First, he was available on a HOLIDAY! Responded promptly & professionally. Super convenient as I had the day off & another home consultation scheduled for later in the afternoon. I had a small handful of tasks needing help/attention. He was prompt to respond & offered his rates/terms up front, no hassle & extremely easy to schedule with. While I did have materials on hand, he suggested they wouldn't be as sufficient in the long term, so I genuinely appreciated he came to inspect & then went to purchase any additional materials based on the consultation. ...and from there, I let him do his art! The entirety wasn't a big ask- 3 smaller tasks of replacing a closet dowel hanger, placing patio string lights & mounting a tapestry quilt. The biggest caveat of this was the kitchen pantry storage cabinet American Furniture delivered, needing assembly. I already knew this would not be possible for me to maneuver, solo. And, I am SO glad I decided to seek a professional to construct this because it took him a good minute! Even better, he went above & beyond to anchor this piece to the wall, seeing it was not fully sturdy due to the tile flooring pattern. He communicated arrival ahead. Had literally ALL of the supplies & materials needed on hand outside of what needed to be included in the consult. He worked independently & extremely quiet (aside from the necessary power tools)- I barely noticed! ...and absolutely acknowledged my senior kitty who curiously wanted to "supervise". The job did take a bit longer than anticipated, but that was due to the beast of pantry cabinet assembly. I am SO happy with the services & I feel like the hourly rate/pricing is definitely on par for the quality & expertise provided. And, he took diligence to haul any scraps/waste out to the dumpster- leaving literally no trace behind. It was very convenient paying via Zelle transfer. Cash is also accepted, cards have a 3% fee. I would highly recommend, and will be bookmarking to save this in my collection because I will most certainly seek Luis for any future handyman services. I needed someone to do both because I know that repairmen charge a travel fee to come to your house and I didn't want to pay this twice by hiring two separate people. Lots of people told me they could only fix one problem. Gustavo was one of the handful who told me he could fix both. For those that don't know, many people in the repair business will want to do a diagnostic check on your issues so that they can give you an accurate quote. Some businesses will charge you for this diagnostic and some won't. As someone who loves to research, I only care about businesses that don't charge a diagnostic fee. Gustavo was so confident in my issues that he told me exactly how much it would cost and that he didn't do a diagnostic check. In fact, unlike literally all other people, he would fix the problem the same day that he messaged me. His pricing was very competitive. Unfortunately, when he went to fix my lights, we both found out that I had a completely different problem. (This is why most repair men do diagnostic checks to begin with) Even though it was different problem, Gustavo was confident in fixing it; it did make my cost increase by $45 but I'm glad that he could fix my problem so well. He was also friendly and didn't have a bad body odor like some other repairmen I've encountered.

I received quotes for work to be done on 2 properties. Not a huge job ($3000) but a solid variety of tasks that allowed me to see if this is an experienced company that can do the jobs well and reliably (installing ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, weather-stripping exterior doors, tightening a few loose toilets). They said that it would take 4 days to complete our job. So I waited 3 weeks until they could scheduled us in. At the end of the 4 days, this was what was completed: 1 ceiling fan installed in a bedroom. Nothing else. 4 days to install a ceiling fan? The injury to insult was the total lack of communication from the office. Not one single email, text or phone call after I left multiple messages as to what the status of our job was. We had tenants moving in the following week so I sent an detailed email to cancel and explained what went so terribly wrong with this job. No reply. Just an invoice for the 1 ceiling fan. I found a different handyman who singlehandedly completed the entire scope of work in 2 days! without complaint or fanfare and $840 cheaper. He is now my go-to guy for all my repairs and remodeling jobs.

Price was very fair. Daren is very responsive and punctual. I sent him a text, he asked about the job, came by the next morning to take a look and fit me in 3 days later into his schedule. He came right at the time discussed. Best of all he does a "clean room" setup where he drapes the area in plastic so there's no dust from the job (photo attached). He's very detailed, took up the old underlying drywall tape and patched the entire area as needed. We decided after the first day that we needed another coat of paint so he agreed to come the next morning and finish the job. He did a small repatch to get the finish right and applied the last coat, no extra charge. Very professional and detailed, plus a really nice guy.
