    Great workout and fun activity!
    Luisa T.

Used our groupon for a belay certification and got to climb for a day! Didn't realize how fun this would be and it's definitely a killer workout. My lats were crying by the end of this, so I managed to have fun and get back day out of the way. Clean place, super friendly staff. Shoes and all the gear included!

this place rocks! The gravity vault is fantastic. friendly staff, clean facilities, and siiickkkk merch. ASK FOR NILSA!! she also ROCKS. she is so encouraging when you think you're about to give up, she will gas you up!! definitely having my next birthday banger here after covid baby!!

So much to do in terms of building up skill levels and attempting new challenges. The staff are very helpful, and there's room for everyone to social distance and yet be close enough to monitor. It's an extremely challenging workout!

Great routes. Very impressed. Only thing that was a turn off was kids running around under your route. Twice I was coming down had to be braked to have the kid skat so I (and them) go away unscathed. No real changing rooms. Two single fairly clean bathrooms. Sofas to lounge in in the rest area. Super impressive grip practice wall.

Pros: - Loads of climbing walls - Patient and knowledgable staff - Rock gym with climbing-related equipment - Auto-belays Cons: - Smells kinda like feet I came to the Gravity Vault with Yelp's Fit Club and had an amazing time! Our instructors were funny, patient, instructed us clearly, and made sure everyone was safe. We took their belay certification course and were "shown the ropes" (Get it? It's a pun, because it's a climbing gym, and you belay using ropes? No? Okay.) for two hours, learning how to tie a few different knots, how to use the harnesses and carabiners, how to fit climbing shoes, terminology to use, and what all the tape markers on the rock walls are for. They also showed us the other climbing equipment, like in the climbing gym, which had lots of cool, rock climbing-related equipment that you wouldn't find in a conventional gym. The great thing was, after getting the certification, we were left to climb for the rest of the night! A day pass is pretty affordable and I would definitely come back. It was a great workout and a lot of fun, especially for people who are competitive with themselves - it's fun to try the same wall more than once and see if you can climb it faster! Everything was as clean as you'd expect it to be. My hands felt pretty grimy after, but that's to be expected seeing as how people's hands and feet are all over the rock walls all day. The rental shoes smell like bowling alley shoes. Also to be expected. Overall, a great facility. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

For an indoor climbing gym this place rocks! They have so many options for top rope and for bouldering. Even when there are crowds of kids it's pretty easy to avoid them by just going to the other side of the main rock wall. The bouldering is separated into a few sections. As a beginner there are a lot of options for climbing and improving on my endurance and skill. I love that they switch up the walls frequently enough that it doesn't get boring. For first timers they have a bunch of classes and options to get belay certified. They also offer someone that can belay you for an hour or so if you are not certified and it's not too expensive. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

This place is a must do for any competitive person. Challenge yourself to reach new heights. Pun intended. Enjoy the thrill of becoming a controlled well balanced person. The freedom of being in your own head while climbing is great. Facilities are always clean and the equipment is up to date. Can use a one piece mat to fit around the 2 bouldering walls. Many different mats slid together is dangerous!

There are other available gyms that are taller like: GV Hoboken, Goat, etc. In terms of bouldering it seems small and limited. A section that piqued my interest was the overhang tunnel. This is first one that I see in a gym in the US, i've seen similar one in Austria. This was outstanding. Everything else was alright... I would say its worth coming this place for some interesting workout : )

There are private and group lessons available as well as event rooms for special occasions or gatherings. Every few months they change up their climbing routes, which is nice. On top of that, they have great deals from Monday to Wednesday. Recently, they've opened a cafe serving coffee and food. There is a workout section if you want to warm up or if you're not in the mood to climb. We happened to visit 8/17/24 with some family and unbeknownst to us, it was their 19th anniversary and they've been open since 1995! As part of the celebration, they hosted raffles, offered great deals, huge discounts on merch, and had food available for everyone! It was definitely an unexpected but nice surprise! Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, I highly recommend this place, it's a ton of fun and offers something for everyone!

I've only bouldered here so I can't comment much about top rope/lead…read more Staff are very friendly - asking membership questions, lost and found, intro climbing lessons etc have all been positive experiences for me. Climbers also tend to be friendly as well; people are usually more than happy to chat about beta and provide tips when asked. Routesetting is decent. Lots of fun, interesting problems at higher grades. The slab area upstairs is small but usually has some really enjoyable climbs. However, climbs below V2 are almost all ladders, and the routesetters' ideas for "spicy" low grade climbs tend to be worse handholds/steeper inclines rather than provide interesting challenges for newer climbers. Every now and then you come across a climb where the crux seems to be "try not to accidentally use this massive handhold from a different climb located in the most inconvenient spot possible." But overall, I'd say the routesetting is a positive. Now for the main reason that this review is only 2 stars: safety. Or rather, a complete lack of it. People sit/stand directly in front of the wall all the time, even when they're not about to climb anything. Most are happy to move when you ask, but you will get the occasional dirty look. Coaches and off-duty routesetters are often the worst offenders here. Chalk bags, climbing shoes, and phones frequently litter the ground directly underneath the wall. People walk directly underneath climbers in the bouldering area *all the time*, and even when other people are watching usually no one says anything. In over a year of climbing here, I have yet to see a single instance of an employee enforcing a safety rule in the bouldering area. Occasionally, there are horrifically dangerous climbs that almost make me think one of the routesetters has a side deal with a personal injury attorney (see attached photo). tl; dr: Lots of fun climbs, but when it comes to safety you're on your own.

If you and your climbing partner have a significant weight difference or you like feeling terrified…read morejust top roping - DO NOT GO HERE. This is the literal only gym I've ever been to that just drapes the top-ropes over the anchors, rather than looping them over once. (And I used to climb at the Movement in San Francisco which this was NOT the case at.) This creates a HUGE issue for the lighter weight climber when belaying, and is frankly so scary it's made me not like climbing anymore. All they offer are some giant, dirty kettlebells for you to lug around with you, but that only (kind of) stops you from launching in the air. It doesn't prevent the extreme amount of friction you have to fight through the Grigri. I've never even had this much of a problem lead climbing, because we can use an ohm, which you can't use top roping because it pins the rope to the wall which is unsafe for the climber. When I brought up this concern to someone who works there they shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal, and said "oh well it's better because lowering is faster this way" uh... okay, but it's not better if i'm literally fighting for my life simply to lower my partner and not kill them or be launched into the air?? but yeah, lowering faster is nice, sure. I want so badly to like this gym, but the complete lack of regard for safety is mind-boggling. The biggest shame is that it's the only gym of it's type in the area so it's either climb here unsafely, or don't climb at all. Shame on Movement Corporate for not doing more to regulate the safety at their gyms.

Great time here at the Rock Club…read more Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit. Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club. We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes. We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not "pushy" at all. After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms. May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day. Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes. Kudos to all the staff members there.
