I learned about PuraLux, a natural alternative, online and saw that Plume did the service. The owner and my stylist, Erin worked with her schedule to get me in since I was going to be away on vacation. The salon is absolutely beautiful and evokes a bohemian, accessible, sexy and friendly vibe. It is clear that not only is Erin a master of her craft, but someone who really values bringing out the natural beauty and her clients. A lot of salons will gate keep so to speak when it comes to how to upkeep ones hair blow dry you name it, but not plume - they even run WORKSHOPS for clients. My hair feels great. I loved hanging out with Erin for the morning. I am so excited to be her new client.

However, my last visit with new stylist Belle left me with complete shock and disappointment. We clearly did not have same idea of color, but I also ended up with a refresh butterfly cut with terribly uneven layers all around my hair, and hair around my face chopped back to my ears because she wanted to remove weight. It was also extremely texturized leaving holes through out my hair. I for sure had damage but walked out with even more somehow, and didn't even realize how bad because she didn't do the included styling at the end (realized at home this cut was impossible to style!). They offered a corrective service which I appreciated after spending $400, and knowing it's a small business. Salon owner was nice but ultimately the color was still off (explicitly asked for a shadow root but just had lots of chaotic bleach), and cut hair was already cut and too far gone to blend apparently. Senior stylist who was correcting also continuously yanked my hair in the bowl, saying she had to in order to get the toner on everything. Super painful and I don't even have a sensitive head. Didn't realize how bad and uneven it still was all around until getting another corrective service at another salon recently. Such an uncomfortable experience overall and definitely not the salon for me. Hope others have a better experience or go to Wheelhouse ATX who has been nothing but kind, professional, and very skilled at handling a very messy correction

They take pride in creating a community and you can see how embracing they are for everyone to come and get their hair done here. Not only is this a safe space and open to all for the queer community and beyond, but they offer hair, makeup, spa, and treatment services. I was able to make a same day appointment and was guided on how they have a few different tiers of stylists and after going over my needs, the receptionist guided me to book with Samaia. We all know how annoying parking can get, so I was stoked when they informed me about the complimentary parking within the same building for retail. It's the first three floors so make sure it's marked for retail (we hate getting towed in this house). As I walked in, I was promptly greeted and asked what I would like to drink. Now in all my years of getting my haircuts, I have never been offered SNACKS upon check-in. What a simple yet amazing way to elevate your salon. They had alcoholic and non-alcoholic options and you're encouraged to access the snacks and fridge if you desire something else. My barber/stylist Samaia met me in the lobby after I waited for a few minutes and ushered me into the back. Don't let your initial opinion fool you because there are like 10+ chairs and a dedicated hair washing room (with charging stations) there. I was informed my cut included a wash, style, and cleanup which was much appreciated. I showed her a few examples of hairstyles that stood out to me and she gaved me her open and honest expert opinion which was so nice. I loved she didn't just say yes we can do that and then hit my hair. We took a few minutes discussing options and we decided on a cut that would give me the effect I desired yet room for growth. Samaia's skillset transformed my hair and gave me the Cinderella effect of transforming me from a pumpkin to a beautiful glass carriage. She took her time and carefully used scissors and plenty of different tools for my hair. Many of which where the first I've seen even with my multiple visits to salons and barbershops in my lifetime. What stood out to me though was her approach to educate and demonstrate how to utilize tools when at home. It felt achievable and I even ended up purchasing a diffuser tool for my blowdryer. My hair feels and looks like a celebrity cut and I am so thankful that Samaia was able to give me the haircut I've been wanting to have for the longest time. I'll definitely be back!!

When I initially booked the appointment I searched for someone with experience cutting thick, curly hair and am thrilled that Whitney came up as a possible stylist. Whitney gave my daughters the cutest cuts they have ever had, and that's with years of trying to get this type of cut from various stylists! (Those of you with curly hair know how hard it is to find someone who knows how to cut this type of hair.) Whitney was on time, professional, and so easy-going and friendly. We are very careful about COVID here at our house and Whitney was too. This is the second time we've used SpaDash during the pandemic and it the app itself has been easy to use - no problems at all. I've taken my daughter to Sc4kids a few times a year since 2020. My daughter has been getting the…read moresame exact style since 2020. However, the time before last (March of 2024) I took my daughter in and she was given a completely different style. My daughter was not a fan of this style. I asked my daughter why she didn't speak up when she was in the chair and she said she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings as they had already spent hours on her hair so I assured her next time we went I would say something so she wouldn't get that same style. 03/21/2025 we show up to our appointment. I speak with the owner, Sonja. I show her pictures of what my daughter normally gets and is happy with and what she got the last time and how she did not like it. I was assured that she would get what she normally gets. The way that this salon runs is you leave your children and come back when they are finished-which again, never had an issue so I left. To my surprise, when I came back my daughter had half of her head done like how she normally gets it and the other half of her head was how it was done the same it was previously which she did not like. Sonja immediately says, "She wanted something different! She's growing up." I was a little confused in the moment because it wasn't what we asked for but it looked good regardless so I was happy...this was a mistake my daughter did not let me take pictures of her all evening and I knew it wasn't going to "grow on her" like I initially though 03/26/25 I reached back out to the salon. After all, I had family portraits paid for and booked that I was rescheduling due to my daughter being so unhappy with her hair I felt like I needed to vouch for her. I will attach screenshots below because that's where things got out of hand. I expressed knowing we should of said something before leaving but I was hoping my daughter would come around and since she is not she is old enough that I feel as I must advocate for her being we showed a picture of what we wanted and left the salon completely disappointed. I got a response within 2 hours that they'd be happy to fix the error or I believe a credit towards our next service. Well since I messaged them at work, I told them I would talk to my daughter and get back with them. 03/31/25 my daughter and I decided to get it redone. I reached out to notify them. No response. 04/2/25 I reached out again, no response. 04/03/25 I decided to call the salon and I spoke with Sonja. Sonja was quick to defend her stylist by saying "I've never had a complaint on her she's one of my best braiders." Again, I was not calling to complain, just to see if we can resolve the error. Sonia stated that my daughter asked for the style she currently had and was trying to put more blame on my 10 year old than acknowledging the fact that I showed her an image before leaving and it wasn't what was resulted. She even went so far to say that my 10 year old may have been feeling jealous of my new baby was in the salon for the first time and the stylist had more attention on the baby....UH NO. None of this had to do with my child's feelings toward her but I sat and listened as she talked down on my child and made it seem like it was her fault. Sonia stated her mom was sick and that's why she didn't call me back. I get it, life happens. She did offer to bring her back in to make it right. My daughter wants simple box braids not the cornrows she was given. (Well this particular visit her heard is half box braids, half cornrows....you read that right-I'll attach a picture as well) I sent a follow up message with the dates I was available, my phone number etc. I went home and spoke to my daughter and let her know I was told that she ASKED for this hairstyle..my daughter quickly said that wasn't true and when she sat down in the chair the lady asked her what she wanted and my daughter did her best to describe it but again she is 10 and can not describe what exactly she is wanting that was the point of the picture but I guess that did not get conveyed to the stylist. This lines up because as I was leaving I heard other stylist asking other children in their salon what style they wanted.. 04/09/2025- I have not heard back from Sonja. I'm getting frustrated with the lack of communication. I call. No answer, no voicemail. I'll let the screenshot explain themselves. Please avoid this place as she is clearly overwhelmed and can't handle her schedule at the time. Unfortunately this salon isn't what it used to be.
