I had very short notice about my son needing a corsage for homecoming. The lady there was giving my son a lecture about needing more notice and then preceded to say they only had red flowers left. He asked her opinion and she was very short with him. He is a 16 year old kid, come on give him a break! Then I called to see if arrangement was ready and was rudely told 'I told him after 3pm!' The BF and I had a bad argument. 4 days later, I had a message on my phone from Growing Co. that they had left a bouquet of flowers at the front door. Had they not called, I might not have seen them for days since I usually go in and out of my back door/garage. Not only was there a gorgeous, well planned arrangement of flowers to surprise me, but they had taken the time with my BF to write a little novella of an apology note that he dictated to them, punctuation and all. It's too bad this company is full of liars that lack common sense. I called them at 8 or 9 am to advise them to deliver early, not 12. Good work, liars. And a company with a small amount of common sense would figure that it would be best to deliver to a school early on in the day, rather than waiting until late. That is if they're telling the truth. I had my first experience with The Growing Co. I needed some simple arrangements for my boyfriend's daughter's graduation lunch at Larsen's Grill. My mom and I came in from out-of-town to my uncle who is at end of life. We are staying with friends of my uncle and wanted to give them a bouquet of flowers. I walked into The Growing Company Florist and was greeted with a warm welcome just before closing. I ordered the flowers and said I would pick them up the next day around 5:00pm. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to pick up the flowers and called to ask if they could be delivered, again another last minute request. They graciously said they would deliver them. When I got back to the home we were staying at and saw the smiling faces of our hosts and the beautiful bouquet of flowers I was ecstatic. I received a traditional dozen exquisite roses complete in a vase with lots of baby's breath. Because they were ordered from a friend in Tennessee, they could have been in any condition, but honestly, they were as beautiful and lovingly arranged as though he had hand picked each rose himself. A 50-Year High School Reunion is a HUGE deal... My committee and I wanted everything to be PERFECT for our classmates' special night. I worked with Della at The Growing Company regarding our event centerpieces -- which were AMAZING beautiful! Classy and elegant and absolutely PERFECT! The flowers were incredibly fresh and the arrangements were lush & full. Della used smaller, square vases so that classmates could see one another across the table. The clusters of balloons, which came up out of the center of the flowers, were in school colors and staggered in height to fill the room and add to the festive spirit of the event. I kid you not, 45-minutes after the event started I had classmates asking me how I was going to award the centerpieces... They were a hit!! Experienced a tragedy in our family and I had to order flowers for my Mom's funeral. We ordered four arrangements and they were all so beautiful. Each flower was fresh and stunning. The greenery and flowers were "tight" and did not fall out as they were transported from the funeral home, to the church and then to the grave site (it was also 90 degrees outside). We had several flower arrangements sent from family and friends but the ones we purchased from the Growing Company were the BEST. There is no doubt this is the flower shop to use. Ordered an arrangement for Thanksgiving, and it was gorgeous. Exactly what I wanted, simple, elegant. BUT then it started to die in less than 36 hours. The morning after Thanksgiving I called the shop and explained what happened. They could not have been nicer or more understanding. This is a wonderful florist! I live in Dallas, Texas and wanted to send balloons to my grandson in Ventura. I had a specific request for a balloon that they did not have and wanted them delivered at a fairly specific time. The owner went out and found the Thomas the Tank balloon at another store so it would be included in the bouquet and delivered them at the time requested. He was so thrilled! Della and her crew are the best! I have been going to them for almost 15 years for my floral needs. On several occasions The Growing Company staff have gone above and beyond to meet my needs, even last minute ones. Two specific situations come to mind: 1. When my daughter was 4 years old she had a crush on Sportacus, a character on Lazy Town (kids show). More than anything she wanted purple roses from Sportacus for her birthday. Della had no purple roses, but called around and found a competitor who did have them in stock. She provided me with the information as the most important thing to her was making her customers happy even if it meant sending business to another vendor. 2. I recently needed some flowers sent for a memorial service. Unfortunately I found out details of service on Saturday eve and service was scheduled for Sunday. Della answered and stated her drivers had gone home for the day. She stated she would personally deliver the flowers that evening after she closed the store. So in conclusion, I highly recommend this business as they continue to embrace the "old school" philosophy about customer service and doing whatever it takes to satisfy the customer (a rarity these days).
