Stanley Steemer gave me a quote of two areas, a family room rug and steps for $150. This was done online. When two men arrived at my home, the quote was tripled to $437. Just the price of the stairs was $150. I refused to pay that price. I was upset because I removed all pole lamps, ottomans, coffee table, etc. I will never engage them again. read more

I scheduled a tile and grout cleaning for 2 bathrooms on the company's website, and was quoted $178.50 total for the job. When their employees arrived they told me that the bathroom was going to be an additional $150 because I wanted the shower area cleaned as well. I was very disappointed because I feel like they were using a bait and switch tactic. I completed my home information on their web site in full as they asked. The web site never specified anything about the bathrooms except for how many I wanted cleaned. they never asked for square footage, which I would gladly have provided. they don't break out shower stalls from the entire bathroom. I would have told them that I wanted the shower stalls cleaned as well. I don't appreciate their tactics and can't imagine other prospective customers do either. I suggest that they do a better job of quoting total cost upfront, rather than surprising people when their employees arrive. I will be finding a more reputable firm to work with. read more

This was my first time using Stanley Steemer carpet cleaning services. The technicians were nice enough but were told not to use any scents or deoderizers since I am sensitive to smells. They only cleaned the basement level carpet and the entire house now smells like the sickly sweet smell they added to the steem clean. I proceeded to call Management and they actually debated with me that the smell was pre-existing and the technicians don't use anything to upset allergies. I requested Management send someone else out to smell for themselves. A second team came out quick enough and re cleaned the carpet with just water. It helped a bit but the smell still lingers and is still quite strong. I even taste the smell while attempting to eat my lunch. Never again!!!! read more

I hired Stanley Steemer to clean tile in my house and the guys did a great job. There was a lot of dirt and gime caught in the grout and they got it all up. Now here's the issue. When they first came, they pressured me on several upsells of questionable value. First, the job came in at $1k, and they recommended "honeing" my tile. I don't think this tile should be honed because it's naturally rough. They wanted an additional $1,800 for it. I said no, and they asked me an additional time and I really had to put my foot down. The second issue was during checkout. Their computer asks for a tip... 15-25%. I don't believe services should be tipped unless, maybe, I am asking for something above and beyond. But when someone is paid above minimum wage and they're doing their job... why am I asked to tip??? I clicked "no". Then the guy asked me an additional three times for a tip! Insane. So, while these guys did a great job, I'll never use them again. The pressure tactics are ridiculous. read more

Update: Well, as for Stanley Steemer as a whole I am very satisfied that the company finally made things right. As for the Atlanta location I still would never use them again. After multiple phone calls with the local company and finally a bad review on yelp, the corporate office called apologizing for what happened and explain that they were unaware of the situation. Turns out although Mike, the regional manager, had originally told us that his boss would only give us $50 back or a Stanley Steemer's gift card, the corporate office refunded the majority of the cost, except for the price of coming out to our location, which I believe is more than fair. I really admire when upper management works hard to make things better. Although I realize that finally getting a "wrong made right" came from a bad review, I believe that, after speaking with Paul, he really did feel bad for what happened and was extremely kind and understanding! As a healthcare worker, I know that sometimes people just want to be heard and taking a few moments to do this is not hard. As for the refund, I never expected the full amount, just what was fair and Stanley Steemers did this. Thank you! read more

