Here is an update since my review. I can happily say my hair is growing back. I was able to grow 4 inches of the hair I lost back so far and my goal is to be back to waist length by the end of 2020. After scouring the internet and calling around to find a natural hair salon to tame my hair I finally found this amazing spot. I loved that I was able to make an appointment online and select which services that I wanted as well as see a picture of my stylist, LaStagia. LaStagia was just wonderful! I was a little nervous coming into the salon as I just went off of a Google search and had no idea what I was walking into. LaStagia calmed my nerves by telling me step by step what she was doing and asking me if I felt okay and comfortable. She recommended products and told me more about my hair than most stylist have in years. All of the products that she used smelled wonderful and were natural. My hair felt so light and clean after she was done with the deep conditioning/cleanse. LaStagia finished with a blow out and trim of my hair. And because she did not want me to "leave with my hair all over the place" (direct quote from her) she braided my hair into two big flat twists, she did noy charge me extra for this and was so nice about doing this for me. When LaStagia was done she had another client waiting, but she took the time to recommend some products to me while helping her new client as well. She did it with such ease and grace--it was great to see her awesome customer service skills. In total including a moisturizing product I bought my total was only $66!. If I did not buy the product it would have only been $45! They have an amazing selection of natural hair products, so come ready to stock up. I will definitely be coming back to Naturally Devine the next time I am in town! Let me start by saying I've contemplated this salon for at least two years. Due to a horrible prior salon experience I needed to build my confidence to allow someone to touch my hair. Tasiti is the woman I booked with. Her credentials were solid and I wanted someone with a lot of natural hair knowledge. I got lucky with her, she is spectacular!. Although every woman there has knowledge and experience, I'm sure I would've enjoyed my experience with them as well. But Tasiti took the time to ask my preferences and got to know my hair. I ended up adding more services while there! My protein treatment made me forget my age , I wanted to take selfies and post everywhere online like a kid. My hair after my flat iron feels silky smooth and even my partner was afraid to touch it for fear of messing up the perfection. The products used by this salon are great as well. Design essentials is a personal brand favorite of mine and I know its safe and beneficial to the hair. If you are considering booking an appointment, DO IT. The service was so terrible. The girl who tried to help me was only able to answer questions by looking it up online. I felt like she was too deep in my personal space because she asked me questions about every product I touched. "Have you used that before?" "How?" Wasn't she supposed to be telling ME? There were sale items on a table that said 50-70% off. I found a product I wanted but I didn't see a sale price. I asked for the price. She said something like "I don't know. We just, you know, take something off to make it a reasonable price." Is this a swap meet? When I finally found the product for which I had come, it was in a new package. She kept saying she was pretty sure it was the same. Gee, thanks! What happened to the samples? I asked her what hair services were offered and she said, "Everything." Really??? Does anybody do EVERYTHING? I asked her how much they charged for Keratin treatments. "Keratin treatments?" I discovered yet another hair related topic she knew nothing about so I briefly explained. "We don't do any kind of chemical treatments or put any chemicals in the hair." I was speechless. I thought their thing was being able to educate customers. She absolutely could not. read more

I came in for a Fabulous Flat Iron and as soon as I was in the bowl to be washed I was harped on by Adrienne for pay an additional $25 for a service I did not want or need. I explained to her multiple times that I just wanted a flat iron done as I know what my hair looks like after a run through with a flat iron. She was incredibly rough while washing/detangling my hair giving me a sore scalp. She also burned my scalp multiple times with her rough handling of the flat iron on my scalp. And the worst part is that she charged me extra for a detangling service before even offering it or telling me that she was going to do it. Really bad experience over all and would not recommend this salon to anyone looking for a good black owned permanent salon. read more

