I have been coming to see Flor since she was at the old location. A friend recommended her and I am very grateful. She is amazing with hair and will take great care of your hair. I like to wear my hair curly, but when I need a blow out or a haircut, she's my go to. The salon is very nicely decorated and always spotless. Prices are parallel to the level of service, you will get amazing treatment for your hair with quality products. I definitely recommend! I'm absolutely a fan. P.s. I am disappointed at Flor.. Wow! She squeezed me in to get a blowout. Everything seemed good, I ask for a "deep condition", sit under the dryer (with water running down my face and full shirt, I was soaked). I then I get to the chair. She starts to blow dry with no heat protectant. I say, Flor did you use heat protectant, She says yes. I don't question her bec I trust she wouldn't lie. My hair is healthy and long, but she MADE me "trim" my hair. I told her no , but she still grabbed her scissors and still cut it. I had just trimmed it a week before, so I didn't need a trim. Weeks later, im home and wash my hair. Immediately when the water hits it I smell a strong chemical on my hair, and my curls are super loose. As I go through and apply my styler to do a wash and go, the front of my hair is bone straight aswell as other sections of my hair. This is crasy. I still smell whatever chemical she put on my hair after styling it.. Did Flor use some type of chemical that they use for Brazilian blowouts on my hair to keep it straight longer? Why did she lie about using heat protectant?? I've done nothing to her but trust her w my hair. Never again. What is shocking is that she has 89.3 ksbj or Christian Pandora playing in her salon, but honestly her spirit is not genuinely friendly. Some dominican women hold a type of racism, low tolerance, hate toward black women for some reason and I often felt that w her. I should have stopped going There when I felt that. She is certainly capable of doing a great job as I stated in my 1st 5 star review that I left her over a yr ago. But this hate /envy / whatever it is has to stop in the Name of Jesus! read more

I waited until 3 days post my appointment to post this review for true results and I'm blown away! Not only was this salon immediately responsive but I was able to be squeezed in for an appointment the same day! I arrived on time and was able to be immediately sat in the chair. My hair is thick, long and curly and yet it was completely roller set in about 7 minutes. I was skeptical about the time I would have to sit under a dryer but within 40 minutes, I was back in the chair for minimal blow drying at the root and final touch up with a steam iron (which left my hair super straight and shiny). The whole process from start to finish only took an hour! After 3 days in these Houston high temps and humidity - I still have zero frizz! I'm officially a regular customer! read more

Flor has magic hands . She did a deep conditioning, rollers, blow dry and flat iron- my hair was so shiny, I could have been in a Pantene comercial. My sistas, if you are wonder if there was any heat damage, the answer your is NO! So copy her number, dial it on her phone, and make an May 2020 update: If I didn't mention Flor was the best, well let me tell you FLOR IS THE BEST. Period. During quarantine, I used a conditioner on my hair that I had a bad reaction to and a huge chunk of my hair fell out. I cried , laughed and when the salons opened I texted flor. Like the tia she is to me, she scolded me for not calling her sooner. She blessed my hair, and I came out with fresh trim and layered look to offset the chunk of hair that fell out. I was in town from NYC visiting friends. It's Jan 15, 2022, a Saturday, about 12pm... Yelp and Google said they were open. I called several times and left voicemail. I even texted the #, just in case. We drove by just to check it out, the sign said closed. Then we got, text back saying they were too busy. Came in for a blowout at the last minute due to a cancellation with another stylist. Flor squeezed me in. Very impressed with her work ethic. I added a deep condition and trim for a total of $80. I was in and out in less than 2.5 hours. The salon was not crowded so it felt safer especially during the pandemic. I distinctly remember the smell of the shampoo and conditioner being divine. From NY to this perfect salon! Flor handles with care & gives you exactly what you want! Trimmed, washed, deep conditioner & set! Even with thick long hair I didn't need to have my hair burned forever under a dryer! My hair has never felt silkier. Received many compliments on how healthy it looked. I'm so happy I found Flor. I went to a couple of Dominican hair stylist here in Houston and the last lady I went to before finding Flor, burnt the Sh*t out of my scalp. Flor works alone and is real good at keeping her schedule. Her salon is large with lots of space and very clean. I've been going to Flor since I moved here to Houston and she has magic hands! She does a traditional Dominican wash, roller set and blow out but she does color, extensions, cuts and keratin treatments too! One day I had gone to a different salon for color because I didn't know she worked with color and it came out red and green from under bleached and over toned highlights! She took her time and corrected the mess the other salon made and she gave me the color and style that I had always wanted ! She is very considerate price wise and always nice. In the pic she gave me some of her own grapes to eat because I didn't bring food You have nothing to lose going to her she will restore your hair! read more

