I arrived about 7 minutes early for class and the large gym space had about three people inside. The front desk was empty and there was no real way to know what to do to get checked in. I asked another person what I should do and she told me the instructor would be there any minute . A few more people came in right before class along with the instructor. The direction was to do the warm up. As someone new I expected a little bit of an overview and a warmer welcome. I introduced myself and said this is my first class so I don't know what to expect. The directions weren't much different than "warm up". I asked a few questions so I could understand the format of the class. Once I got this was strictly weight training with a circuit like format decided to just go with the flow. The workout itself was slow in the beginning, there was quite a bit of downtime and talking from other people in the class. While the workout was challenging I felt the directions and modeling were lacking. The gym itself was much like a large auxiliary gym and it appeared to be a shared space that isn't well managed because things were out of place, dusty, and someone else was trying to use the same equipment as the class during the class. Overall I think I got a good workout but there is some room for improvement to the space and operations.

This CrossFit box brings all the best: challenging workouts, small class sizes (limited to 12 people), and a supportive community. To be honest, I was beyond intimidated to start classes here. I postponed it for a year to 'try and get into better shape'. I thought CrossFit was for elite athletes only & I was far from that. I eventually joined. What I found is an amazing community of people who were interested in being the best versions of themselves. I can clear my mind, follow the movements & get a great workout within a short period of time. Every workout is challenge that humbles me & makes me dig deep. Another thing I love is that I'm in & out in 1 hour. That's it. No more 2.5 hours at LifeTime Fitness fighting for a locker, fighting for a spot in class and showering. Each class consists of a warm-up, lifting series (15 min.), and workout (typically 20 minutes or less). It's not a cheap gym, but you get your money's worth. The instruction is personal, form is monitored closely, and everyone here knows your name. You are a part of something. You are held accountable (your friends will ask where the hell you've been if you don't show up on Monday). I'm in the best shape of my life, I look better at 31 years old than I did at 21. This CrossFit box is owned & operated by Jordan Below. He coaches most of the classes & has a couple other certified coaches help out as well.