I enjoyed the conversation location and the salon was nice and clean however I asked for the shown size and style before I got to the location to meet with my selected stylist who stated that the shown pic was no biggie and she'd be able to deliver. For $190 I was thinking everything was great til seeing how many times she had to retwist several of the twist before and after she dipped them in water. I was even more disappointed when I got home to see how uneven my parts were ALL OVER MY HEAD then to add insult to injury there were still some starting to unravel. I mean it would be a lot easier if I was able to see the stylist work before so I could decide if I could trust her with my time money and head. I was told that I should've gone to the Instagram page to view but what if I didn't have it to do so better yet why should I if it's going to be a "LICENSED PROFESSIONAL" doing the desired style right, RIIIIIGGGHHHTTT. I was referred to the salon however the braids that person had were beautiful which is what I wanted but the services were offered and that's what I wanted but i don't think I'd be able to come back if i have to research almost each and every stylist in order to select my hair style. I mean if you could see it now which is only day 2 I swear you'd understand. If I was one of those people who couldn't do absolutely nothing to my head myself I swear I'd be calling the shop for a refund or redo or maybe even my bank being that I stated I wanted this style up for at least 4-6 wks tops read more

Found this salon on Yelp and we tried them for the first time today. My son is biracial and he has LOT of very thick tightly coiled hair. Nicole hooked him up with some braids for summer camp. She did a GREAT job. She also talked to him about how to take care of his braids to make them last through all the swimming and sweaty activities at camp. The shop is nice. The ladies are friendly and professional, and the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back!! read more

I tried this salon because my regular stylist was booked and I had an engagement that weekend. I checked the reviews online and most were good. I wanted a cut & color on top. I took a picture of the cut and color that I wanted. I am happy with the cut but the color is no where near the color that I requested. When I showed her the picture again and asked about the color on the front of my hair she replied that she could fix it the way I wanted for an additional charge. I will not return. read more

I should've taken The first comment for this establishment more seriously. My beautician was Lisa and although she was friendly, I felt as if I was priced a little too much for what I had done. I spent $65 only to have my ends trimmed and to have six scalp braids. When my hair was being washed, she did not even shampoo the back of my hair. The braids that she did we're good, minus her not braiding the ends enough and I noticed a couple of days later they began to come undone. I won't be returning to this establishment and I recommend that their pricing be more fair. To top it off, she basically asked for a tip at the counter. This salon used to be very good until they changed the stylists. I've been going here for almost two years. I will now have to find another salon. I made an appointment online almost 4 weeks in advance. My appointment was on a Saturday at 9am. I got several reminders from the salon the week leading up to the appointment. I got at the salon at 8:55am and the stylist didn't show up until 10am. The only reason why I did not leave was because I really needed my hair done. Of course the stylist apologized but it was completely unprofessional. When she got there she was talking on her phone half the time she was doing my hair. She also didn't put me under the dryer for a deep condition which has always been a part of the service every other time I've gotten my hair done EVER. I remember when I cancelled my appointment less than 24 hours before, they charged me 25% of the service. What happens to the salon if the stylist shows up an hour late! Absolutely nothing! I just sat in my chair the entire time and didn't say anything because I knew I wasn't coming back. The stylist or salon did nothing to make up for being an hour late except ask me if I wanted to follow her on Instagram. This salon has become so unprofessional. Please bring back the old stylists. read more

