She is an expert in the color and treatment of broken and damaged hair. When I first went to her, I had balding and broken, damaged hair. She restored my hair to full and healthy and then BOOM she whipped into gorgeous. She is adorned by her clients and will go beyond to ensure you are happy. Though my results were great my hair was ruined. This was my first time getting my hair done in Texas and for my birthday. My silk press took about 5 hours and the results were amazing. I never had such a flat press. Unfortunately that was the downfall. I get my hair straightened once a year and this has never happened. I'm going from but length to probably having to cut it off. I've tried many things but nothing has brought back my curls. I thought I could save them.I'm only posting this to help, please be safe with your curls ladies! I do not recommend Keisha for a trim . The first picture is my hair before the "trim" the second picture is my hair afterwards. She is good at doing color and doing silk presses, but do not go to her for a trim. I'm sad because i had been going to Keisha for years. Lakeshia does a wonderful job with , weaves, clips ins, micro links, color , press and perms and cuts . She is very knowledgeable in this area. If you go to a salon and your out in 40min, that is not the salon you want to go to. Doing hair takes time and if you want it done right you may have to wait a bit, that's just how it goes. I enjoyed speaking with my stylist. My only drawback was the trim. My hair doesn't get cut often so I haven't had a haircut in almost a 18 months. My hair has not be straightened in a long time. I loved how she straightened my hair and was apprehensive when the hot comb was pulled out as I don't want heat damage but she promised I'd be ok. My hair is still straight enough right now so I hope for the best. The issue was the trim did not get all my split ends and single strand knots. I paid the extra $15 and tipped but I couldn't comb my hair when I got home without the snagging. I'm going to give her another try and hope to get the dead ends off. Very nice lady but I should have been more insistent about the the ends being the main reason for the flat iron. read more

It's unfortunate I feel compelled to write a bad review. I had an appointment with Keisha. When I walked in she acknowledged my presence with a head nod. That was the only interaction we had. I decided to walk out after sitting for an hour. She never bothered to come over and apologize or acknowledge that she was clearly running late. This would have been my second visit to her. During the first visit I thought she seemed rather pleasant and I was satisfied. My time is valuable too, and a little customer service would have been appreciated. I tried out this salon based on the 2 reviews from the site (now that I think about it, that was probably quite a big risk to take). I was in need of a new hair stylist. The previous one had been good once-upon-a-time, but he seemed to be becoming lazy and inattentive, and my hair was definitely suffering for it. In case you haven't noticed, there are an insurmountable number of hair salons and stylists all over our great city. I felt like I would be taking stabs in the dark just showing up at random salons to just "test" them out. So, I turned to the good ol' internet to try to find salons that had some ratings and/or reviews so I could help narrow down which one(s) I should try. Well, I ran into another problem: few to none black hair salons or salons that serviced black hair had any reviews about them! I thought I would be stuck with my old stylist forever! But, I found this 2 reviews and thought I would try out the salon (and under recommendation of the reviews, try Kesia). I called and made an appointment for a wash and style, and Kesia was able to get me in the very day I called. I made the 25 minute trek from the Southwest side to her shop. I walked in with my hair looking just... to' up... It was shedding and breaking... It was thin. And after just 3 weeks, it already looked like I needed a relaxer! I left with the softest, shiny hair that just blew in the wind! I could not believe it! Even though my hair was looking so crazy when I came in, she somehow (magically, I presume) made it look absolutely gorgeous - it looked like I had just gotten a relaxer! And to top it all off, she was so nice and sweet and polite! She engaged me a genuine conversation, for she seemed so interested in getting to know me and sharing things about herself. This place was a nice drink of cold water on deserted desert plain. The folks are courteous, mindful and really really good at their trade. I hesitated outside the door because I thought "Hummmm, this is a facility that appears to cater to the African American pool of people" BUT the SPIRIT reminded me of the yelp reviews and so I stayed. It's a good place just go. And they give great haircuts. And my family works there. It's an amazing nice place to go and relax.

Initially I was reluctant to write a review for a couple of reasons. The service was really great and Mrs. Niecy was so kind I thought it must be a fluke, not to mention my hair looked so good that my friends and family kept repeating that it was the best they had seen my hair in a very long time(which actually stung a little, but I digress). The second reason is because I love it there and I don't want the shop to be bombarded with customers, but at church they preached about helping one another so this is my assist. The atmosphere is great, the salon is very clean and did I mention my hair looked great every time. Mrs. Neicy put that sew-in on my head and people were coming up to me in Target telling me how good it looked. My hair looked so good I started acting funny with people because my family wasn't lying when they said it was the best my hair had looked in a long time.(Sidenote, we are taking a family trip and my husband keeps asking if I'm going to salon to get my hair together before the trip. Of course I am, but he still got the side eye). I used to go to hair resort because it was the closest thing around my area. I used to love the shop i found LaKesha to be very unprofessional and rude. I wasn't used to getting my hair done on regualr bases and one night I actually stayed at the shop until 8, and she asked me what kind of hair style i want and i wasn't sure since my hair was short at the time. She got impatient and said "well i got 50 million people in here make up your mind". I went back a couple of times and went to a different beautian thinking it would make feel more comfortable, the tension was there. Everytime I would go back in the salon I was ignored and not greeted and i felt like everyone was against me.I guess thinking running me off would her fell better but really she just lost a a paying client. That's ok because I go to a hair salon that will ne gladly to take my money and im treated with better care!! Ps.
