I love coming to Pharmacie around the holidays with friends. We really enjoy the rotating cocktail menu. Recently I tried the "Baby Metal" (Oka Yuzu Japanese Vodka, Kingfisher Sochu, Umenoyado Yuzushu Sake, Giffard Framboise, Honey, Lime) which is delicious and refreshing. Pricing is pretty average for most upscale cocktail bars in the area. Service is friendly and you order at the bar. There are plenty of tables available and some bar seating. It does get pretty busy after shows at the Wellmont Theater next door or after dinner on a Friday/Saturday night. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Haven't seen my friend in sometime and we decided to stop in for a cocktail. As soon as we walked in there was seating available by the small bar. Stopped by here on my way to dinner last week. They make really well crafted mixed drinks. I asked for a Tommy Margarita, which isn't super common and they said they'd give it a shot and it came out perfect. That alone says a lot about how willing they are to go above and beyond and actually make customers happy. The place itself is pretty big but I've only ever sat at the bar. It's nice and cozy and there's still plenty of seating so it doesn't feel cramped. Solid spot for drinks, will definitely be back. read more

I needed to find a cool and laid back place for first date drinks in Montclair and based on reviews of the bar itself (& pics of course) decided to try Pharmacie Bar + Kitchen. First impressions walking in was that the place was going to be fun based on the decor in addition to it being a great first date place based on the ambiance created by the lighting (& the music). We were immediately greeted by Andre at the bar who is truly a reason the place is so great bc he made perfect cocktails in addition to being some sort of cool mind reader bc he honestly knew what cocktail you were going to order before you even ordered it and had it served up in seconds. Nice spot to stop for a quick drink before seeing a show at the Wellmont Theater. The ambiance is fun, the bar area is quaint and has TVs to catch a game. Came here for a quick cocktail before the show at the Wellmont. The table we sat at was sticky, the bar was short staffed (not their fault, they were super nice). I got the baby metal cocktail, it was ok. Oka Yuzu Japanese Vodka, Kingfisher Sochu, Umenoyado Yuzushu Sake, Giffard Framboise, Honey, and Lime, it was very interesting, but the lime really overpowered all the other ingredients... overall refreshing, slightly acidic, and a bit of sweetness. Good evening and happy start of November, the month of thankfulness and reflection on what we have in life. I for one am thankful for my recent second visit to Pharmacies Bar + Kitchen, as the drinks were delightful and the company of my really hot friends was enjoyable as always. Do you know what I'm not thankful for? Having my corneas blasted with above 4000k lighting, and feeling like I'm in a J J Abrams movie. If i had to grade the ambiance and general decor of this establishment, i would write "see me after class." This is because i see the effort put in, but i know they have the potential to really make this work, to earn that 100% grade. As stated in my previous review, I believe we can improve the feel of this bar by bringing in more warm lighting, hints of metals like copper, and a splash of dark green paint to the ceiling. No white or blue lighting as this is unpleasant to the human eye, and the white painted ceiling will make any intoxicated fellow feel like they are being raptured into the heavens. I see great things from here and i hope this review falls in the hands of someone who truly wants to elevate this bar to what it deserves. This bar is pretty low key and seems more of a place for a quick drink and a chat. Service can be a bit slow because there is only one bartender and the drinks can be pretty complex but that is to no fault of their own. I only had a shot when I was there so I can't speak too much to their drinks but it was a tasty shot that the bartender mixed up for us. read more

This tiny spot is great. The drinks are solid! I had something called Sexual Magick, at least I think that's what it was called. This concoction included cold brew, passionfruit and ....yes that's what it was called. Sex Magick - Ketel One Vodka, Passion Fruit, Velvet Falernum, Mr Black Cold Brew, Bubbles. Ahhh-mazing. I looked over and saw a couple with a pizza box. Come to find out it's BYOF (bring your own food)! So you can chill and eat what you like. I will definitely return. They had a great Halloween vibe going on and I'm sure it will be nice for a holiday cocktail or two. read more