Each time I have visited Naturally Divine Beauty my experience has been great! They have a wide selection of products and if I have any questions about products the staff is always very helpful. I recently had an appointment with the stylist in the salon and I was very pleased with the results! I'm natural and wanted to get a protective style for the summer months. The stylist trimmed my ends and did a crochet braid style. I love it and I'm enjoying my carefree style. I just moved to Dallas from NY where finding someone who could do a basic trim was a breeze. However, it took me months to find in Dallas. I finally found a place that had openings on my rare day off. I was surprised that a simple trim was an extra $25 for an already hefty roller set price. I can do my own roller set at home. I came to the salon for the trim primarily. After the roller set was removed, I realized that the stylist had already trimmed my ends. My roller set was not separated. It was just trimmed without straightening my hair to see how it would lay. When I got home I almost cried because the ends we're still frayed as though nothing was trimmed. I never saw a trim like this. My back was to the mirror or else I'd have objected. I can't believe it was an extra $25 for something I could have done at home but would never do because that is not a proper trim. I will obviously never go back. Bit even more so, I'm so disappointed with Dallas hairstylists so far. The first one in another shop stood me up and now this. So I will learn to do my own trims. I'm sorry, Britney. Everyone was very nice and I hate confrontation about a service I'm receiving but I was very disappointed when I got home and really wanted to cry. I saw several reviews of how the staff is very nice but the patron was disappointed with the service. Being nice doesn't cover up a bad service. Let me say that I spent $203 here and I had a decent stylist. But overall, this is NOT a place I would go back to. First, I was in there for about 8 hours, causing me to have to cancel another appointment I had. Then, the manager came in for all of 4 hours (at times leaving the stylists there alone to answer phones and tend to the shop). Finally, my stylist was sweet enough, but she was not proficient in sew-ins and that showed throughout the process. My 19-year-old daughter, home from college for the summer, had an appointment yesterday at 5:30pm with Teriel at this salon. She came home in tears sobbing at 8:30pm. She had gone to have her hair washed and cornrowed in preparation for her to crochet in hair - which she has done for years without any problem whatsoever. Her hair is natural and very thick, about shoulder length. It has never been permed or even hot-ironed. She is in excellent health and has a very healthy scalp.When Teriel was about 1/4 way through cornrowing her hair, she noticed what she called an "abrasion" on her scalp and said it was bleeding. (I have a picture of this "abrasion" which I wish I could post, but don't know how to upload.) My daughter called me and put Teriel on the phone who proceeded to say, "I'm a cosmetologist, but this abrasion on her scalp is bleeding and there must be something wrong with her....I don't know, maybe she has a vitamin deficiency or something because blood should stay inside and if it's outside, that means there's a problem....you should probably take her to a dermatologist for a diagnosis..." They sent me a picture of this "abrasion". This was approximately a tiny 1mm, pinpoint, mildly red macule with NO active bleeding in the part that had been made by Teriel to cornrow. As a medical professional myself, I told her that it was fine and there was nothing to worry about. Teriel took it upon herself to refuse to finish my daughter's hair at 8:30 at night! My daughter, in tears, said "I have to work tomorrow morning, what am I supposed to do??" to which Teriel replied "I don't know." My daughter asked for her money back (at my instruction) and was told, "No, I spent time working on your hair." There was absolutely NO reason for this "cosmetologist" to stop working on my daughter's hair and leave her with 3/4 of her hair not done - especially after THREE HOURS. I'm pretty sure she must have had something to do and just wanted to get out of there. Today, I went to talk to Teriel. I said, "Could you please explain to me what happened last night to my daughter's hair?" Teriel was extremely rude and non-helpful and did not appear to care a whit that my daughter left in tears sobbing and stressed. By the way, my daughter went to a friend's house later that night and the friend's mother finished cornrowing her hair beautifully in 25 minutes. I gave Teriel a chance to make this right - she did NOT. I will tell everyone I know to not go to this place. HORRIBLE customer service and Teriel needs training in customer service AND in learning to recognize scalp conditions. Stay away! read more

Finally!! At last a place that has expertise on natural hair! I booked my appointment online and I was able to select which stylist I wanted and the type of service I desired. I don't normally straighten my hair, but I wanted to for my birthday. LaStagia was my stylist and I must say I was very impressed. She was very knowledgeable about natural hair and took great care of protecting my hair from heat damage. My hair turned out so beautiful. It was silky, shiny and straight! It was so straight that people thought I had permed it again. After i washed my hair, my curls came right back without any heat damage to my hair. I really love this place. The last time I went, the staff was so helpful with helping me find a new deep conditioner. I was very picky about what I wanted, but the staff member (actually, I think it was the owner) kept suggesting different products until I found one I liked. I ended up buying the Ultra-Moisturizing CocoAloe Deep Conditioner with Argan Oil from Koils by Nature. And, while expensive, it was a GREAT recommendation. It made detangling really easy. Generally, I always have a good experience here. I love that I can walk in and talk natural hair and natural hair products all day. read more

