Coming in on Saturday evening on Labor Day weekend, I wasn't sure what to expect. But it wasn't very busy and there was plenty of parking. You walk in and the ambience is intimate and dark but still friendly. We were seated immediately and we were taken care of right away. I had the Swiss mushroom burger and it was definitely one of the better ones I've had! Really good mushrooms and good burger patty. My friend had the bacon cheeseburger without the cheese and he also said it was pretty good. Overall the prices were right, it was a good place for a good burger which is what I was craving, and I would definitely return! Would want to sample some of their other food. One of the things I enjoy most about coming to New Jersey is going to all the different diners and pubs and just enjoying what they have. I have lived all over the US and I feel like this is one of the easiest places to get a good and cheap meal without too much hassle and not having to do fast food.

Pretty chilled bar to go and hang out with friends or just to stop by for a drink after a long day at work.

No masks to get drinks at the bar. Just a huge crowd.

We wanted to love this place but they're not following Covid policies. We're here, at night, and there's a huge crowd. No one is wearing a mask at the bar. They're not enforcing social distancing or anything. It's just a mosh pit of people with no masks and no enforcement. I've been to many bars that have asked all people to stay in their seats and have waitresses so no one is just standing/moving around.

I love temaki! We started with shishito peppers with a smoked honey miso. I was curious to see how they did vegetarian options, so I went with five plant-based temaki. I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite; each one was so delicious! -- avocado "toast" -- cucumber black sesame -- tofu chimichurri -- sweet potato tempura -- maitake truffle Our waiter was so nice and welcoming. She checked in on us and answered questions that we had about the menu. That kind of genuineness and hospitality always makes the dine-in experience a notch above. I hope to return again soon. The eatery is close to the Welmont, so I made a mental note to remember it next time I'm seeing a concert or show. Nami Nori in Montclair is highly recommended!

We added some of our leftover caviar from the apps and it mixed perfectly!!! Spicy lobster is definitely a must as well! Can't wait to come back for our next date!! Pro tip: theres a parking deck right across the street behind the bike store! You can cross through the lit up alley pretty safely there.

Not sure why the restaurant isn't busier because the good was very good. We split a cauliflower fritters appetizer, which was tasty and hot. It was a cross between breaded fried cauliflower and the Indian Gobi style. I had the mushroom burger, an 8 oz hamburger with mushrooms and sauteed spinach along with melted cheese. The meat was fresh and good. A big step above most burgers plus generous portions of sauteed onions and mushrooms along with melted cheeses. When I get my hamburger craving, I know where I'm going. The Butter Chicken Tacos were an unusual option. Based on Indian Butter Chicken, the national dish of UK along with Chicken Marsala, it was served in a naan with a side of rice. Really very flavorful and creative. The chopped salmon burger with mayo also comes with cheese, which was unexpected, but worked well. Service was prompt and friendly. The waitress and another wait staff person even moved furniture around looking for my grandson's red crayon. (He was sitting on it). Worth a visit even if you don't go have a craft bar or cocktail.

The pork slices were big although I wouldn't say they are as good as those found in very traditional and higher end ramen places in NYC. But at this price point in the suburbs, the place is absolutely a 5-star. Look it's not Ippudo or Ichiran... it's part of a small group with various locations... but it's also not your typical suburbia mall Japanese spot either. The drinks are very well priced too. Service was very friendly, it's convenient with lots of parking, and they seem to be quite busy midweek for early dinner. I've yet to find a go-to ramen place in NJ... Ani Ramen is popular around here though I think this is better. It's good enough for this ramen snob to not make me want to drive into Manhattan to seek out ramen even if it's not exactly quite like the very best in the city.

I am not sure if she is new or not, but she was not attentive and also very slow. All I wanted was to get my check and pay and leave before the storm hit. She was talking to the new tables for a long long time. We ended up taking the check and paid up front. Basically we waited 10 minutes just to get the check. The restaurant should train their staff to keep the check with them, or have the remote credit card machine. When the customer asked for the check, the staff should be ready to provide in a timely manner. I will still come back, but will be more smart to ask for the check way ahead of time.

Fine, we accepted that and moved on. The biggest issue, though, was the automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill for a table of two. We didn't notice it until after we had already left an additional tip, so that's on us. However, even if we had caught it, the service simply wasn't worth a $30+ tip. We've come here several times and have recommended this place to friends and family in the past, but after this experience, we won't be returning or referring anyone else. Between the misleading happy hour expectations, overpriced portions, and automatic gratuity for a party of two, the value just isn't there anymore.

I could always see a very few " Reserved Areas". (As the night went on, the place was packed). We were escorted to a seating area. It would've been nice to have been asked, if we had a preference in seating because of comfort and of course "the views" of NYC. In the past, we've been asked. Some of the seating consisted of slouchy sofas along with high top tables and chairs.. Our seating was the slouchy sofa area. I had to locate extra pillows to prop us up to just to reach the table. Plus the location of our seats didn't offer us the wonderful rooftop views. We've been there before, so it wasn't a big deal. Plus, it was a great night for being outside. Service was pretty good. Think they could've used more help on a Friday night. We had cocktails and two lobster rolls $26 each. The lobster rolls were very tasty. Food prices are a little high, but you're paying for being out on the rooftop. Since my last visit, there appears to be more wide screen TVs. Advanced reservations are highly recommended for outdoor seating (which we did!). Otherwise, you can forget about sitting outside. Despite the seating area and comfort issue, we enjoyed the evening. There's valet parking for at least $20.00+, municipal garage parking and of course (if you're lucky) street parking.
