Where are we going to watch Monday night football? Let's try somewhere new. We arrived to the pub and to my surprise it's large. It's a nice size well stocked bar with many TV's. The menu has something for everyone. Wings cooked perfectly, large plate of fries, and thin crust pizza. Pizza sauce was too acidic. This is my new go to spot. Thanks to Peter (manager) and Katlin (bartender) for a great night!

Basic upfront bar area. A number of tables and a classic bar area.

I didn't have a lot of food that night. I was there more for a beer. I did see they had French Onion soup. If you don't have high expectations for the soup, it'll be fine. But this tasted like a beef bouillon cubs heated up, thrown in with some bread and onions in it and melted mozzarella on top. Not a lot of depth of flavor. The service was good enough for a pub. Nothing special... I was on the pub side, so service was friendly. The ambiance would be classified as your typical local pub. Friendly place filled with locals.

Such a nice spot for a drink and some food any night of the week. There is a lot right next to the establishment with plenty of parking. We were seated right away. I ordered a apple martini and it was really well made. The wings and fries were good combo. For appetizers we ordered fried pickles and potstickers which were good. We will definitely return. They have plenty of televisions and themes on some nights.

Surprisingly large menu for a bar. Can't wait to come back and try some other menu items. Great beer selection. I had a mango beer that I fell in love with. Love that they have outdoor seating

Great service and food even at 11pm. Owner, Rami, was the cherry on top. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious.

This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. I am truly sad to hear they will no longer be in business, but their three sister restaurants at 1109 Broad Street will still remain open. #thebrookdale #thebigcheese #bloomfieldnj

We stopped in out of curiousity to grab some dinner since we were in the area. When we arrived, there was no hostess that greeted us. There were only a few tables and a huge bar in the middle of the room. We were handed a few menus and just kept it simple with some burgers. They were surprisingly delicious and tasted super fresh. All of the burgers/sliders came with a side of tater tots or fries. Service was kind of slow but there was only one woman handling the bar and serving food. Overall, I would definitely come back for some drinks and a bite to eat.

But after I gave it another shot later, I realized they take online orders. The estimated time here does seem to be off though, as I showed up about 5 minutes before the ETA and it was already sitting around being less hot. So maybe estimate picking up even earlier than that. When I came, the place was packed, but it was a game night. The kitchen/pick up area is way in the back, but I will say, their hot pretzel is fantastic. The flavor itself is good and crunchy, but with the cheese sauce, it was truly delectable. It was just pure thick cheddary liquid goodness. It also came with a mustard if you're that sort, but just the combo of pretzel and cheese makes for such a good and quick snack. They also have a trivia night promotion, so I'm interested in checking that out, but for bar food (even to go) is pretty solid.

We walked in and sat at the near-empty bar and were soon greeted by the bartender (woman with long brown hair), who also provided us with menus. After a few minutes, she circled back, and we ordered two glasses of water. Just seconds after ordering the waters, we were asked for ID. Unfortunately, I left my ID in my jacket, which I didn't have with me at the time, so I explained this to the bartender. We were then told that we could not sit and eat without ID (which I have never heard of in any restaurant I've been to... EVER). I left without making a big deal of it since I was hungry from my drive. Stopped here again on Saturday, May 16th, around 9 PM to meet up with friends before leaving Bloomfield for the night. We were told we could sit where we liked and were quickly attended to by one of the servers upon entry. I ordered a water, and my friend ordered the Six Points Burger with fries. This time, we were not carded until we decided to order beer/drinks. Additionally, there was a child in there, no older than 12 years old, eating with a parent/caregiver on this evening- ultimately proving the whole 'you need an ID to eat here' thing false... What can I say about Six Points after these two experiences?... There's a lively crowd in the evening times, and food seems decent, and it's in a prime location on Bloomfield Ave... but it's quite evident that (at least) one of their bartenders is prejudiced and seems to have issues with people of color simply trying to sit and order food. *I called Six Points on May 18th and asked to speak with a manager regarding my experience. I left my number with one of the employees who answered, and he also told me I would receive a call back- sadly, that never happened. To clarify, the employee acknowledged that my experience on April 18 should not have occurred, as I should have been allowed to order food. Lesson learned: Just go to Egans or Just Jakes in Montclair instead of Six Points Pub.

Posting here too because it seems like the reviews we left on Google are being taken down?…read more I never write negative reviews. My philosophy is that if something happened that needs the attention of a manager or owner, do so in the moment so something can be done then and there. However, speaking with the owner about his did not solve anything. If anything, it made one fact irrevocably clear, The Rock is not a safe space. For ANYONE. Period. Full stop. The context: this past weekend, on Saturday 8/8/26, my partner, friends, and I were targeted and verbally harassed with homophobic slurs by a man at the bar. What made it so much worse was that the owner, Brian, was standing with the man (later identified as Rich) and woman with dark hair and arm tattoos (who Brian says he has "no idea who we are talking about," which is weird because they DEFINITELY knew each other and were enjoying each others company, the three of them.) Brian, the owner, stood there and did absolutely nothing. Not a word was said to his friend or the woman. He stood there and watched as a group of PAYING customers were being harassed. He watched his patrons get humiliated and chose his friends over his business. We contact the owner, Brian, and he said that he would call us back on MONDAY to "make it right." Well, it is now Monday and we received a non-apology. He said he had spoken to Rich the next day. When asked why Brian didn't do anything in the moment, he said "I know my friend and when he's drunk like that I can't." So again, he chooses his own comfort instead of standing up for his paying guests. When asked why he supported his homophobic friend, he said, "he's not homophobic! His wife is bi!" Outing his friend's wife was not the apology I was expecting to get, but that's what we got. Without taking ANY accountability, he insisted that The Rock isn't "that" type of place. I keep thinking about how easily it could have been anyone else. Someone smaller. Someone younger who didn't have anyone else around with them. What if his friend had had more to drink? What was to stop him from doing more? Definitely not the owner. Now, if you own a business, the BAREST of minimums is to make sure your guests are safe. Brian failed at that completely, and I don't want anyone else to find th out the hard way. The Rock is NOT safe for anyone.
