This place isn't just a simple dessert shop like others; it is a full-scale restaurant with countless items on the menu. My experience with the food was great, but not with the customer service. One of the host, a very friendly lady, greeted and walked us to the table. When we were ready to order, she was busy talking to other customers at the table. She spent a lot of time talking to them, although we had tried to signal her multiple times. After about 15 to 20 minutes, we got very frustrated, so another host had to come in to help us out. Other than that, everything we ordered was super delicious and nicely decorated. I really love how they named their food on the menu. Very funny in a way. I'll definitely come back to try.
Wonderful crepes, great affogato and loved the vibe here. They were out of my first choice though and kept forgetting to bring us water 1 star off for this. Other than that I loved it. Great place
The service was excellent. We were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess. Our server was also kind and attentive. The Mangolorian Belgian waffle was high quality, delicious and plated very nicely. The strawberries and bananas tasted fresh and the mango sorbet hit just the right spot. The only thing that could be improved is if the waffle was crispy.
Wow! This is one crazy desert place! My nutty family ordered several different kinds of desserts, and quite honestly I was overwhelmed. Everything was fantastic and huge. My favorite was the red velvet cake, which was just perfect and not too sweet. You can order any kind of waffle, pancake, sundae; pretty much any sweet treat you can imagine. Desserts have fudge, chocolate, caramel, ice cream, strawberries, and berries, fresh cream... It goes on and on. They now have an entire Dubai chocolate menu, which basically means pistachio, chocolate, and kunafa dessert. The place is always packed so be prepared to wait. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table for eight people. The place is very congested, but pretty. The service was fast and the servers are very well trained. You can tailor make your desserts too. This is definitely a treat to visit!
Well, it was finally worth the hype! For the first time I finally had the chance to visit Demetres and I was quite impressed with the hype as they really take desserts to the next level! I am very impressed with the balance of flavours especially with the Sweetcar Named Devour Liège Crepe! I cannot wait for the next visit!

I've come here for years and I love it! If you're craving desserts this is the right place for you. The crapes are absolutely delicious and they have so many dessert options. The restaurant itself is very cute. Ascetically pleasing. The only thing is sometimes is very busy so the waiters are managing a lot but all of them are very kind and welcoming.
Today was a very hot and sunny day, I came here when it just shortly open so it wasn't busy at all. In fact I was the only customer. There were plenty of seatings and the AC was turned on. I was seated immediately and the server was pretty nice and attentive. I ordered the Last Straw Belgian Waffle which consist of vanilla ice cream, strawberry and a strawberry glaze. The waffle was made fresh and kind of melted the ice cream as it was hot. The strawberries were tart and the ice cream balanced it out. Overall I enjoyed this, it was not too sweet and good portion to share between two people.
Demetres is a cute family restaurant uptown Toronto and feels family style! I got ice cream and waffles and the waffles were so crispy and warm- perfectly complementing the cold ice cream. I got creme Brulee banana, which was caramel sweet and a little crunchy from some granola I believe. it's a perfect sharing size! a really big portion. I loved the plating design of the dessert, decorated with icing sugar and the caramel banana- it was almost too cute to eat! I couldn't finish, but it's definitely a cute Date dessert!
Ice cream portion is small now. The ratio to crepe or waffle is not good. Honestly they're really gone downhill. Service is good. Ambiance is nothing special. I'm not going to be returning and I used to come pretty regularly.

I tried the Burj Kunafa and really enjoyed the dessert. The kunafa was fresh and flavorful, with a nice crispy texture on the outside and a soft, rich filling inside. The balance of textures made each bite enjoyable, and the dessert had a delicious, satisfying taste. The presentation was also very appealing. The Burj Kunafa was beautifully prepared and had a golden, appetizing appearance that made it look as good as it tasted. The staff was friendly and helpful when I was choosing my dessert and answered my questions clearly. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and was very happy with the food quality, presentation, and service. read more

Pretty consistent and quick service here! We've been here many times we wanted a nice treat and I found the best deal is to get a pick yourself pick two scoop sundae which comes with two ice creams and three toppings of your choice! Our favourites are the strawberry and chocolate hazelnut ice creams. Our favourite toppings are the brownies, apple streusel, and belgian milk chocolate which hardens. Interior is dark with some music but it is easy to hear your companion. read more

