I am disappointed at Flor.. Wow! She squeezed me in to get a blowout. Everything seemed good, I ask for a "deep condition", sit under the dryer (with water running down my face and full shirt, I was soaked). I then I get to the chair. She starts to blow dry with no heat protectant. I say, Flor did you use heat protectant, She says yes. I don't question her bec I trust she wouldn't lie. My hair is healthy and long, but she MADE me "trim" my hair. I told her no , but she still grabbed her scissors and still cut it. I had just trimmed it a week before, so I didn't need a trim. Weeks later, im home and wash my hair. Immediately when the water hits it I smell a strong chemical on my hair, and my curls are super loose. As I go through and apply my styler to do a wash and go, the front of my hair is bone straight aswell as other sections of my hair. This is crasy. I still smell whatever chemical she put on my hair after styling it.. Did Flor use some type of chemical that they use for Brazilian blowouts on my hair to keep it straight longer? Why did she lie about using heat protectant?? I've done nothing to her but trust her w my hair. Never again. What is shocking is that she has 89.3 ksbj or Christian Pandora playing in her salon, but honestly her spirit is not genuinely friendly. Some dominican women hold a type of racism, low tolerance, hate toward black women for some reason and I often felt that w her. I should have stopped going There when I felt that. I waited until 3 days post my appointment to post this review for true results and I'm blown away! Not only was this salon immediately responsive but I was able to be squeezed in for an appointment the same day! I arrived on time and was able to be immediately sat in the chair. My hair is thick, long and curly and yet it was completely roller set in about 7 minutes. I was skeptical about the time I would have to sit under a dryer but within 40 minutes, I was back in the chair for minimal blow drying at the root and final touch up with a steam iron (which left my hair super straight and shiny). The whole process from start to finish only took an hour! After 3 days in these Houston high temps and humidity - I still have zero frizz! I'm officially a regular customer! read more

She does a traditional Dominican wash, roller set and blow out but she does color, extensions, cuts and keratin treatments too! I looked through several Dominican salons in Houston but she had the best reviews and I'm glad I chose her. Flor was super friendly and she did a great job on my hair and fixing the terrible cut i had tried giving myself. My hair didn't last long so i don't have pictures because i went to the Pride parade as soon as i left her without wrapping my hair and it was sprinkling outside but i will definitely be back when the humidity goes down.