John and his associate Keith did a great job cleaning my carpeted spaces. We needed the carpeting cleaned and protected in preparation for our new baby so it was vitally important that John and Keith came to my home in the appropriate PPE...and they did. I allowed these people into my home to clean my air ducts and it cost me close to $800 but that wasn't the problem because I needed to have it done. The problem was the quality of the work and the total lack of clean up and attention to small but important things like using a utility blade to score around the the vent covers to avoid ripping off all the stucco on my ceiling. I am no professional contractor but I know enough to know that if I rip the ceiling in one place I don't just continue to do the same thing from room to room. Now it is probably going to cost me more to have me ceiling throughout my home repaired then it did to have the air ducts cleaned out which by the way did no seem to change much in the line of a lot of dust and particles blowing in my house. I was so hoping this would have been a good experience because I was planning on having them clean all my wood floors but that's not happening. Retraction notice On April 1, 2024, my wife scheduled a carpet cleaning with Stanley Steemer. I had complained about the workmanship. After complaining, customer services sent techs back to my home to re-clean the carpet. I thank the customer service team for willing to make it right. Andrew came out and did a great job. We have berber carpet and a bulldog. It was time to get them cleaned. I made my appointment online which was very easy. I had a lot of communication from Stanley Steemer via text message and also a phone call. The workers came and they did an amazing job. They showed me all the hidden spots for my dog had peed, which was shocking. The carpets looked amazing. There was a small bit of smell after the carpet dry the next day but now the smell is totally gone. The dog smell in my house is 100% gone now and we are so happy . We will be calling them back to get the upstairs carpets done, and all the stairs done as well. This was a fantastic company and a really great experience. Please DO NOT use this company! We booked them to touch up our white sofa. We booked them as a preventative measure to keep the sofa from becoming dirty. The result was horrible! They left dirt streaks on our sofa and refused to give us a refund without sending someone else out to try again. The manager came out today (a week later) to redo the job, only to leave our sofa even more dirty than the first technician, and with a greasy film over the cushions. We can't even sit on (or touch) the sofa due to the greasy film they left on it. I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied and disappointed with their services and customer service. Please save your money! Stanley Steamer provided a quote via the telephone upon advising of what I would like completed. I was quoted approximately $1,700.00 for tile and granite floors cleaned and air duct cleaning. Stanley Steamer employees came to my residence on the first scheduled date to clean the floors. The final price was approximately $3,600.00 for just the floor cleaning. Needless to say, I canceled my scheduled appointment for the duct cleaning. My floors were not even completed for what I was charged for. read more

Their supervisor even showed up to check up on them while they were cleaning the furniture. The guys did a good job and asked if I was satisfied with the cleaning and I was. I even tipped them both. You hire them, set up the appointment and then they come up with their own personal dimensions. From asking on their website for 3/2 with kitchen and leaving room (1600ft) house at $650. I called August 12 to make an appointment for two rooms of tile floors cleaned and sealed - my kitchen and my sunroom. I was told that as long as the space was less than 200 sq foot it would only be counted as one room (even though the website said 300 sq foot). Anyway, when the technicians got to the house today, they said that my kitchen (less than 200 sq foot) was two rooms and that drove the cost up substantially. So we sent the technicians on their way. Which was incredibly aggravating, as I'd already moved out all my furniture in the two rooms. The upsell at the end is always a turn off...(trying to sell spot cleaner, add on deodorizer etc.) I had one area rug (9x12)and two sets of stair runners cleaned and it cost $579. The cleaner checked another area rug in the house and told me it also needed cleaned. I gave him the go ahead without asking the price upfront and so at the end, he came to me with a price of $942 after adding the second area rug on (also 9 x12) after the shock left my face and I tipped he and his partner $20 each he took off a full 10% to get me down to $850...So...know the true price ahead of time & dont add on stuff as I did:). The worst customer service imaginable! I dealt with Ciara Stephens the so-called quality assurance manager who is terrible at supporting customers. At the time I filed a complaint, it went to Ciara, but she took her own sweet time to get back. She decided instead of actually doing her job, she was out of the country from what I was told in Italy. Meanwhile, my carpets and the service were a terrible experience, and you have to wait for Ciara to actually take the case and speak with the customer. GC, the onsite manager, is a joke of a person who came but became irritated over the phone. He simply tries to act he is customer-oriented but it is a facade that is very telling. Both of them together, Ciara and GC are some of the laziest people to follow-up with customers. I would not recommend Pedro or Basil or Philip to come onsite and clean your carpets. They have a toxic work culture and it shows even by managers such as Ciara and GC. read more
