Is it the best, or the cheapest board game store in the city? No. But, is it a great board game store, with very good prices, that almost anywhere else would be the number one destination? I'd say yes. If you like the hobby, by all means, come on in. They actually received shipment of some new titles before any other stores in the city had them, which is incredible. It means getting them on the table those few days earlier, and in the world of board gaming that can make a pretty big difference. It's a nice place to walk around. And you might even overhear the staff talking about how they can't tell time. And then talking about how silly it is that the others can't tell time. All you have to do is say what number the big hand is at, for the hour, and the small hand for the minutes. And then another staff talking about how that's not right at all. It's cute. It's quirky. Recommended.

When inquiring I got the answer order anyway, and request refund if it doesn't meet standards. No? I'm not risking buying a product that may or may not meet standard. They list product as "played" so that could mean anything. I ended up ordering 4 near mint cards but some of them were light play in my opinion. This is where scans on the site would help the consumer if they don't want to help the consumer when inquiring about a product. Nothing I ordered was over 10 bucks a piece but I probably won't be trusting their near mint conditioning anymore and will choose another site over this one when ordering cards. The letter mail is also slow. Took exactly 2 weeks to get to my door and that's within the same province. Average experience overall. If near mint to you is more than a couple white dots on the card you will be satisfied. If not, choose wisely.

One of the cheapest spots in the city to pick up a board game. The pros are they have a massive collection, a giant library filled with rows and rows of games and collectibles. If I'm in the area, I used to stop by to peruse because I'm that kind of geek. I honestly haven't made them exercise their customer service skills because I research my board games and know exactly what I want. But I can see that newbies could be overwhelmed with all the options coming in. We decided to buy a board game for a friend's child, age 6. My boyfriend ran off to find a game at Meeple without consulting me first. He came out empty-handed, saying there was nothing suitable for that age range. I'm SURPRISED. There's a board game for everything there. I'm not an expert for games for six-year-olds, so I just Googled, found a dad blog and decided Catan Junior was it and purchased online here. They processed our order immediately and were ready for pick up the same day if needed. The truth is my BF was about to check out at Indigo, which is 30% more before I reminded him to check at Meeple again for prices. The only difference *I think* is the packaging art is slightly different and the box is larger at Meeple. If their staff actively asks every customer walking in and tries to help, they can convert more casual or newbie gamers--what a lost opportunity.

And all the cards had protective sleeves over them so it was great for keeping everything fresh as well as cleaning anything between customers. I opted to drop it off myself instead of paying for it to be picked up. They close at seven so it was a little tight for me with when I finish work but I was able to get them back. It was really hard to find. They have a sandwich sign that sometimes gets knocked down in the wind and it wasn't clear inside what way I needed to go to find the place. I love this idea though the fact that you can rent boardgames instead of having to buy them is perfect. You could really step up your game night game

The vikings turn to Antonio and say, "you will not see this again. It is the old ways." That's Red Nails II. The epic sequel to I know not what. If you're looking for a deep dank basement pit filled with comics, and overpriced books on the wall, then this is your place. It's everything you remembered and loved from the 1980s. Right down to the group of regulars and staff that eye you wearily when you walk in. They'll follow you around the store, and no matter how long you pause at something, they will say nothing. Conversations will stop when you enter, only to start up again when you leave. While I have no doubt that becoming an insider wouldn't be all that difficult, it's a question of whether you'd want to. The world of comic books are changing, and this seems a hold back to the days of snooty shop keeps, and childish fans. Now, this could be wrong. I've only gone in four or seven times. But, the atmosphere is not one I've found of acceptance, and people new to comics have not felt comfortable or helped within. And, when there are so many other shops in the city that do make an attempt to welcome and introduce new customers to an art form, there's little reason to stop here. Unless there's something about the old ways you really truly love. Something comforting; like the sacrifice of doomed loved ones, and those closest to them, amongst the heathenish flames, cast upon the rocky seas.

As well there are collectible cards under glass at the counter. The friendly staff look like they are also gamers which adds to the vibe here. I'm sure if you approach them the right way there are deals to be found here. If you are into this, ask about events because there are tables and chairs set up for what appears to be board games.