I went back when it was a kiosk and to the new store location. They do have a large selection of products, but they are marked up $1-2 vs. online pricing. Which is no problem if I'm looking for one particular thing. But if I'm going to buy multiple items, I can usually find a better deal online. Also, the lady who worked there when I went in was very helpful and attentive. Almost to the point of annoying, but I'm a pretty self sufficient shopper, so that could just be me. Naturally Divine Beauty is a salon and a store in one. I came in here today to find a product I've been wanting for a while now from Qhemet Bioligics. I'm really impressed, they had the whole line in there which is nice because I feel like the Qhemet line is kinda hard to find in stores. I got the Heavy Cream and for $2 cheaper than I've seen it online. I was helped by LaStagia. She was really nice and knew a ton about the products and about hair in general. Lisa has the nastiest attitude I have ever experienced from a stylist! Today I booked for 4pm. I get to the salon at 350pm she greets me and I walk to the back of the salon speaking to the other stylist I know at the salon. 415pm she still has not made her way to my head. She also has a client under the dryer. So I went upfront and told her I was going to reschedule with someone else because it's after 4pm and she has not started on my head. Her response was I will be putting you in our system as a "no show"! Why? Because she had plans and some one else could have the appointment. No ma'am your plans were not that important that you were not prepared for a 4pm appointment at 4pm! Do not book with Lisa very unprofessional! Everyone else is great! read more

I agree with Ashley T. about Lisa. I went to have Goddess Braids done today and they already are unraveling. When she washed my hair, she didn't even wash the back and simply did 3 scrubs and rinse (didn't even scrub the scalp- heck it wasn't really even a scrub). She put conditioner on, combed it through (the ends only) and rinsed it right back out. When she blow dried my hair she didn't even blow dry from the root- again she was treating my hair so lightly it didn't feel like she was confident in what she was doing. Needless to say, I waisted $65. I would think that after the hair was a little damp, a smoothing cream (along with gel) would be applied for just 2 goddess braids, but no, just a smelly activator gel was placed on my edges, while the dry parts of my hair were not secure in the braid. Nice and friendly person, but braids don't seem to be her specialty as marketed. read more

Not a very big selection of products like what I imagine. The few products they have are unique (because I am from San Antonio) but so is the Shea Moisture "Coconut and Hibiscus: Curl Enhancing Smoothie"product I found at Walgreens. I left buying Komaza Care:Coconut Curl Pudding, Komaza Care Califia Styling Pudding and the smoothing lotion. I love the effect the product had on my hair but did not love the service from one of the employees. She was very distance and appear a little agitated. The stylist was nice and had to encourage the employee a bit to help. The employee lighten up a bit, so all is well. Naturally Devine gets three stars instead of the two it deserves because I think the stylist was doing her best and she deserves grace for that. Plus I would go back because it is privately own and the unique products. Are products unique to that store? If not I would go somewhere else because convenience. read more

Andrea, the salon's manager, spent considerable time going over hairstyle suggestions. I thought I wanted locs, but she patiently explained the loc process and maintenance requirements. She helped me realize that I had an unrealistic vision of how my starter locs would look. After consideration, I decided on a two strand twist. I was confident in my decision due in large part to Andrea's own natural hair style. She answered every question, and at each step of the process, she discussed my hair type and porosity, and suggested product. Upon leaving the shop, I was HAPPY. I not only had a cute style that was relatively easy to maintain, I also left with much needed knowledge about my hair, variations I try at home, maintenance instructions and appropriate product.
