It was a family evening so we went through the family friendly trail. In the beginning your greeted by a scary dude who tells you the story of the witch and all the people she's possessed and to be prepared for all encounters. The atmosphere was perfect having to actually walk through the forest section of the park. At night theres the flashing lights that makes things look really creepy..it was perfect. The band Reaxtion played old school songs and some new pop music, as well, allowing for many people to dance. There were many vendors with a variety of items to purchase. You could also find food trucks with Italian food and some other dishes to wet your palate . They had some blow up bounce type activities for kids to enjoy and play inside. There was also a game at no costs to play giving out a ball as a prize to each winner. At the end there was a trophy for best Italian food since it's meatball day ... A nice evening with many things for all ages to do.

Parking is limited at the Sportsplex but you can park in the warehouses next door and across the street. If you don't want to wait in long lines come early. Traffic was already backing up for the festival by 3:45. What was especially nice this year was the Sportsplex has a large new covered field with Astro Turf. They set up the stage with a country cover band, tables and chairs, and bleachers in this area. Other attractions at the festival included a few carnival rides, bounce house, haunted house, food trucks, pony rides, petting zoo, craft vendors. and contests for costumes, pumpkin carving, and scarecrow building. I spent the evening hanging out with my friend. We caught some of the concert and ate at the Pork O' Rican Food Truck and had Italian Ices. We shopped at the tents and I bought a light up Halloween decoration. We waited in line forever for the haunted house and laughed our heads off. Throughout the night I saw a lot of people I knew and many of the kids who go to my school. So fun to see everyone in costumes. At the end of the night the town officials announced that Margate is going to host the Broward County Fair this year. Awesome news and more great times to look forward to.

I have been to church carnivals that had better food than this one. I had a falafal on stale pita with bluchy fries for $14 since there was also a $1 fee to use my credit card. My husband and kid shared a $13 turkey leg (the only thing that was good). We tried to get some zepolis but were told to come back in an hour. There was only one ice cream vendor so the line was ridiculously long during the day. My kid loved all the rides she rode, however on the super slide the woman running it was so annoyed at a parent for letting her toddler run wild she yelled an "f" bomb at the parent. Okay the parent deserves it but the language wasn't necessary. There were way too many games that no one was playing. Parking was free but confusing. The bathrooms were disgusting. The point of a fair is to have animals...none. All in all, my kid had fun....but we won't go again next year.

It's a bunch of rows of beautiful cardboard cutouts and a few actors per row. Most of the actors were great and all the makeup was detailed. The carolers were the best in my opinion. If you want to try it out just go eyes wide open about what to expect. Bring letter to Santa as they will accept them and they will give kids candy canes. We went with friends in different cars and some kids got bigger candy canes than others so that'll be fun to explain.
