Had a hockey stick taken while my kid was on the ice. Sad that this would happen at a place like this.

Do they have a communal shower at the y in skanatles?

Hi! We are no longer a Y, we are now the Skaneateles Community Center. We do have showers in our locker rooms for members and day pass guests.

There's truly nothing better than a yoga class at Sky and taking in that gorgeous view of the lake, no matter the season. I came to Sky 3 years ago petrified that I'd make a total embarrassment of myself as I had never attempted yoga, but they were so helpful and welcoming that I instantly fell in love with yoga, and despite all of the studios around the country I've now frequented, Sky will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart. Their instructors are absolutely amazing; Courtney weaves her passion and love for the business into every thing she does, it's palpable. The community of classmates are always so friendly and warm; it's the closest thing I presently have to my own little community and I always look forward to connecting with them. There's always something new and fresh to look forward to in addition to the perfect weekly schedule which is created to have something for everyone of any skill level. Presently during COVID they have a really great system in place for streaming, special classes and more, though I'll always prefer the in-studio experience (which is open and very clean!) I can't wait until Covid passes and we can go back to the full classes full of love and light, I look forward to the little things they do to make every class special (essential oils, lighting, amazing music). Sky is so incredible that they're worth a special trip to Skaneateles, but especially if you're in the area, on vacation, or on the lake, stop in for a soul-changing experience!

To give some context, I have done intro offers/comped classes at almost every studio in town. Breathe, yoga vibe, M/body, Tru, JCC...I've "yoga'd" it up with very mixed emotions in each experience, and don't get me wrong, many have been great. Then there were other times when thoughts like "my body isn't right for this" and "everyone else here can do this and I just can't do this" alllll the way to "why would anyone do yoga this shit is dumb." After participating in a Yelp event with Danielle, I felt SEEN (via Zoom!) and my body was like OKAY YAS! I signed up for the intro offer IMMEDIATELY and have been enjoying very COVID friendly outdoor classes at their Woodbury street studio. Classes range from 2-5 people max and students are encouraged to do what is right. NOT what is right for the proper/perfect pose, not what looks right...but what feels right. I know this seems super intuitive, but the stress on peace and play has really makes these classes special, not to mention the hour FLIES by. I have yet to take a class from a different instructor, but am looking forward to in the very near future! I highly recommend giving the intro offer a try. I plan on buying 5 class passes after my intro offer to flexibly meet some varying wellness goals. If you are travelling from out of town or a performer at Geva, this is a PERFECT option for catching a workout! Convenient location with danger of overspending at Fuego post-class, as they are located in the same building. YAY Danielle YAY Pele Yoga. I can't wait to watch this amazing biz flourish and shine its light all over Rochester.

They do not sit at the front of the room and instruct rather they interact with you during class helping to position you to go further into your practice and even help with unfamiliar poses. There is a wide variety of classes with something to fit everyone's schedule. The studio is in the heart of downtown and conveniently located next to a coffee shop for a great pre and post hangout. It is a single room studio but they even have a shower in the back. I am so glad to have met Danielle and had the opportunity to join the Pele community. Their intro offer gives you a chance to try all the classes and fully immerse yourself into the space. Don't skip out on this place! ‍

I wish our schedules lined up more, especially on the weekends, but otherwise, I do not have a complaint in the world. It's a restorative practice opposed to some other studios that I have gone to. Infinite Light Yoga is still the best Yoga studio in Syracuse, NY…read more Tony, who leads most of the classes that ILY has to offer (including the teacher training they now do) is the real deal. After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.
