, too. After they were done, they even took a leaf blower to get all the leaves/dirt off of our front porch and driveway. Just had sod installed today. After calling a dozen or so places I found The Grass Co. Howard was very helpful and explained to me how to measure my yard. I was scheduled to have my sod delivered and installed on Saturday. Howard called and said they could install it today(friday) if I would like. I agreed and his guys showed up this afternoon. I could not be more pleased. They stayed til after dark doing the install. The guys even swept up the street where the truck was and some dirt had fallen. They went above and beyond on the install. They made sure the sprinklers were all clear also.. i will gladly recommend them to everyone I know.. read more

Week after week I have been put off, scheduled and forgotten, and no apology just excuses each time I have questioned the ongoing bad customer service. Very disappointing. Howard was very knowledgable and friendly on the phone. My appointment was scheduled, and then nothing. No call. No show. I tried calling several times to see what happened. All I got was an answering machine with a full box. So I'm not able to leave a message. I figured Howard would still call me back-- but no call. I love to support local business but I can't give money to a business that doesn't do what they said they would. read more

Don't hire The Grass Company if you value communication or your patience. While I will admit Howard was pleasant to talk to initially, more often than not I was greeted to unanswered calls, a full voicemail box, or excuse after excuse. Most of my frustration could have been avoided had I just walked away from the deal at the first sign of this horrible communication. I initially asked a question through the website Thumbtack; after a few days went by with it unanswered I decided to call Howard. I had a great conversation and I needed time to think about some of the stuff he mentioned on the call. Later I hired him via Thumbtack and asked another question on the website (2 notifications would have been sent to him). After several days of not hearing back I decided to email him directly with my questions and the fact that I wanted to hire him. Another several days went by and I eventually called him only to be greeted by a message saying his voicemail box was full. By this point I should have been smart and realized I was in for a headache if it was so hard to give someone money to do a job. But... he did return my call later that day and we set a date to have the grass installed. Instead of him keeping me up to date on what was going on, I had to constantly text him to ask. My install was pushed back a day due to no fault of his (weather) but once again I had to ask what the new timeline was. Eventually I was greeted with great news that they were 20-30 minutes out from my house. After 2+ hours went by without them showing up or hearing anything, I decided to let him know I was cancelling the job due to lack of communication. I got a half ass apology and more excuses. Howard could have salvaged things even at that point but with his lack of empathy and no sense of urgency, he lost my business read more
