We love the staff here as they have so much compassion and love for the kids in the center. In the infant room the teachers are very flexible and make sure the infant's day is as close to a day at home as possible. They allow you to bring in food and snacks from home once the infant is old enough for solid foods and have no problem adjusting to any meal substitutions. Our child loves coming to the center and lights up every time she sees her teachers. They incorporate age specific activities in their curriculum to further the child's growth. Education is a big part of the curriculum in all classrooms which is very important to us. The Gingerbread House was voted best daycare center in Syracuse for a reason and I would highly recommend enrolling your child(ren) here.

That was called the Downtown Branch. Anyway. This is not a great YMCA by any stretch of the imagination, and it has a strange layout and looks a little bit like it was built in 1952 or something. Nevertheless I was happy that it was here, and the pool was mostly empty, and while it smelled weird, it was so quiet and only one other person was there the whole time I was there. That was much better for my swimming than most others I've tried, especially my home one in Buffalo (Williamsville) where the pool gets so crowded, it's a joke. However, some of the equipment desperately needs replacing, so I can't really give more than a four. Rusted out and really poor for lifting. At least getting in here was no big problem.

I can't say enough good things about the Daycare. At (TWG) educating the children is very important. They start from the Infant Stage on up! They work on Colors, Shapes, ABC's, Gross Motor Skills, you name it and they apply it into your child's everyday activities. Your child gets a daily sheet, letting you know what they did, ate, how long they napped, they even recorded diaper changes!! They have a few different playgrounds, as well as an indoor Gross Motor Room. This way the kids can all play, but it's never "Big Kids with Little Kids" They run a very structured schedule and somehow keep all the kids on a great routine. They have a photographer come in at the beginning of every year and take pictures of all the kids and you can buy packages. They also take the kids on field trips (with your permission obviously) and go to pumpkin farms etc. Like I said before, I can't say enough about TWG!! I've read some of the other reviews about the Owners caring about money etc???? First of all, show me someone who owns their own business and DOESN'T care about the money! Money is what keeps their business running, food in their kid's mouths, and their bills paid. They have the same concerns as every other "RESPONSIBLE ADULT IN THE WORLD" The prices are comparable if not better than other daycare centers. PLUS it includes Breakfast, Lunch and 2 Snacks/Drinks daily! Please don't let this "Bitter ex-employee" who wrote one review, get in your head about this place, being anything but GREAT!! All you have to do is take a tour and see for yourself. First it's much bigger inside than it looks from the road. I never would have thought it was as big as it is, or that there were all these playgrounds around the back. The thing that impressed me THE MOST when we went on our tour was the "Sound" Every other daycare center I'd ever been to, as soon as I would walk in I'd hear screaming/crying etc...Not at TWG, we walked in and walked past all the classrooms, all the kids were engaged and seemed to be having fun! ALL the kids looked like they were having a blast! Karen recommended we leave our Son in the classroom that he'd be entering, if we decided to go to TWG, to see how he did. We left him in the room, took the rest of the tour and he could of cared less! We were sold, and our son started that Monday. I must also mention this, in the past 5 years of us picking up & dropping off our son I've heard screaming or crying "MAYBE" 5 or 6 TIMES!!!!!! That's a mild miracle in itself, if you ask me!!! I also think that speaks Volumes and Shows that the children at TWG are HAPPY & CONTENT, and well taken care of. Because we don't live in the ESM area, this September my son will be finishing up his time at Together We Grow, and beginning Kindergarten in our District. It will be sad to say goodbye to Karen and all of the teachers that took such great care of our Son!! Anytime anyone asks me about childcare I recommend TWG and will continue to do the same! Although I did not choose to send my child to this DayCare, I feel compelled to write a review of…read morethis DayCare since I had a very positive experience with the owner and also very positive reports from current and past parents of kids who have come here/are coming here. I toured the DayCare with the owner and when I asked the owner if I could speak to some current parents to hear their experiences first hand, the owner promptly reached out after we finished the tour and had 2 current parents call me. They both had extremely positive things to say about the DayCare and staff. I also had a friend of a friend who had a child that went here and they also said it was a really nice place. Ultimately I chose different DayCare which was more spacious but also more costly, so you'll need to weigh the options and make your decision according to your preferences/budget. Overall, I think this DayCare, Together we grow, is a great option and I feel it's good to give credit where credit is due and that's why I am writing this review.
