My friend ordered prime rib medium rare. The rib was served Medium to Medium well. Shanna took it away & brought a Médium rare one, which was much better. It has been years since my last visit so I was happy to see the clean patio with umbrella covered tables. The interior has that classic dive bar feel with beer signs and booths filled with regulars who know the staff by name. Our order comprised of a breakfast sandwich filled with Winner's sausage, Mofo omelette and The Andy Omelette (filled with ham, cheese and onions). We were pleased with the lack of grease found in the omelettes and crisp veggies. The prices are hard to beat with breakfast costing you anywhere from $4-$7. The cherry on top from the whole experience was the great customer service from the owner. He was the perfect balance of cozy hospitality yet gave us time and space to chow down at our own pace.

The BPTS arrived after the usual wait and was hot from the fryer. It comes with nothing, but the usual garnishes are available for an up-charge that seems a tad rich. $1 for a slice of winter tomato? Pass. $1 for a slice of cheese? Pass. $1 for a slice of onion? Pass. The bun was fresh and the pickle spear was beginning to trend from crisp and crunchy towards a hint of limp. I enjoyed the porky goodness and flashbacks to my childhood BPTS memories. Will I return? Probably. I hope that the kitchen will do breakfast-for-lunch.
