The chicken salad sandwich.......it was good but in my opinion it was too chunky, I think that the chicken at least needs to be cut up more so I can get everything in one bite. The chicken chunks are big and only thing can fit in your mouth. It's also watery. The bread was not toasted enough and had too much butter on it, all I could taste. It just fell apart. Very messy! To fix that I think they just cut it up more and use less butter and toast bread more it would be fine. Biscuits and gravy was good I would order it again. But it did come out cold. Had a quick stop in Findlay to meet with a breeder to pick up our new dog and this place came up. I would ( never again) go to toasted yolk every Saturday and Sunday for a mimosa then I started having breakfast and one morning gave my order to the young lady at the bar and asked if I could add potatoes to my order she had no problem with that... Some douche comes out of the kitchen and indicates that they don't take orders off of the menu.... I have to order what I is best for me due to health issues... There are ways to handle things, and there are ways not to handle things. This guy came out of the kitchen on a mission to be a jerk and he succeeded and I have not been back since and would not go back ever again. When I go to Columbus, I usually try to stop in Findlay for what I need. Whether it's breakfast, gas or just a pit stop, Findlay's an easy stop and way easier to get in and out of then let's say Toledo. So, since I had left Columbus early, I was starving by the time I got to this part of the state. Plus, I needed to stop at the gas station, so it was a 2 for 1 thing for me. Anyway, I found this restaurant on Yelp before I'd even left my hotel. I try to do stuff that isn't to chain-y like Bob Evans. (Waffle House is the exception because I LOVE WAFFLE HOUSE.) Anyway, it's easy to find and when I pulled up at 8 AM on a Sunday, the place wasn't to busy, YET. Anyway, they have a fabulous menu which is what drew me in initially. Some places have real pork heavy menus and charge $13 to eat three different style of pork. This place has a great variety that isn't entirely pork based. There were two menu items that had my eye, and the one I chose was brisket tacos. Holy hell were they good. They weren't messing around with this dish! As soon as I dug in I knew this was going to be fabulous. The brisket was juicy, sliced and perfectly cooked. The tacos were juicy all the way around which I absolutely loved. The hash browns were house made and spot on perfect. Not your usual Gordon Food Service, coney Island garbage cheap-o hash browns. I could make a meal out of them entirely on their own. So I chose to sit at the bar since it was me dining alone and it was just easier then hogging a whole 4 top table to myself, especially on a Sunday. Awesome. But, here's where I got super critical. When the hostess offered it to me, I could see that the bar area was already filthy as if someone had just finished eating there. I could see the mess from the hostess station it was that obvious. When I told the hostess I would sit there only if she cleaned the area first, she seemed embarrassed that it was messy. Fine. I get it. I'm not trying to be a pain, but a simple wipe down of the counter for about 30 seconds of someone's time would've solved this issue. She asked another co-worker for spray and a rag and wiped it down for me immediately. Mind you, I'm not a germ a phobe by any stretch of the imagination. But dirty is dirty. I could see it from the front door. I notice these things. Most people do, we just don't vocalize it. How did anyone in this place not wipe the table or counter tops down in between clients, especially post covid? Anyway, this place is still fantastic, and does breakfast well. I would gladly stop in here next time I'm in the area as the food's legit. Findlay has a secret hidden gem with this place I tell you! read more

My husband and I have been parroting this establishment since it opened. We've probably been there 20 times. We have always had exceptional service and the quality of the food has always been divine. However, yesterday we went for lunch and the food was severely undercooked... the bacon in my omelette was all but raw, and the eggs my husband ordered were barely cooked through and the chicken was extremely hard to cut and chew. Now, I'm chalking this up to us being there 1 and a half hours before close. I'm not trying to be a hater, we still love going there. A little bit bland, but also personalized video and things on the little decor they have. Food: 3.5/5. Mine was good, but so oily that in order to eat my tacos, we had to let all the oil drain out. And wrap them in a napkin. I'm honestly thinking I ruined my napkin (TY, if you see this I'll pay for it!). Despite the fact they were very oily, they were very good! My boyfriend's food was GREAT! He really liked it, and I had a bite of his biscuits and gravy and it was yummy. A lot of the other food we saw come out looked great, and someone (the owner? The chef? The manager?) did touch base with a few tables early on. He clearly cares that people enjoy it. The cold brew was good, and I got mine spiked. I want to say that I frequent a Toasted Yolk Cafe frequently in Savannah, GA and I always love it. I cannot say the same thing about todays experience. The service was okay, waitress was very nice but slow. I got a Big Ben Omelete with hashbrown casserole and we also got some French toast. The food took much longer than I was used to be delivered and when it was delivered it was not hot, just warm. Also my biscuit did not come with the meal because "they were having issues" they did bring it later and it was very good. Also, the hash brown casserole is one of my favorites and I have to say this one was no where near as good as what I am used too. Overall I would say this was average and even though it is a chain it shows how different each location can be. Once she arrived, the orders were placed, and we waited on the drinks to arrive, about 15 minutes. Once we waited on our food to arrive, which was 40 minutes, our server never checked on us. Three of the 5 ppl.in our party ran out of drinks. Finally Once our food came, we got 1 small syrup container for all 5 of us. Everyone in our party ordered pancakes but one. We went to this place for my daughters birthday and let's just say the service was horrendous. We waited over an hour for our food. We had argumentative waitresses. One waitress made a face about us to another table, and the other one argued with us from our table to the back to the kitchen where we could hear what she was saying. The second waitress wasn't even our waitress. The manager was new and unfortunately had to cook and be a manager. Judging by the burnt chicken and inability to control his staff, he needs way more experience. The food is mediocre. The drinks are good. He did comp the bill, which was not necessary, but appreciated. This is the second time I've been to this restaurant with the same results. We have had mediocre food and poor service. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. I placed an order online and headed there to pick it up. When I walked in the restaurant was pretty empty. Every thing looked clean and well maintained. There was an employee at what looked like a coffee bar. She saw me walk in but kept on with whatever she was doing. Across the way was another employee standing at a register texting, she did not realize I was there. Finally after a few minutes the employee that was at the coffee bar came around and asked how my day was. I proceeded to tell her good & what I was there for. She walked away and emerged fairly quickly with a bag. I asked her if my drink was in the bag and she stated no. She then took a quick look at the receipt and realized I had ordered a soft drink. Mind you this drink was $3.29 & was a small drink for sure. A male then came out from a doorway and asked if she was getting something for me. I advised they had forgotten my drink so she went to grab it. He seemed friendly and thanked me for patronizing his business. I said you're welcome and asked for disposable utensils. He handed me some and I left. I ordered the club sandwich & hash brown casserole. The club was good but nothing to write home about. Just a run of the mill club sandwich. The hash brown casserole was flavorless. It definitely needed some seasoning. Salt, pepper, anything really. The portion is very large and I was unable to eat all of it in one sitting. I will save it for later & add some seasoning to the hash browns. All in all I'd say 7.5/10. I'll have to comeback to try their breakfast. read more
