The salon is thoughtfully decorated and was giving boho vibes. Upon check-in, they asked if I parked in the garage since they have a parking validation QR code, and if I wanted anything to drink. I was surprised they offered wine, and the white wine I got was the perfect level of sweetness for me. After being seated, Abby came over and started our consultation, asking me what I had in mind and gave me recommendations on my bangs. I have thin, flat hair, so we went with a long layered hairstyle with curtain bangs. Afterwards, she walked me to the back to the shampoo area. Like everyone else, I loved the shampoo area--it's dark green and moody with chill music and fake plants hanging from the ceiling, so you feel like you're laying in nature. It's super tranquil, especially when the scalp massage starts. I liked the Davines products they used; my scalp had a light tingling sensation and felt really clean, and the all-in-one milk made my hair smell so good. We walked back to the chair and she confirmed the length before she started cutting away. She took her time, making sure both sides were even. When she was close to finishing, she asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I went with the blowout since it was quicker and it looked like the reference pictures I showed her. Abby knows how to work a round brush with the Dyson blow dryer and really accentuated all the layers she gave me. It was pouring when I was done with my haircut, so they were nice enough to let me out through the back door that leads to the garage where my husband picked me up. I had two consultations before my appointment and clearly explained that I wanted to keep my brown hair while adding two money pieces and subtle highlights. I even brought photos to show the exact color I was hoping for, and I was reassured that this look was achievable. However, I left the salon with brassy orange hair and an uneven haircut, which was the complete opposite of what I requested. I had spent a long time growing my hair, so having it cut unevenly and over-processed was incredibly frustrating. The service itself was also uncomfortable. During the bleaching process, the application felt very rough and my hair was pulled quite aggressively at the bowl, which was painful and concerning. After the blow dry, I was told I should come back in six weeks to fix the color, which was surprising considering the color was clearly not what had been discussed. It also felt strange to be asked to pay before the blow dry was finished, especially when the damage was already apparent. To their credit, when I returned, the senior educator and her assistant were much kinder and did try to correct the situation. I appreciate their effort, but unfortunately the final result still wasn't close to what I had originally asked for. I have had my hair lightened and colored at other salons before and have never experienced this level of discomfort or damage. Sadly, my hair now feels very compromised and the color is still not what I wanted. Because of this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this salon. Olivia was INTERVIEWING at a new salon and had me go to the new salon. Vain.... First of all you can look by the photos on instagram Olivia did not know how to cut a mullet she had no photos until she met me. #1- she didn't like the style I chose as a client which was definitely really layer more like a mullet and I TAUGHT HER WHERE to cut my hair. #2- She refuses to flat iron my hair because she thinks it's bad for my hair even after I requested it the entire cut- and my hair was crooked due to the fact it's wavy. So at Tony and guy she fixed the crooked but at Vain? No way she definitely did not create a good look my hair was crooked on one side. So I called the manager to get the hair fixed on one side. For some reason maybe I was too honest and nice? Not sure!! But they did not want to fix my hair. Here's how the facts go for Olivia 1- she lied to vain to get the job claiming I'm a client that's following her around even though I just met her 2- during my cut at vain Olivia said thank GOD you are helping me get my job here in this interview 3- refusal to flat iron my hair so we can make sure it's even on both sides. She had no clue how to dry bangs that were curly like mine. I watched her struggle and not listen and my bangs were crooked. 5- look at her profile from before Vain well then I requested my mullet cut showing her exactly how to cut my hair FYI LOOK at my hair right now- I have cut it myself ever since Olivia. Sorry but I'm an extremely amazing artist and I can cut hair it's an art but it's not brain surgery it's actually extremely easy to cut hair. It's not hard and I cut my hair better than Olivia ever has and that's a FACT. 6- By the way- this entire time I have been TEXAS STYLE NICE and quiet just letting Olivia LIE to Vain acting like I'm a client that knew her but really she just told me she moved from Miami and needed a job. I don't know her - she did bad with my hair in 3 areas but whatever. 7- Uneven hair- so mostly my layers on both sides of the face were completely different. I'm pretty sure Tony and Guy(a better salon) would DISAPPROVE of what she did to my hair. But when I told Vain Salon I was uncomfortable with my haircut and by how uncomfortable with Olivia?