I am absolutely speechless! The amount of care that Flor puts not just physically into your hair but the knowledge that she provides is unmatched. I have been getting my hair done by Dominican hair stylists since the age of 9 and never have I been as satisfied as I was today! My favorite part is "by appointment only" which means I don't ever have to wait. Or was it the fact that she had me in and out of there in under two hours for an entire keratin treatment? Or the way that she brought my hair back to full life?! I truly cannot decide! Definitely my new go to place and I am so overjoyed! Best experience. I'm a travel nurse and have been too many places for my hair and she is by far the fastest most professional person I have been to. I was hesitating booking because in New york I had a Dominican salon damage my hair with the excessive heat but she did not. She also recommended a product she carries in salon for my dry hair. She's AMAZING ! I'm so late on this review. I went to her in June. I went to Flor because I needed my hair straightened and my friend recommended I go to a Dominican salon. I looked through several Dominican salons in Houston but she had the best reviews and I'm glad I chose her. Flor was super friendly and she did a great job on my hair and fixing the terrible cut i had tried giving myself. My hair didn't last long so i don't have pictures because i went to the Pride parade as soon as i left her without wrapping my hair and it was sprinkling outside but i will definitely be back when the humidity goes down. Much more affordable than your typical "silk press stylist" too read more

Flo is totally amazing!! I love her sweet and kind spirit. From the moment she touched my hair I felt as if she really cared about each strand of my hair. She uses top of the line equipment and products ~ you can tell her main concern is healthy and beautiful hair. I 100% recommend Flo! Finding Flor was the best thing I've done since moving to Houston. She is a miracle worker for black hair. Not only is she very knowledgeable about hair, which is evident from her own luxurious hair, but she goes out of her way to make sure your hair is healthy as well. I trust her so much that I've decided to transition away from relaxers and go the Keratin treatment route. Also, Flor is very sweet and kind. She is punctual, and you're never waiting a long time to be seen. Definitely give her a try. You won't regret it! read more

I'm so happy I found Flo!! I'm from Los Angeles so I'm used to a certain type of flatiron-- one that flows and shines and feels soft. I finally found where to achieve this look in Houston!! And one top of her healthy, pretty hair care, flo's personality is so sweet. I don't speak great Spanish and she doesn't speak perfect English but we both try lol. She has a warm and gentle spirit about her, very calm and accommodating. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes for her to start or resume my hair and she keeps her shop clean. Hands down the most efficient, professional, and amazing hair experience I've had. Flor's hands are blessed by God! I've gone to her twice and will be going today for my Keratin treatment (which everyone raves about from her). I have naturally curly hair and with Houston's humidity it becomes hard to maintain- especially straight. After My first visit (shampoo, blow dry and straighten) I was able to maintain my pressed her for 2wks with proper care! You will not be disappointed with your service! This was my first time making an appointment with Flor and I absolutely LOVE her! She has a sweet spirit and is very welcoming. The atmosphere of her shop is peaceful and calming; no loud club music, no solicitors coming in and out, and no foolishness. I didn't have to wait a long time for her to start on my hair. She even completed my Dominican Blow Out in almost an hour (which is quick because I have really long hair)! But, she was not rushing at all. Flor is extremely professional, courteous, and she's a true expertise when it comes to styling curly and wavy hair! I would most certainly recommend her to anyone! I will be her customer for life! My Dominican stylist disappeared after Harvey. I have been lost every since. I visited Flor earlier this month and now i am found. been so busy I am just getting the chance to write about how much i liked the work Flor did on my hair. I got a trim, deep condition, blow dry and flat iron. It took about 1.5 hours. I showed my father the pictures, he asked whether it was a wig, then asked if was all my hair because he couldn't believe how nice it looked. After the massage, I utilized the steam shower and while I'm normally not a steam person depending on my hair (I had braids today), it was a great way to round out the relaxation experience! I also went in for what should've been a simple trim, and way more length came off than I asked for (and I've spent years trying to grow out my hair). At the end of the day, I paid a lot of money and went through multiple appointments, and I still didn't get the color or the cut I asked for. Really disappointing for the price.

Best Dominican Salon in town.. I've been going with Flor for over a year. The first time i went with her my hair was super dry, i had 7 layers and 3-4 colors... in the first visit she was able to remove all the colors i had and also dyed my hair a natural color and took out 3 layers with out cutting to much hair... and within 6 month my hair was completely healed. No split ends at all, healthy curls, and my hair hasn't stop growing ever since... honestly this women's hands are blessed by God!!! Thank you Flor for all the work you done.
