I really wanted to like this place but the moment you walk into the bar, not the restaurant at the front door. You're confronted by very loud voices. It's almost deafening. Once into the restaurant it doesn't get a lot better. It's still very loud. I really don't understand the decor with picture frames on the wall without anything in them. The other parts of the decor are really poorly done nautical pieces inside of frames. It doesn't make a lot of sense it is a steakhouse after all my steak was undercooked and sent back to the kitchen to be redone. It didn't have much flavor and it was quite grizzly. The lobster bisque was lukewarm not cold or hot so it's like they didn't know which one to go with the carrot cake was topped with pecans, but be careful with this one because there are pecan shells in there that I almost broke a tooth on not a good experience as you can imagine so I probably won't be back read more

The ambiance was beautiful--perfectly blending Southern class with a modern touch. It was a little cold inside, but nothing a jacket can't fix. The bathroom décor was also really cute. The service was just okay. Our entrées took a long time to come out, and when the steak finally arrived, it was overcooked. After sending it back, the wait for the remake was also long, and there wasn't much acknowledgment of the inconvenience. The food was hit or miss. The steak eggrolls and grilled Caesar were amazing, but by the time the corrected steak came out, our mac and cheese and toppings were cold. We wanted to try this with my husband's two siblings and their spouses. They don't clearly advertise they open at 4 pm for happy hour. We got there before 5, the signs at the front door advise opening hours of 5 pm. We walked in because the door was ajar, and the hostess and bartender both warmly greeted and welcomed us in. We loved the bar and the drink service we received. The six of us were seated in the dining room. We had reservations for 5:15 pm. The server advised that we needed to put our dinner order in at the same time as our appetizer orders. When questioned why, she advised that is their policy. Felt like we were on a cruise ship. My husband and I both had their filets. They were perfectly cooked, however, the heavy salt content was overwhelming. When we commented to our guests, they advised the sous- chef came from Pardo's. Which made perfect sense to us because we went one time to Pardo's and never returned due to the heavy salt content on their dishes, which we did advise the waiter. When a gentleman at Hampshire asked how we liked our meal, we did speak up and advise about the way too heavy over salting. He said he would talk to the chef. We really enjoyed this place! To start, we both got a cocktail, and they brought out complimentary cornbread with a lemon butter. It was great and a nice southern touch! I will say we did wait about 20 minutes until the manager came to our table to ask for our drink order. However, they were pretty busy that night and had only been open for a month. For an appetizer, we got the steak egg rolls which were fantastic!! The sauce on it paired well and the steak had great flavor. I got the lemon-caper chicken which was really good and the broccolini was cooked great. The lobster pasta was okay. We think it was a little bland and needed more seasoning. To end the night, we got the snickerdoodle crème brûlée! It had a slight touch of cinnamon and 2 snickerdoodle cookies on the side. Wow!! The restaurant was pretty big, and they had a couple of private rooms which were nice. They had a pretty decent size bar as well as what looks like an oyster bar. We can't wait to try once oyster season hits! Overall, we enjoyed our food. We have been here 3 times- loved the first time but were not as impressed the 2nd time. We thought we'd hit it for the summer fixed price menu this month. we ate lobster bisque (tasty but not hot-actually it had developed a skin on top so...), steak n crab and they didn't have the key lime icebox pie - they said it would be ready in a half hour so they subbed a chocolate cheesecake -good but too heavy. however, they should have told us this before we ordered. there were only 3 parties dining, 3 wait staff and an army in the kitchen so why were the mashed potatoes, asparagus, crab cake and soup cold? the only thing at good temp was the steak. steak was the star-perfectly cooked. this place could be great but needs better quality control on what is delivered to the table. sorry I left a 24$ tip to the waitress that spent most of her time helping take pics of food and relied upon her colleagues to deliver our food. read more

Sorry to say my Saturday night meal was terrible. I heard so much about The Hampshire and invited 2 other couples. A crabcake app on menu for 1 crabcake for $35. FOR AN APPETIZER! Did not like their cornbread. Couldn't put my finger on the seasoning used but thought it was like an old bay seasoning. I ordered crab and avacado appetizer and realized it was imitation crabmeat. The waitress said she mentioned in the description some other name but I guess I missed that description as well as another lady. Can't believe a nice restaurant would even serve imitation. They did take it back. The rest of the meals for the 6 of us was disappointing as well and pricey. Had duck that was dry, husband had redfish overcooked and other couples were not happy. Just tried The Hampshire on Saturday. Loved it!! Started with a nice glass of prosecco at the bar. Moved into the dining room with friends and ordered the mussels which were to die for! Then the lump crab cake which was ALL crabmeat topped with a yummy mango salsa. We tried the salad with pecans cranberries and pepper jelly vinaigrette which was great! I have been to Hampshire several times and the food is always excellent and the service is very attentive. Let's start with then bar Hannah and Amelia are your bartenders. These girls on a busy bar hustle. They both concoct delicious libations which will delight any palate. Amelia makes a great balanced Old Fashion which any bourbon snob would love. The bar is stacked with well to high end liquors. The ambience in the restaurant and the bar are relaxing and fulfilling to the senses. The crab cakes are amazing and worth every penny you will not find fillers in these cakes. The steaks are cooked to perfection each time we have ordered and the lobster bisque is a must.
