First time, my dog was cut by the owner and the haircut was shorter than I would like but was told that it needed to be because his hair was tangled.. Ultimately I didn't mind so when it was time for a haircut again, I decided to use the groom room again... I gave specific instructions not to cut his hair short this time!! When I came back to get him almost 4 hrs later..... I WAS SHOCKED!!!!! Not the same dog I dropped off.. I brought my two dogs in today for the first time, after always taking them to large retail groomers. I booked at a relatively short notice but thankfully they were able to accommodate me. The online booking process was easy and they text confirmation and pick up notices. The staff was so friendly and courteous and the store was very clean. I really never know what kind of cut to ask for but they figured it out and both dogs look and smell great! It didn't take long at all and they both came out happy. Extremely disappointed for the second time at the groom room. The first time our dog went he was given a bald spot, things happen honest mistake it grows back. We decided to give them another chance today and of course when I'm home we discover an open wound under his leg near his groin area. When I asked the female Amanda about this she said oh he scratched himself, then it became, well it was a scab that he must have reopened. My dog is very happy and playful his favorite cuddle position is on his back so we can rub his stomach, which he did prior to us dropping him off. He had NO scratches or wounds. To say I'm disappointed alone is an understatement, our dog is family and he wasn't treated with the care we thought he deserved. After calling again to speak to the manager Samantha & get the names she did offer to personally groom him next time and talk to her employee but as I stated to her I'm not sure I feel comfortable because this is now TWO separate instances. If I decide to take him again and have better experiences I will gladly make sure to write another review. read more

Took my newly adopted cat to get nails clipped. Expected both front and back paws to be done. They take my cat in the back and before I knew it, they bring him out. Only front paws are done but they charge me full price. Not sure if they increased their prices since I was last there but, you do half the job but charge me full price?! Cashier was friendly, (of course she would be, she is taking your money after all) but the girl who brought my cat out looked like she would rather be anywhere else. I had left the Groom Room years before because they had cut my dog while grooming. I returned giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking Maybe they got rid of previous groomers or perhaps gained Experience. Well looks like things haven't changed a bit there. Do not go to this place!!! The lady name "Christine" or "Christy" was so nasty! They shaved my mini labradoodle's head saying he has knots and there was no way they could've give him a trim or bath without shaving him. We never agree it's okay to shave him. We told the girl who took our appointment to call us If shave is needed. We did mentioned when we took him there we weren't able to combed him around the neck area with the E-come after he got neutered. The girl said they will call us first if they need to shave him to get our okay. That's not the point! That Christine girl was so loud and rude, shouted at us that the girl told us already he will be shaved. I said why would I be so upset if we knew he would be shaved. Not only that we specifically said trim his tail and a sanitary cut but none of these were done and we got charged for those services. She slammed the door at us saying "SORRY" maybe it was a miss-understanding and told the cashier to take $20 off then went back to the back talking shit about us saying we told them he would be shaved. I've taken them here before. I have three dogs. This appointment I brought one dog and it's usually $70-$80. After I drop him off they called me to let me know it would now cost $100 because he was matted. I said I understood. But when I picked him up, the groomer came out to let me know how bad he was matted And that I needed to do a better job brushing him. I told her that he doesn't like to be brushed and that's why I was now bringing the dogs to be groomed every eight weeks! The issue I have is she is charging more money and now basically schooling me and telling me what I need to do. Her nastiness made me concerned that she may be taking it out on my dog, I don't know that for sure, but I was not going to take the risk. My three dogs and I will find somewhere else read more

I bring my dog Bella here and they do an awesome job! Bella is very hyper and its hard for us to take her out and put her in the car to get her there. I had an appt one day and when I got there, there was a letter on the door saying sorry we don't have hot water were closed. It would of been nice if they called the people who had an appt that day and said not to come in. I also don't live any were near Amboy Rd. So I was a little upset about that. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL to bring your dogs here. I took My 8month puppy in to get her tear marks trimmed and nails trimmed, I heard my puppy squealing and screaming continuously inside. When I ask someone who worked there if that is my puppy screaming, they told me " its not my dog screaming" When my puppy came out her paw was covered in blood and was bleeding . I tell them "OMG she is bleeding"...He tells me... "its normal and that they cut it too short" Charged me full price for HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE if you love your pet there are many other dog salons on the island. This has never happened to me when I went to other doggie groomers. My puppy was traumatized! It is completely unacceptable for a professional groomer to make a mistake and then be so dismissive about it. Animals have no voice, so we have to advocate and speak for them. read more

Picture this...Saturday on memorial day weekend. They ended up doing a great job but not without a huge inconvenience to me and my Cat. I gave them clear cut instructions.....no lion cut just shave. Pick him up. Take him home (btw I live abt 20 mins away each way without traffic) and he has a lion cut. I was extremely annoyed. I called and they said I could bring him back. As they should. However, being its Memorial Day weekend at 1230 in the afternoon, the traffic was horrible. Not to mention having to put my cat back in the carrier which is a struggle in itself and obviously him being petrified. In total, it cost me an extra hour and a half. I asked the owner if she'd give me half off the next time I come because of the inconvenience. Her answer "why would I do that? His haircut is fine now." We went back and forth. And of course she blamed me for not looking at him before I left which means I cannot trust her to following simple clear cut instructions. No lion cut. Just shave. Doing the math..1/2 price came to $30. That's all. Just for my inconvenience on a holiday weekend. Her answer...simply no. She cannot lose out on $30 to keep a customer happy for a huge inconvenience due to her not being able to follow simple instructions. Very bad business woman. Very bad. read more

Just got back with a friend and her dog. Our fogs went to get their nails trimmed. Mine were trimmed hers were still long. We told them the dogs are very nervous and they still brought them in together. We heard crying and when my friend yelled is everything alright back there? No answer. When they came out they said one dog pooped and the other stepped on it. Accidents happen! Overall we will NOT patronize the Groom Room again unprofessional young girls. read more
