The lady working there said she couldn't give me a quote because she needed to see the actual diploma even though I gave her a rough estimate on the size. Okay, that's fine. I live nearby so I went home and brought it back. She said it would take about two weeks for my framed diploma and I would get a phone call when it was ready. Well... I wait and still didn't get a phone call. I finally call the place and spoke to one of the men who does the framing. I ask him what the status of my frame is because it felt like it was a while ago that I took my diploma in for framing. He tells me that he's surprised that someone never called me and also told me it was ONE MONTH AND TWO DAYS ago that I dropped off my diploma but it would be done in a week. Guess what? Still didn't get a phone call and I had to call again to check the status. They said it was ready, so I finally pick it up! After over a month of waiting and I get my framed diploma. When I get home, I noticed that there were little spots of dirt and little pieces of hair or something in it. Thankfully they were nice and said they would be able to fix it and clean it up, but the experience in general was not the best.

Admittedly, this comes at a price, but I'm willing to pay that to get beautiful work & quality frames. You can buy "prefab" frames other places (or even get custom frames) but you get what you pay for. I have pieces that I LOVE & Jim has a talent for finding the right colors in matting & frames to suit your particular artwork. He spends the time to help you custom design your pieces (not just assembling what you tell him to, like at other stores). It's design. I had one instance when they got the frame wrong & it was rectified right away with no additional cost to me. Mistakes happen. I continue to use their services...years & years.

I like this place in that it's a neighborhood business and I love to support the local guys. Prices seem decent when compared to the other furniture stores in the area. It's a small place, though, so while you can get lost for hours in the Darvin superstore in OP, you really won't wander for more than 20 minutes or so in here. Because the store is small, their selection is pretty limited. However, they can order almost anything for you from their catalogs. If you're like me, that's only a slight PITA because I prefer to see and touch potential purchases before buying them. We ordered some chairs for our kitchen table through their catalogs and they arrived in about a week and were excellent quality. I do prefer to see and touch things, but in that instance it worked out for us. We also ordered a new mattress from this store and it was a lot cheaper than going to the mattress store further down Archer. They chopped off the price because we were "repeat customers", so they got it as low as they could for us. The store's interior is a little...dated. Some of the furniture that's on display screams late 1980s. Definitely reminds me of Clark Griswold's neighbors Todd & Margo, if you catch my drift. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing at the lamps on display, especially. Some of them were just plain weird looking. It seems counterproductive. For a furniture store that's been in business for 30+ years in the same location, they've clearly built up a decent neighborhood reputation. It's a little weird to walk in and see couches on display that are 20 years old (or at least look like it). Why don't they rotate their display to keep things fresh and keep new customers coming in? I have a feeling they rely quite a bit on repeat business. The exterior of the store looks a little industrial, but the window displays kill me. Plastic Betty Boops and Tweety Birds stand at attention, asking you to come in and drop good money on their merchandise. The first time I walked in I almost turned around and walked back out. Tweety was an effective spokesperson in 1994, notsomuch these days. Plus they're faded and they look a little dusty and beat up. Retire the darn things already! Pretty much everything you order here needs about a week to be delivered, so if you're ordering a new couch before your family Christmas party get in there and do it early. Delivery is free for every item--major bonus if you ask me. They won't haul away your old items, but they'll take them out to the trash for you. Decent service, decent prices. Good quality stuff, so they're not lying! For better selection hit up a larger showroom, but if you're not too picky and want to support the local guys, this is the place.

She again wasn't listening and continued to over talk with the lies talking to the mysterious someone else in background saying yeah it's on the truck it's coming! What a joke! Now I've called my banks to stop payments and guess what they want to set a date! Oh it's here! We want to deliver! You know it take 6-8weeks someone should've told you that! I left a message to cancel and now they want to charge me a 33% restocking fee! Wow! It's also funny that they started calling when I put those disputes in with my bank! They've should've been honest from the beginning and I could've took my business elsewhere! I have phone records to prove you started calling me in June! Leaving messages to deliver on June 12th! That's way over the eight weeks! Again that's not what was promised in the beginning! Damn I forgot what the kitchen set looks like! How about since you were late you give me a 33% discount! No I will also report this to the State's Attorney if I have to! This is bad business! Next time be upfront with your customers about the timeline!
