Excellent communication from my first outreach through the completion of each job. I had several different small jobs that I needed help with. The first was to replace 3 old and yellow bathroom ceiling fans which required cutting the drywall and attaching new brackets to the ceiling joist. The next job was installing a Ring doorbell where the challenge was to run power into the house and hide it under the baseboard so it was clean and tidy--nicely done. If my project required electrical work, like adding an outlet I would use an electrician for that part to be clear. I had another job this week which was replacing heady-duty door hinges and tweaking the door jam and seal to help keep the bugs out. read more

I'm starting to wonder if these reviews are fake/ paid for. I was explaining I needed several things done to Michelle who answered the phone and she advised me that there would be a 3-hour minimum for my location. I agreed and mentioned I can meet that since I do have several projects that need to be done and definitely can make that 3-hour minimum the first project she quoted me she said was going to be about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours and I would need to feel the other time. So I had another two but for the third one it had to do with plumbing. When I explained the situation she literally spent 5 minutes listing off what it could be which I didn't really need to know or care about I just would like someone to come in I don't need you to read off everything of what it could be especially if you're not at the project or the contractor. She said that when her people can look at it and see if they could take maybe the toilet off but I said no I'd rather just give you a whole another project because I do not want the toilet off and then you realize that you need to call a plumber and if I'm going to call a plumber anyway I might as well add other projects for the plumber. As I'm explaining my situation Michelle's just irritably sighing on the phone call several times. So you mean to tell me I was listening to your 20 maybes..possibly..could be.. about the toilet ... but for my simple explanation of just giving you a whole another project instead of messing with the plumbing you're getting irritated?? How rude you did this on the recorded call.... if this is how you're going to treat people and you don't have the patience maybe you shouldn't be in customer service. She got very rude then hung up on me..wow you kidding right. Also Light Plumbing work is not Advanced Services just FYI -------- I guess reading and comprehension is also not the owner's strong suit. Let me provide a quick summary.. A. I did not feel comfortable with you working with my toilet since you said you only did "light plumbing" so I tried to give you another project that was on my list B. You kept aggressively insisting on working on my toilet even though I declined toilet work... again because of "light plumbing " C. Again I gave you my explanation as to why I'd rather skip you kept sighing on the call irritably and being very unprofessional then hung up on me. Also I never even met any of your employees or workers so how could I be disrespectful to your employees??? My father used to be my handyman. Being an engineer, he was meticulous in his work always showing up with the proper tools and his level. He spoiled me and set the bar high in terms of my own expectations. When he could no longer help me in this manner I had to find someone else. Over the years I have tried several handyman services. They either did not return my call, show up, or charged exorbitant fees. I took a leap of faith when contacting Michele's Master Handymen. I am in the midst of a home remodel and had several things that I did not want to ask the contractor to take care of. After searching on Yelp, Michele's popped up. I left a message and she returned the call the same day. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable. I explained what needed to be done and she shared her pricing structure. I felt that one of the jobs was way beneath that of a handyman and was embarrassed to even ask but I needed help. She reassured me that is what they are here for. She told me Steve would show up at 7 AM. Not only did Steve show up on time, he finished everything in about 2 1/2 hours. The biggest job, securing new bookshelves to the wall, Steve had to devise a way to secure them as there was nothing provided by the maker. Halfway through he asked me to look at what he devised to see if I was happy with the direction he was taking. Steve came with all the tools needed to do the different jobs. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He kept the work area clean. Steve far surpassed any expectations I had! The handyman that I had used in the past retired, so I was in the market for a new handyman service. I found Michele's Master Handymen on Yelp and decided to give them a call. I talked with Michele herself. She made me feel comfortable about the staff that she hires. She advised they all go through drug testing, background checks, and sex offender registry checks. Michele was very personable and I felt good about giving her company my business. I needed someone to do some touch-up painting on the outside of my home. George got the job done in an hour. These folks are amazing! I had a long list of jobs that needed to be done at my town home that I had been putting off for months. I sent the list to Michele along with photos of the cabinets that needed mounting, drywall that needed repair, a very heavy standing desk that needed assembly along with some charming (but somewhat warped and flimsy) swiss-chalet style cupboards. As we got closer to the date I had a few extra jobs that I also needed help with and she was so good about just letting me add to the list. Michele understood my frustration with another Company's three cancelled installation appointments to install a wall bed in a small bedroom. To be ready for first installation appointment (that got cancelled last minute), we removed old bed and emptied room by 07:00am on 08 September. Michele set my appointment for 12 October but keeping in mind a bedroom without a bed in it is rather useless, when schedules got changed, she kept moving my appointment up. I just redid my master shower and needed some parts of flooring redone. This included new flooring near the base of the shower, around the toilet and to the walls, as well as adding trimming to transition to the wall. Timeline: I initially talked to Michele back in May I think to get a quote on a few things. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do and she gave me lots of ideas which was super helpful! I called a couple other people but no one really followed up, were willing to fulfill this small job, or were too expensive. I called Michele back about a month later after deciding to go with just redoing the floor for now and she actually quoted me for $480 (ended up only being $240) and then I was scheduled for July. Pros: - Super helpful advice/ideas from Michele during consultation! Definitely helpful if you aren't sure exactly what you want to do yet - Price ended up only being $240 when it was originally quoted for $480 so that was definitely a plus! - George was super nice! And he actually came earlier and stayed a little later than planned to get the job done. He also wore a mask and wore booties upon request :) - George didn't end up using all the materials I bought, so I'll actually get to refund a lot of it which is nice! I hate that I have to update this review but I am very disappointed as a returning customer (3-4 times). We called to have our leaky shower door looked at and once the gentleman arrived, he had asked us if he should take the door off completely and re-do the entire thing and we said whichever makes the leak stop. He worked on it and did not test if the leak was fixed due to a little bit of silicone that was used and needed to dry. Fast forward, the leak was not fixed and the exact same issue is still occurring. We called to have him come back and were told we would have to pay for another full job after we already paid a hefty amount for nothing to change with the door. I feel like we were taken advantage of it's really disappointing. I really did expect this company to take accountability on something a returning customer already paid for. We are a young family expecting a baby in 2 months and the job was costly all for it to be 0% improved. Usually companies will come take a look at something that was already paid for and fix what they missed the first time but It looks like that's not how this company operates, i just expected more and now we are out several hundreds of dollars for nothing. Won't be re-using this company after this..... And in response to the owners message below: He was here for only 3 hours ( because it only took 3 hours for him to be confident that it was fixed). We did not need him to fix the " aesthetics" of the shower door as it causes us no issue or concern so we should have only been charged the $350 ( which is what you charged us), not sure why you are mentioning $550 when he was only working on it for roughly 2 hours and cleaning up and setting up equaled the 3 I suppose. Typically, like I already mentioned, I would expect a company to honor their work and at minimum be willing to come see what they missed the first time ( at no cost) considering we already paid for the leak to be fixed. The leak is not 90% fixed like my husband initially said, it's about 10% fixed and after paying $350 with no actual "check" that the work fixed the issue, is not acceptable in my eyes. But we clearly have opposing views on what is acceptable for a business. If you think $350 is cheap to fix 10% of a leak, then so be it, but I strongly disagree. I would rather pay $1,000 to a company that will honor their work and actually fix the issue. We stopped responding because We don't want you to come back out and charge us hundreds more dollars all while still saying that you " can't guarantee" a fix. I'll go with a company that is willing to actually fix the problem and honor their work. read more
