In the case of my yard, manual raking and disturbing the soil just enough for good seed contact were part of the recommended treatment. Fifteen pounds of seed and 23 days of watering later, my lawn was looking pretty good. On the one hand, the price was a bit high for the size of my lawn. On the other hand, there was no pressure to take on additional services on a recurring basis, and the results were very good.
