I called up Grout Doctor and they came in on time with a competitive estimate for my master bath shower, garden tub and half bath my kid will use. They are friendly, professional and masters of their craft. Jeff came out to get a visual on the job and estimated on the spot. The following week Garrett came out and spent a couple days working meticulously on the removal, repair and making my shower and tub and tile look like new. I've bought multiple houses and it always comes down to a neglected shower by the previous owners. Luckily I've used Grout Doctor in the past so knew who exactly to call. We hired Grout Doctor to clean and refinish our walk in shower (tiles and grout) as well as clean and re-caulk the glass door. They did a great job! Jeff showed up timely for the estimate and explained everything that would happen, including how long we should not use that shower prior and after the work. He was easy to talk to and was no pressure. Willy showed up a few minutes early on the day of the work. I'm calling this out because our experience has been contractors are almost always late or no show without a call. Willy was also easy to talk to and carefully explained what he was going to do that day. At the end of the work, he did a great job. The shower looks new and Willy corrected the gaps in the grout. We were very happy with the work and would recommend them. My only caution is the work is not cheap - in our case $760. A handyman would not have done as good a job and quality is what we wanted. We hired the GROUT DOCTOR a few weeks ago to re-grout and re-caulk our Master Bedroom shower. Updated: Jeff from The Grout Doctor finally got back to me. They sent the tech back out and if definitely looks better. Not perfect but a lot better. They went from a 1 star to a 4 star! My marble countertops were in need of some help. I called Grout Doctor and Jeff came and gave me an estimate. I hired his company and the tech came and worked on my countertops. At one point I walked into the kitchen and thought "Oh, the countertops look great but the island has not been done yet." Shortly after the tech told me he was complete. I mentioned that the island did not look like it was done. He said that it needed to be sanded and rebuffed in order to improve the look. That was not part of the estimate. Jeff the owner never told me that my island might need additional work. read more

Summary: Left grout clogging our drain, and the grout repairs didn't hold up. Detail: The Grout Doctor repaired the grout in our shower. They were pleasant to work with, and appeared to do a good job. A year later, when cleaning out the drain, I found the drain full of grout. When I called the owner he said "I've told them not to do that". (Indicating they've done this to other customers.) Since then the owner has ignored my calls and messages. And, the grout repairs have not held up. The grout has come out, leaving cracks that are difficult to clean. Poor work, and no willingness to take responsiblity. read more

Everyone I came in contact with at the Grout Doctor was very professional and friendly. They did a fantastic job on our tile shower regrouting and refinishing for a fair price. My shower looks like new. I had mildew under the caulk. Willlie took out the old caulk and did a great job. Then he cleaned and sealed the grout. I found a coupon online that they honored. If you like DIY projects you should hire the Grout Doctor because when they are "done" you will have to do everything yourself. They came to my house to add a black sealant product to my newly installed grout because the grout was bleeding out black in our showers and kitchen backsplash. The "tech" didn't prep the tile as per the instructions on the bottle. He applied the pitch black sealant product and allowed it to harden on the tile. It looks awful! Think kindergartener tracing something on paper with black paint. He asked me to look over his work in one bathroom and I had to tell him that it looked really bad and that he left product all over the tiles and the grout lines looked wavey. He didn't finish his work (two bathroom enclosures and kitchen backsplash). When he left at 4PM and told me that he had a long drive home and left the stain all over my tile. He was "done" one bathroom and had "not even started cleanup" on the second bathroom. He gave me the phone number to his boss so that I could let him know if I wanted them to come back. We decided that we wanted him to clean up what he had done thus far and to try a clear sealant on the remaining shower wall since we figured that he couldn't possibly mess that up. He knew that I would not be home but I informed him I could remotely unlock the door and was in contact with the owner of grout doctor. The tech knocked and walked away on camera. His boss, the owner, was unreachable by phone or text. Their shop phone number went right to voicemail. When my husband called to follow up on the work and follow-up the owner said that the way it was is "as good as they could do". Terrible work, terrible customer service, and terribly unreliable. If you want quality work and a company that wants you to be pleased, keep looking. read more

BTW, called during posted business hours and the vm "greeting" said they were already closed. After seeing other reviews out there, I'm actually glad they didn't respond. Just had GD redo the grout in the kitchen, master bath and guest bath. The tile was poorly done by the builders contractor and has been deteriorating for years. Jeff came out and provided an estimate then assigned Willie as our tech. Willie did a great job on all phases of the project. 4 wks ago., Grout Doctor (GD) visited our home to provide an estimate. A technician was assigned and began work the following week. To date, the job remains unfinished and we have been forced to contact another company to finish the work. Grout Doctor has not returned our calls and has left their materials and machinery in our home. Our master bath is worse off than prior to GD's work. All surfaces are incomplete and the calking around the shower-floor has been removed (allowing water to seep through the seams). However, GD has shown no sense of urgency or accountability. Since initially contacting GD, they have failed to show-up on numerous occasions, failed to return calls/voicemail messages, failed to respect the our time & proven themselves incapable of fulfilling the services bragged about on their website. This is absolutely the work service we have received from any company. We even contacted the owner and asked that they come pick-up their materials and tools. Predictably, we received no response. S. I am very pleased with Grout Doctor's level of service. I received what I would consider a very fair quote. Once I hired them, the technician came on time and reviewed all work and estimated time frames with me. They really impressed me when I had to call them back due to some small cracking in the new grout. I was prepared to hear a litany of excuses of why they wouldn't come or why it was not covered on the warranty. My elderly parents live in Cumming, GA, and had recently purchased a home in a nicer neighborhood there. However, the grout in the kitchen of this home, was a very dark brown color, quite depressing, and they wanted the color changed to a much lighter shade (off white), and a sealant applied as well, plus an overall general tile cleaning to boot. As my mother is an immigrant from Germany, she is quite discerning as Germans are known to be, and expects the highest quality job possible, and will not settle for ANY sloppy work of any kind. My parents are generally not satisfied with contractors who have come into their home, simply because they are demanding and expect the highest levels of attention to detail in and outside of the home. I must say that we were all very pleased with the work that Grout Doctor completed in our kitchen. The technician/ craftsman who showed up was courteous and friendly (I forget his name but he was a red-head with a red beard). He actually laid down flat on the floor to make sure the application of the new grout color and sealant was meticulously applied, by hand, taking many hours to complete the entire kitchen, never losing patience or never rushing the job. My parents were so impressed with his thoughtful, careful work and the result was just beautiful! No messy lines, no inconsistencies across the tiled area in texture or in color or in the opacity/depth of color and sealant, no missed spots. Therefore, we'd really like to call out the excellent work of this technician and this particular store. Jeff Arnold, the owner, was also available to answer our numerous questions and assured us we'd receive top quality. Terrible! Jeff, the owner, told me 2 to 3 hours to do the job, 7 hours after the start I was advised they might not be able to finish the job same day. The equipment they brought was broken and cost time while one man spent time fooling with it. The other man, Willie, was hard at work and doing a splendid job. I was him as he worked and could see clearly he was doing it right and doing it as if it were his own. They were cleaning and sealing our tile floors. The other man spent a great deal of his time at my home sitting in his truck smoking and playing with his phone. I called to complain that the work was progressing very slowly and explained why. Nothing was done and no follow up response was received. The sealing process was very different from the process Willie was using to apply the sealer. And clearly was not up to snuff. We will hire another company to come and seal the areas Willie did not do. I watched them both and I can tell you for sure it was not done well. After the crew felt the job was finished I contacted the owner to make my payment. He didn't bother to ask me how it went or how I felt about the job that was done.