I ordered the Tongue Depressor dessert and was very impressed with both the quality and presentation. The dessert arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail, making it look as good as it tasted. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the combination of flavors and textures worked perfectly together. Every bite was rich, indulgent, and satisfying without being overly sweet. Jessica provided outstanding customer service throughout my visit. She was friendly, attentive, and checked in regularly to ensure everything was enjoyable. I loved the vast options provided on the menu. Even though it was just two people sitting at our table I feel that they have a little bit of everything that will keep people coming back time and time again. We were greeted at the door and then seated quickly. I ordered the last straw on a crepe but substituted the strawberry coulis for Nutella. The food arrived quickly as it was mid-afternoon on a Tuesday and the restaurant wasn't as busy as it usually is. The food looked delicious and tasted just as great. I will definitely be back to order the last straw on a waffle. The customer service was really good. Our waitress came by multiple times to check on us and offer more water. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back for another visit soon. read more

Came here Wednesday night after work with my husband after craving for something sweet the whole day. This is our go to spot, super convenient from my workplace. The ambience was nice and modern, which made me feel relaxed after a long day of work. Dessert option is incredible, the selection includes different types of waffles, french crepes, ice cream, parfaits, cakes, sundaes, milkshakes & drinks. There is so many flavours to choose from. The service was quick, even though it's unexpectedly busy for a weekday. Our waiter was very attentive and fast. Dessert was great, very generous portion. There is also lots of parking located on both sides of the store, regardless of which side you'll be coming from. read more

I am a regular customer. Today I tried the seasonal coconut Belgium waffle and it was good. The customer service is always excellent and the food never disappoints. Nice ambiance, good vibes. Not much else to say, this is a staple dessert place for me and the reason my trainer fired me. read more
Super excited to try the NEW WINTER MENU from Demetres!! I mean who doesn't love Demetres?! They're best known for delicious waffles, crepes, and ultra premium craft ice cream. Pictured: Monumintal served on Belgian Waffle - You can choose either french crepe, liège waffle or belgian waffle. Served with Winter mint ice cream, fudge brownies, oreo cookie pieces, drizzle with french dark chocolate sauce. I really like the soft waffle and the fudge brownies aren't too sweet. Also, the mint ice cream has a lot of chocolate! This is the go to dessert place for my boyfriend and I. We go at least once a month because many occasions call for dessert! ;) It gets busy on Fridays and weekends, but don't be intimidated by the wait. It moves fast and they'll conveniently text you when your table's ready so you can walk/shop around to your heart's content (Orfus road, a discount shopper's paradise, is just around the corner!). The portions are big enough for perfect sharing size between 2 people, and I've shared between 3 before too! Everything's made in house, including their delicious ice cream, and they change up items every season. The cruelest love is falling for a seasonal item and seeing it taken off the menu. See ya dark chocolate gelato, you'll be missed... Might start a petition to bring back the hot apple cider too... Man, that drink was the best during those cold winter nights, that sweet cinnamon and apple cider... Thankfully there's still many more delicious new items that fill the gap in my heart that the previous items left. Each new menu features a local artist that designs the cover art and the art cards given to customers at the end of their meal. They also give you pieces of their milk chocolate and a cute apple-shaped paper clip. I might be collecting these and scrapbooking them. :p Even though it's a franchise, it still feels very local and knows how to please with all these little cute touches. I can't speak for other locations but the service at this one is pretty top notch too. My only regret is I wish I had reviewed this place earlier so that people can see how great it is. once again the sweetcar named devour has lured me in to Demetries. This dessert is the perfect sweet treat. Perfectly cooked Belgian waffle covered in strawberries, smothered in the most mouth watering milk chocolate sauce and topped with a scoop of the most silky chocolate icecream you will ever taste. Very friendly and attentive staff make your visit to this charming restaurant a perfect family outing. If your looking for a lovely place to take a date or the family for a really nice dessert you simply must come here. read more