Convenient place to grab a drink before a show at the next door Wellmont theater. The service was curt and pretty unfriendly. Not a smile or anything exceptional. They got our drinks, took our money and gave us change. Kind of somber. Place was pretty crowded preshow for a concert that was less than half sold. I imagine this joint to be a madhouse before a larger event. That's when NJ comes up short. Pretty easy to make a living being average, when you're more or less the only game in the vicinity. No longer serving food. Not sure how "temporary" that is. Seating is pretty tight. Small place. Not sure I'd return for reasons outside of its proximity to the theater. read more

This place is a pretty cool spot to hang out before a show next door. We were in the area for a concert and decided to pop in here for a drink. The layout is huge but still fills up quick when there's a show at Wellmont. It's open seating on show days so it's the kind of spot where you grab a table if there's one available. We ended up just grabbing a spot at the upstairs bar which worked out fine. Their drink menu isn't extensive but what they do they do well. We both had a mezcal cocktail and it was delicious! Smooth, expertly made, and easy to drink. Prices are fair but might seem steep to some, just remember you're paying for the convenience of being next door to Wellmont. I wonder how this spot does on days where there isn't a show. One small critique - there are only two individual bathrooms. Been wanting to check this place out since it opened. Finally had the chance last night and unfortunately the only thing I can review is the absolute lack of service. The place was busy but, not overwhelmingly busy considering there was a sold out show at Wellmont. My friend and I were able to snag 2 seats at the downstairs bar and were excited to get a fancy drink before heading in to the show. We must have sat at the bar for at least 20 minutes with my card out in full eye line of the bartender signaling we were ready to order. He continually took walk ups to the bar and completely ignored us. We finally had enough and decided to just get drinks inside Wellmont. The place was packed and we were able to walk up to the bar and have drinks in our hands within seconds. Unfortunately, I will never know if this place has good drinks or food because I will never return. There's better places to spend your money without being completely ignored. read more

Nice bar for Montclair, it's one of the few places that you can go and get a cocktail in the area. I ordered a cosmopolitan martini and it was pretty good. Honestly, our bartender was nice and I have nothing bad to say about the establishment. The music could've been better and more cocktail options would the menu would be good. Nice dive in bar. I was a little caught by surprise the outside is so nicely decorated but once inside there are two bars, you have to order drinks at the bar and bring them to your table. Had tickets to a show at the wellmont so I decided to give this place another shot since my initial experience. I was hopeful, really hopeful but unfortunately not impressed. We sat at the bar and the bartender failed to acknowledge us until we signaled him over. There were deffinitely a couple people at the bar, but not enough for him to be weeded to the point where he couldn't even say "be right with you". I ordered a martini with olives and asked him to please make sure it wasn't too dirty and my boyfriend ordered a beer. My martini was SO salty I literally forced myself to drink it. We weren't very hungry but we decided to order some apps, we got an order of wings and steak tartare. The wings looked like they came from chicks instead of chickens and you get 6 in an order for $12...I mean, they're wings! Sauce them up fancy but they're still wings and given their size I was seriously taken back. The steak tartare was wayyyy overdressed. If someone orders tartare, they anticipate he raw beef and most of the places I've been they just serve you the mustard on the side. It really was just wayyy too much and all you could taste was the mustard (crostinis were good thought!) The best part about my visit, was that we could walk right into the theatre from the bar. I really wanted to like this place. I did. But all I can really say about this place is...meh. Right next to the Wellmount Theater so there was a show and the place was pretty packed but we were seated quickly. We both got two deinks and I was really disappointed by the sizes and overall tastes. Ordered wings and a burger and the burger had good flavor and sauce was bright and tangy. Came here about 2 weeks ago with my cousins after a long day of bridal shopping(my first cousin is going to be a bride yayyyy) and we were completely starved and in the need of some cocktails so I got on yelp and we ended up here ... it was really dry at first honestly we weren't welcomed so we wandered to the bar than we realized we would be better off sitted near the window ... we ended up being greeted my the host/ server jess who was really friendly and helpful, we literally enjoyed EVERYTHING!!! Parking in this area isn't the greatest. I recommend taking an Uber here. Came here on a Friday night. The place was packed! Yet, I could not complain because regardless of how packed it was the workers all seemed to be moving quickly. We got drinks and our bartender who seemed to be alone was on such a fast pace I didn't wait more then a minute. Didn't get her name but she has got to be the best bartender I've ever come across.