The food looks really good when brought to the table, it is excellent instagram post material for you to post for sharing. I ordered a crepe with chocolate ice-cream, it tastes super good for the first few bites, but I kind of feel its a bit too sweet for me. Luckily, I am sharing it with my girlfriend and she likes it! Had a great time at Demetres this evening. The interior has such good vibes, and the lighting was cozy. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday night, but the service was prompt and the server was friendly. The dessert came out warm; the waffle was fluffy and the ice cream paired well with the chocolate-y dessert. It was a little too decadent (we didn't finish it), but it was delicious nonetheless. read more

It was my first time at Demetres and I am very pleased with my experience. Fully enjoyed my dessert, I had the pretty in pink and the contract in flavours were divine. The waffle was nice and warm and the ice cream was light and not too sweet. Presentation was nice I kind of expected more. Customer service was decent it got a bit busy during my visit but I wasn't forgotten read more

Wow what a place, amazing ambience and staff. We tried the tongue depressor - waffle. One order would easily fill 2 adults. It had a huge scope of ice cream served on a warm Belgian waffle with chocolate chunks. Would recommend, and will be back for more! I love the crepes at Demetres, they're my go-to whenever I visit! My friends and I shared Pomme Pilot & Moo La La. The Pomme Pilot Crepe features White Chocolate Silk Ice Cream with Oven-Baked Apple Crisp, Cinnamon Streusel and Butter caramel sauce. I enjoyed this crepe, especially the sauce, however, I felt the apples could have been a smidge warmer. Moo La La features Roché Ice Cream, Sliced Bananas, Nutella, and Praliné Croquant. As someone who's obsessed with Nutella, this was the clear winner! The Roché ice cream was amazing; equally chocolatey & nutty, and was paired perfectly with the banana and Nutella. read more

CRAAAVINGS satisfied . Piece Talks $14 4.5/5 I always go to Demetres when I'm feeling a sweet tooth! Pictured is their red velvet cake topped with goooeey belgium white chocolate sauce and a BIG scoop of gourmet white chocolate silk ice cream sooo sweet and delicious! The store interior is large and carefully designed, with excellent customer service and plenty of sweets! . They're available for takeout too! 2.5 STARS Ahhh...this was THE place back in the day. Everyone went to a Café Demetre's on a Friday or Saturday night. This particular location has been totally renovated so it looks pretty nice inside - fancy booths, upscale type of wallpaper, lightening etc. It's also pretty large which is a good thing b/c it's always packed. Luckily we got a booth for our group. The menu is split between ice creams; waffles/crepes; cakes etc. I will say they have very interesting flavor combinations and the names of the desserts are hilarious - Pomme Pilot (I feel like you need to be over 30 to get this one...LOL); Tongue Depressor; Miami Slice....you get the picture. Points for creativity. I don't particularly have a sweet tooth - I just wanted a scoop of ice cream. I choose the Passionfruit Sorbetto. I'm not sure in what universe one scoop looks like 5, but it apparently in Café Demetre's world is does! But I guess since they charge $7 for a scoop you should be happy...? The ice cream itself was nice - tart, which I like. But I can't really justify paying $7 for it. But I did. Would I come back...probably not. It's a nice treat and the service we had was friendly, but gone are the memories (and the prices!) of back in the day :( read more
Caffe Demetre is probably one of my favourite dessert places! It is a bit on a pricier side, but once in a while, it is worth it ;). Pastries are all freshly baked and the combination of desserts is very nice :) I will definitely come back! What we ordered: 1. Waffle with chocolate ice cream and strawberries (Don't remember the name, unfortunately). 2. Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Belgian Chocolate Sauce. Pro-Tip: Share your dessert, you will probably not be able to finish the entire dessert yourself. read more

This place serves high quality dessert and ice cream with a pretty restaurant interior and excellent customer service. You are greeted, checked up on during your meal and well wishes upon leaving. The menu is always updated with seasonal flavours that weren't there last time, like the lemon meringue pie flavour ice cream and French crepe I had. The French crepe was thin yet fluffy and everything else was lemon flavoured, ice cream was creamy but not overly creamy. I'd come back to try new seasonal flavours. read more

I love the chocolate icecream here at Demetres. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone! The price is a little higher so if it's an occasion this place is great! The service was a bit slow today but still great! I will be coming back! read more
